View Full Version : An Accomplishment, and a thank you

Well, tonight, i have succeeded in doing something i have never done. That's right, Sarah went for a walk. Under cover of darkness, and in no way "dressed to the nines", I left my house en femme. My hair was done up in what I call a "lady tail" (guys do ponytails differently) and my clothing was androgynous, but I was wearing my bra and breastforms, and even had a small amount of make up.

As the rest of the world slept, Sarah prowled for a full 30 minutes, in back streets, away from streetlamps. One car passed me in this time, and they either didn't realize what i truly was, or didn't care enough one way or the other.

A small accomplishment, to say the least, but it's babysteps for me. And, in many ways, i have you all to thank. The reason i joined this site, and the reason i was lurking beforehand, was to help myself accept that i wasn't alone. That there are many people just like me out there. And that while there are plenty of people who would ridicule me, some that would even get violent, there are people who understand. people who accept.

Thank you, one and all, for all that you've done. Thank you for that which you realise you do, and for that which you don't realise. My next baby step will be buying a camera and letting you all see me....When i'm ready for that.

I have seen some women in the past few months that I really had to wonder if they were female. It is a lot about the way you walk and otther mannerisms. just keep smiling.

Sounds good Sarah, you do things when you are ready. It's nice to read what other folks do but you know what? You did it all on your own and for that I'm happy for you. It's an entirely different thing when we take the personal plunge. Remember these times when going out becomes second nature. I know I do and value them because they were the beiginning of my journey for finding my real self. Good work Hon.

A very good point. I had mace on me, plus I'm very good with improvised weaponry. I don't go out without some type of protection, Sarah mode or not. We can never be too careful.

And yes, Mitch, the buzz was unbelievable. Thinking of being a little bolder tonight, just haven't made up my mind yet.

Sarah, you just keep on going at your own pace! But as some of the others have cautioned, please be careful (and safe).
