if you are not doing anything wrong, the police are our freinds. i live in one of the worst areas of the city and am very gratefull when the police park on our street to do their paper work or just relax and have a coffee. ive never felt threatened or uncomfortable or harrassed by them, i feel safer with them there.

Yep. Five-Oh are just regular folks doing a thankless job, and if you're courteous and cooperative, you'll never have a problem. Good job on handling what must have been a nerve-wracking situation, though.

Well it sounded like they were looking out for you, but I bet when they asked for your names it was just to see if you were a male.

The officer would be asking his mate for his opinon on the two lovely ladies

Only then would he tell him about Sherlyn :D

I am so glad to hear you came through the experience and it was not as bad as you expected :)

Even when I am in guy mode, I always tell everyone I know if they ever get pulled over the best way to handle it is to cooperate and be respectful to the police. You two handled this situation as it should have been handled. You were honest and told him you were TG and that was one of the smartest moves you could have made. It is important that you are honest with them up front, that way they don't get any ideas of you being "in drag" trying to hide your identity in the commission of some crime. I'm happy you girls had a "safe" trip home after that.

Well done. When I was pulled over several years ago for a headlight being out I said I was coming home from a party. Somehow I don't think he believed me. But he also was very courteous and polite.

I am glad it went so well for you. They have to do their jobs, and it is thankless. All of us in public safety have to uphold a higher standard, and although there are some idiots out there. For the most part we try not to judge.

I then told him I was Tg ...he replied ..Oh Oh Ok ...I waited for a response ...THEN he said..Have a Nice Night..as we headed back ..he pulled over a vehicle just past us ..the other cruiser goes up the street ....then the officer that pulled us over drives just past our place and parks at the pizza place ... the other drives towards us and slows down :drink: but keeps going ..Di sez I bet he radioed his partner and said thats a guy ...lol ....anyways the other was watching us I guess til we got to our place ..after we got in he drove by and was gone ..Whewwwwwwwwww .. lol ..I'm glad actually ..I got to experience facing the police ...He was very nice :)

The dangers that the urge many of us have to "take a walk in the park" are that (a.) we might be quized about maybe being up to no good (e.g. cd/tv prostitute), and (b.) running into thugs who, for nothing more than their own brain dead entertainment, are violent towards us.

You and Di were courteous and honest -- and I get the impression from your account, especially given that he told y'all of the problems in the area, that he decided to make certain you got home safely. He may well, indeed, have radioed the other car and said something about "guy in a dress," but obviously they were committed to doing their job!!!

IMO, and this is just me, I'd write their unit's chief and commend him on how professional and sensitive his officers are being!!!!!!! Who knows, such a letter might lead to increased senitivity and professionalism training -- and maybe even some commendations for the officers you encountered. This is the type of positive experience that will help us in the long run!!! Kudos to you and your SO for handling things so well -- now the officer needs some kudos, too!

Sher, you and Di are just so cute together. I'll bet that officer had a hard time believing you were a guy. I know how nervous you had to be feeling. It's like when you are driving down the road and a cop is behind you, even though you aren't doing anything wrong, you still get nervous. I think it is just human nature. Anyway, I'm glad that everything turned out well and y'all had a good evening! :hugs: CG GG

Good for you! You showed grace under pressure which is the definition of courage. I do hope you two will think twice about going out late at night...two women could be preyed upon and the cops were doing you a favor. I used to be scared of them, but these days whenever I drive I just bring my drivers license and I would be straight with them too if I got stopped.

Sherlyn,

I so know what you were feeling girl. I was once stopped by an officer after attending a movie and exiting out of the theater using the rear exit. After all, my car was parked closer to this door. The officer politely asked me to come over towards him and I did so. He asked for my identification and my name and I gave both to him. Since my voice is not exactly what you call feminine, I also volunteered that I was a crossdresser and tonight was my "lady's night out".

He walked me to my car and verified that it too was registered to me. By this time, his patrol mate also joined us and began to ask me questions about crossdressing. He indicated that I was his first encounter with a cross dresser. Because of his wonderful demanor, I was thrilled to answer all his questions and to share my thoughts about my crossdressing and crossdressing males in general. All this at 11:30 at night. Anyway, the original officer came back towards us and asked that I be careful out there. His patrol buddy even said "Have a nice evening".

I drove away from this encounter excited, still a little nervous and full of confidence. Ever since then, I've always treated officers with my best greeting while enfemme or enmale personna.

. . . etc, etc.

It's funny - when I go out I will often stand at the hotel door for a minute or so, or even walk to the door, walk away, walk back, while trying to get the guts up to exit the room. Once out though, I'm Okay.
I've been through a few scarey things lately like your story and it seems to have built my confidence and I'll bet it works the same for you. Now you have been through it and the world didn't end. :-)

Wow, you girls did great! I know I would have been scared to death if that had happened to me, even if I was with Marla. "Di the protector" it would seem. What a lovely couple you two make :D

Sis,

Been there done that one......think your heart will play the drum solo part of "WIPEOUT" before it is all over, then you realize the fear was sorta silly and we have nothing to fear if we are law abiding.

Sherilynn,

Speaking as a police officer: Considering the setting they were probably afraid the local teens were going to hassle you, find out your 'secret' and beat you up. Cops deal with TG people on a regular basis. As such, we are not a big deal to them/us. Unfortunately, we also intervene to protect TG's in public settings from less open minded people. It sounds like you and the officers handled things fine.

When I was a police officer I ran into "sisters" all the time. One that stands out in my mind was in a park after closing. She/he was laying on the grass drinking a beer. (two violations so far). She/he was about 270 lbs, six' and bearded. He/she had on a silkie looking dress with socks and work boots. No fashion sense I told him. He laughed. I could have writen him the citaions but just let him be on his way. Did I have a soft spot for him ? Not partularly. He/she was respectful and admitted he/she was wrong. There were bigger fish out there to fry so I didn't want to get tied up with him/her. Like the others have said. Just be calm and show the officer some respect and it will be OK.

Most police officers are only concerned about doing their jobs and getting back home safely, they have more serious concerns than some guy wearing a dress.

I do live in terror, however, of the Fashion Police.

Glad you got this one past your gut

Oh...I always have nice experiences with police...last Saturday I had a Female Officer stop me and tell me how nice I looked, and why didn't I have the photo on my driver's license changed (to Fem)?.....what a sweetie!

Here's a laugh, after a fashion, and kudos to local police. I was awakened one night to flashlights - saw the beams against a hallway wall. I got up (sleepily at 1am) wearing a black slip. I saw it was a policeman with a flashlight, asked how he got in? Turns out, I had forgotten to close my garage door, and someone had burgled me. Long story short, the police officer suggested I get dressed (I put on a pair of sweats). I came out in the sweats for "official" business. As far as I know, that's the end of the story: police don't care, if you are not doing something blatantly criminal...

There are some great cops out there but also remember theres some real jerks out there too.. Patricia..:drink: I have coffee life is good..
