skirts (they may want to ) but it wont happen . What started me on this was
a dj on a local radio station saying men should not wear capris they are for hot women only ! go figure more mens clothes hijacked by womens designers

As a "gender bender" I am enjoined from giving my thoughts on this matter, so instead I will just present a series of facts without commentary.

Baroque Fashions
"Later in the period, men wore baggy breeches known as "Rhinegraves," which were gathered below the knees with lace frills. This trend in breeches led to the popularity of "Petticoat breeches," which were full skirts worn low on the hips.

I agree with you. Regular Joe Blow will not automatically want to go down this route because of the social stigma and social hierarchy within our society.

I've said this many times before (as have others) but when a woman dresses in a way that is perceived to be masculine it's not considered a problem because she's going "up the scale". However, when a man dresses in a way that is perceived to be feminine it is a problem because (especially amongst other men) he's lowering himself because in their eyes dressing feminine is being less of a man, and being less of a man is considered a bad thing.

Now, obviously I'm generalizing about the public at large, and not everyone thinks this way, but IMHO the only way we will ever be truly accepted is when women truly get an equal status in society with men. Why hasn't there ever been a female US President? Where are all the female military Generals or CEOs of large companies? Am I making any sense here? The key to it being accepted is the empowerment of women. That’s why all cders should be interested in women’s issues and trying to help level the playing field. I'll get off my soap box now. :sb:

P.S. I wear capri's out in boy mode with a girl's t-shirt :D

Most likely, in the future, only CD males will wear skirts. Women wear them less and less. I agree with the DJ. I hate capris the way Karren Hutton hates blue jeans. There is only a few women on earth that look good in them and they all look like Paris Hilton. I imagine that in Hell all the women are wearing lowcut denim capris.

Its Called a Kilt!!!

and remember; a lot of women's clothing made now comes from men's clothing from a long time ago.

example:

The plad golf pants
the pin stripe suit
bell bottoms and flower shirts from the hippy days
the Vneck jersey
etc...

Just remember, men wore them first.
