I'm so excited! I'M GOING TO BE A MAKEUP MODEL! When I got home from work today, there was a message from Amy, the girl that does my makeovers at Glamour Boutique in Las Vegas. Seems that they are opening a new store in the Los Angeles area and she is going to be training new makeup artists in LA on Friday... and she asked if I would be her model. Well, duh! That was a no brainer! Can you imagine? A whole day of being fussed over and being made to look, well, glamourous! Nothing like a little pampering to make a girl feel girly. And they are going to supply the wig and clothes! I hope that I'll be able to sleep between now and Friday. I'll be taking my camera, for sure! I suspect that I may be in for a new look or two.:) Hopefully, I'll be able to post pics Saturday.

Glamour Boutique has three locations... Auburn, MA, Las Vegas, NV, and now Studio City, CA. If you want to find out more about them, click here ----> http://www.glamourboutique.com/. If you're near any of these locations, check them out. They also sell on line and their pricing seems more than fair.

I just had to share this news, ladies. I'M SO EXCITED! (whoops, already said that) <lol>

You are the lucky one!!! I'd start buying some lottery tickets... you might be on a roll here!!! :)

I just have to lament, for a second...

Fourteen years ago, I lived five blocks up the street from the old Queen Mary, in Studio City. It was a well know club that had professional Drag Shows and frequented by many CDs. I was still in my "deeply closeted" stage and never got up the nerve to go there... in male mode or female. I'd often see some of the girls when I drove past or was at the bank across the street.

Now, since I have moved out of that city... and the closet, that whole area is rich in TG studios and boutiques. Damn! :(

Always in the right place at the wrong time!

Holly... have fun! I know you will!!! We will be with you in Spirit!!! http://www.crossdressers.com/forums/images/icons/icon14.gif

Hi Girls! Well, Friday was makeover day and my “debut” as a makeup model… well maybe makeup subject would be a better description! More on that in a few moments…

Friday was just an incredible day. My wife and I got up about 7:30 AM to start getting ready for our trip to Studio City, a suburb of Los Angeles. It’s only about an hour and a half drive from where we live and the session wasn’t scheduled to begin until 12:00 noon but I had made arrangements to meet another girl from the forum, Joan of Art, in Studio City at 11:00 AM. I’ve got to be honest with you… I don’t make it a habit of meeting people, sight unseen that I have met on the Internet. But something told me that this would be okay. I’m sure glad I did because she is just a real sweetheart. We met just after 11:00 AM just outside the Glamour Boutique in Studio City. The three of us walked cross the street to a little coffee shop and had just the nicest visit. But I have to admit, being that we were both dressed in drabs at the time, it was a little “different” calling each other “Joan” and “Holly.” And HTGurl, well she was really confused. But it was fun and really enjoyable meeting and getting to know a new girlfriend. This was the perfect start to what was to turn out to be wonderful day.

At noon, the three of us walked back across the street and entered Glamour Boutique. It’s a little smaller than the Las Vegas store, but very well stocked with inventory of interest to us ladies. The first person I laid my eyes on was Amy, my friend and makeup artist from the Las Vegas Glamour Boutique. She was here to help the two makeup artists at the Studio City store and I was to be one of the two subjects to be made up today. The other girl, who hadn’t arrived, yet was named Rachel and she is from the Ventura area. Amy then introduced us to Darya and Cinnastasia. They would be doing the makeovers today. Darya is also the manager of the store. Rachael had called and was running a little behind, so it gave us a chance to visit and get to know one another a little better. Unfortunately, Joan had to leave so we all said goodbye to her and the rest of us continued to visit until Rachael arrived, about 12:40 PM… well, time to go to work!

I went and changed into a long black skirt with a red knit top, black tights, and a pair of strappy 2 ½” heels. I then took my place in the makeup area in a chair right next to Rachael. She was dressed in jeans and a really cute sleeveless top. Rachael is a natural beauty with a delightful sparkle in her eyes. We traded email addresses… hope we stay in touch!

Anyway, it’s time for Darya and Cinnastasia (we wound up calling her Cinn) to work their magic. Darya was assigned to Rachael and Cinn was stuck with trying to turn this ol’ girl into anything short of frightening. By the way, don’t know that it’s that important, but both Darya and Cinn are TGirls themselves.

For the next hour or so, my face was stretched, taped, colored, highlighted, and otherwise transformed from a tired looking, nearly 60 year old man into what several said was an attractive forty something lady. We all chatted as foundation, mascara, eye shadow, powder, eyelashes, hairspray, and all sorts of other transformation media was applied, smoothed, shaped, lined, and otherwise made a part of our being. The end result? Wow! Rachael was absolutely stunning. Then Cinn turned me around in the chair so that I could get my first look at her completed handiwork. Holly’s accented eyes took in every delicious detail… full red lips, smooth flawless skin, highlighted cheekbones, facial contours, and coiffed hair framing an obviously feminine face. Holly was in complete control once more.

Amy then spent about a half an hour evaluating the work of Darya and Cinn. It was good… very good as a matter of fact. But Amy had a few tips of her own to share. Color choices on both Rachael and myself were fine. Foundation, eyes, blushes, contour, were all good. But placement of blush on the face can have an impact how the eyes will look. Blush extending beyond the outside corners of the eye will tend to pull the eyes away from the center of the face. And blush can be used to highlight the face just as eye shadow is used to highlight the eyes by using three different colors. Also make sure that makeup around the eye is not left open, otherwise eyes may appear more recessed and not as prominent. Amy suggested Rachael have darker hair and a different wig was selected. The difference was amazing. Her whole face warmed and softened even more. She also talked about using the hair to frame and shape the face and soften to look of broad shoulders. All and all, it was just a fantastic afternoon. We took a few more pictures and then Rachael had to leave.

Amy, Cinn, Darya, HTGurl, and myself sat down to talk some more. While we were talking, a young man entered the store. He was interested in corsets and tried a few on. He also browsed some other items. Eventually he joined us in our conversation. He said that his name was Eric and that he had been cross-dressing for a few years. He appeared to be in his mid to late 20’s. He was very polite and respectful. He thought we were all cool (he had good taste).

All too soon, Amy had to leave to catch a flight home to Las Vegas. We hugged and kissed goodbye and Darya took her to the airport. Cinn and I got on the computer and started looking at shoe sites… we both wear a petty large size and have some difficulty in finding shoes of certain styles in our size. We found a couple of sites that had quite a nice selection of larger styles. One in particular, Zappos.com was quite interesting. I’ll probably spend more time looking there.

Then I made a big mistake… I started looking around the shop! I found a little black dress, a sheer black long sleeve top with a rose print, a leopard print corset with matching thong panty, a purple nightgown (one for HTGurl, too), and a black leather skirt. HTGurl found a black top that she liked, too. Well, since everything fit, we just had to take it all home. I also found a necklace and a set of bangle bracelets. They’re very noisy and feel great on my wrist. And they now live in my jewelry box!

Darya got back from taking Amy to the airport a little before 6:00 PM. The store stays open until 8:00 PM on Fridays and she wanted to know if we wanted if we wanted to go out after the store closed. Well, I was all dressed up and I needed a place to go so we said sure. But HTGurl and I were getting hungry. Darya suggested a little Italian place within walking distance from the shop. It sounded good to us so off we went, walking down Ventura Boulevard. It felt so nice walking down the street, heels clicking away, knowing that I looked great! Nobody batted an eye. We were just a couple of girls walking down the street in LA.

We arrived at the restaurant (all too soon) and went inside. It was a fairly small place… looked to me like it would seat 50-60 customers and it was about ½ full when we arrived. We were seated at a table just about in the center of the room. No one paid us a second look. This was just too cool. The wait staff brought us some water, a basket of Italian bread, and a couple of menus. After looking at the menu, we decided to share an angel hair pasta dish with chicken and artichoke hearts, topped with fresh basil. What a great choice that turned out to be! We talked and ate and had just the most fabulous time with one another. We talked about the events of the day. We talked about our kids (who had both called during the evening). We talked about us. This was actually my favorite part of the day. The conversation was frank, open, and non-threatening to neither of us. I felt so relieved and at peace just talking with her. And my love for her grew to a greater depth than ever before. We finished our meal, paid our bill, and walked back to Glamour Boutique.

It was closing time. Cinn was tired and decided not to go out with the rest of us. She asked if I would mind giving her a lift to the train station so she could get home. Of course I said sure. I’ve never turned down a chance to be out and about en femme so off we went. Turns out the train station was only about five minutes from the store and near the entrance to Universal Studios, Hollywood. We said goodbye as I dropped her off and I made my way back to the store. Darya and HTGurl were busy taking care of the details of closing the store when I arrived back. I pitched in to give a hand also because I wanted to go out and have a good time. Soon enough, we finished up. I wanted to change before we left so I put on my new leather skirt and sheer black top. Unfortunately, the batteries in the camera gave out so we couldn’t take any pictures. Too bad because, in all modesty, I looked hot!

HTGurl and I followed Darya to a place called The Lodge. We parked and headed inside. This was place is very T-friendly! Inside, a DJ played music. Several girls were having a good time. Darya introduced HTGurl and I to her friends. It was so much fun meeting even more girls. Darya bought HTGurl a glass of wine and for me, a Strawberry Daiquiri. We talked with our new friends and had a great time. But all to soon, it was time to head for home. We said our goodbyes and headed east for home.

We got home a little after 1:00 AM. Once inside the house, HTGurl surprised me and asked me to model my new purchases. First I took off my new blouse and put on the leopard corset. I must admit, it looked killer with the black leather skirt. I’ll be wearing that combination out somewhere soon! Then I tried on her new black top. It has a really cute buckle offset from the center of the neckline… and it fit! Then she wanted to see what the new corset looked like without a bra, using just the breast forms. I was a little disappointed. The tops of the forms are visible and the cleavage just doesn’t look right to me. We’ll work on that. I then took off the leather skirt and put on the matching thong panty. That sight will remain one that will be just between HTGurl and me. The last thing I tried on was my new nightgown. It fit just fine. But now it was time to get ready for bed. It took me tem minutes to get the makeup off. By now, it’s almost 2:00 AM. I slipped under the covers, wrapped my arms around my lover, told her I loved her and together we fell asleep… content, happy, and very much in love. What a great day this was!

Pictures to follow shortly.

I must say that I really had a great time also at the shop. Even though I didn't get a makeover I got to take the pictures. The dinner at the resturant was really great and going over to the Lounge was really really fun. Girls, those that are close, please go see the Glamour Boutique. Darya and Cinn are really friendly and extremely helpful. And they are great makeup artists. All in all it was a great day. I know holly is having trouble getting the pics up, but she's trying. I think it keeps telling her that they are too big. But believe me they really are great. And she'll get it figured out.

Holly,
I am so green with envy! Some girls have all the luck!
Honestly, though, I'm happy for you. You are incredibly fortunate to have HTGirl in your life. I can tell that your greatest joy wasn't the make-over, it was your sweet wife. That's really great! I'm sure you treasure her.
I've got a problem with your avatar caption though. Your not old enough to be my mom! How 'bout big sis?
