I noticed alot of us travel with our jobs.
I have a couple of questions.
One thing, If we started maybe a traveling link or something, maybe when
another is in the same neighborhood, we wouldnt have a problem with where to go. I am in Michigan and haven't found a place to go unwind yet (in the town I am in), I don't know if you girls think this is a good idea or not.
Also, I don't usually leave my things out(if u know which things I am talking about) but i left out some nighties hanging up in with my pants and things.
I had a cleaning lady ask me if I was having a sex change or something, this wasn't in my room it was down the hall, toward the front desk. I don't try to hide everything, but this caught me off guard and I didn't know what to say other than, ask her what your husband don't buy you things.
I know it was a cop out but have never had that question ask before.
So I guess my question is, do u leave your things out in your room when you are staying in one place for a length of time?
Thanks for any responses.

I travel for pleasure, usually I will go out enfemme at least one night when I go on a trip. I leave a dress on a hanger, my makeup is in a box in the bathroom and a bra is on top of my suitcase. In case those are not enough clues for the motel staff to determine that I'm a crossdresser either I will forget the electronic key in my room or the thing will malfunction so I will have to go to the office in my femanine attire.

I travel a LOT myself, and yes, I do leave my stuff out. In the end it boils down to the fact that I really coudn't care less what they think if they see my skirts hanging there. So far I have never had anyone ask or comment - I wish they would. I would be more than happy to tell them more than they ever wanted to hear about being TG.
Now if I have makeup, wigs, and other items scattered all over because I was getting ready, I may put up the do not disturb sign, but its more the point that I don't want someone messing with my stuff than a fear of them seeing I'm TG.
Holly once responded to someones post about being afraid to go shopping. I think her words were something like "What power have these people got over you?"
Thats a good attitude to have - why would you worry about how these people felt or thought about you?

I wish I traveled as much as Kim does.... SIGH!!!! hehe But I hang all my fem clothing in the closet with what ever male things I bring, which is usually very little.... Lingerie in the drawers with my makeup kit.... heels on the floor.... And I've always wondered what the housekeeping girls think but for one thing... I tip them very very well... lol And never had a problem or a comment and I've run into a few of them both in drab and enfemme.... Always a smile!!

Kim's right... who cares what other think..... I sure don't.... and I'm off on a business trip Tuesday to exciting southern WV!!!! Weeeeeee Not TG friendly but I don't care!! lol

I have a suite case with a separate bottom for my femme cloths. And yes I hang all my things together, mix it up a bit. Like Karen I do wonder what the maids think, but "hey its america".........

Hugs.

I leave my things out, mixed in with any drab clothes, when traveling. I don't think any of the cleaning staff even know (or care) how many people of what gender are registered to a room. All they are told is that "room 407 needs cleaning". If they see some femme clothes mixed in with some male one, they'll just assume (if they bother to think about it at all) that a man and woman are occupying the room.

Like a few of you, I'm sure, I bring more femme clothes than I need, and just enough drab ones to get by.

Now, I rinse out my stockings and leave them to dry over the shower rod while I'm gone if I am there for several days. The one time I had to laugh is when I left a bra in the messed up blankets when changing... when I got back to the room in the evening, the bra was folded and placed on top of the dresser.

Wow, when I travel, I usually travel in a motor home. A 32ft bus, so I don't worry about what is hanging in the closet. Some may be mine and some may be the wifes. Oh well....BJ

I don't travel as much as Kim and Karren but I don't care what other people think plus the cleaning staff could care less who or what in a room as long as they down tear the place up so they have to do more work.

I just started to do alot of traveling with my new job. I really have no problem leaving my femme stuff out in the open in my hotel rooms. I don't think the cleaning people check the hotel registry to see who and how many people are staying in the room. I'm using out working when they come in the room, so it never matters.

I did have airport security pull out my femme make-up bag once. The security asked if I was traveling with someone, and I confidently said no. He looked at me, smiled, and said thank you and have a nice day. Hmmm.....I wonder if he crossdresses, too?

I travel every week for work. I carry on my bags a lot and will have bra, panties and makeup in the bag. If I am traveling with co-workers, I will check my bags just in case TSA decides to go through my stuff.

When I plan on dressing completely at my destination, I check my big CD bag with forms (hose with rice), wig, heels, dresses, etc. to eliminate TSA from wanting to see what the big ball of rice is. Often that bag has the little tag in it that says TSA went through my bag.

When I check into my hotel, if I am going to be there more than one night, I always put my shoes and clothes in the closet and my lingerie in the dresser drawer. I keep my makeup on the bathroom counter.

I have been caught by the maids probably a dozen times dressed. I guess I could use the security lock, but I admit, it is actually on purpose. I normally have an interchange with them, asking them to give me towels, or extra cream for my coffee. So far no negative remarks.

I never take femme clothes when on business manly because I am usually
with another employee . or its to last minute I also only take carry on ,
When on pleasure I leave my femme things out ,why would I care what
the cleaning staff think .I worry more about walking out the front door of the hotel

Well I am traveling by myself, and the staff knows that at the hotel.
My job takes me to destinations, where I am there for long periods of time.
So I actually talk to the staff some, I actually did like the fact that they did notice. Don't ask me why that is, I have no idea. I guess it boils down to the getting caught thing. I have not been honest with them yet, and probably wont. I keep my other things like nail polish and such in my bags so there is no chance they will see it unless they did go throw my bag.
I really appreciate your responses to me, I WILL let you of anymore comments by staff if you girls would like to hear my adventures across the country.

I travel a fair bit overseas (particularly Asia) usually for two or three weeks at a time and always take femme gear with me or else buy heaps while I'm away. I always wind up bringing a lot of stuff home as it is so cheap and good quality. I don't leave it laying on the bed or chairs. I just hang it in the robe or have it in the drawers. It has never been a bother.

I travel for my job regularly. Nine times out of ten I fly. I never check a bag so all of my comfortable clothes are mixed in with my guy clothes. When I fly, I don't travel with breastforms as I don't want to take a chance with security.

I'm usually only in a hotel for one night so leaving things out isn't a problem. When I do stay more than one night, I do hang things in the closet. I really don't care what housekeeping thinks as they probably have more to worry about than my clothes.

When I have the chance to drive, the trunk is loaded up with 'stuff' :) . That's when I try to go out and have had makeovers done.

I travel 5-6 times per year. I used to hide my girl stuff, but now it's more like what Kim and Karen said. In Vegas not a word was said and I saw the staff. I left my shoes neatly out, make-up on the vanity, skirt & blouses hung up, put my wig away, once left my nightie out, but I don't hide stuff anymore. I'm probably neater than when I travel with my family.

One the other hand, I stopped in on friends staying at the same hotel as me on one trip. There was stuff all over the place. Clothing, bathing suits, towels, food...an absolute disaster. Heck, leaving a pretty pink nightie draped over a chair must be an absolute delight for the cleaning people!

I too just put my girl stuff in the closet and undies in the drawers with the make up. In the twenty some years of traveling I only had one hotel person comment on my night gown. About ten years ago I was in a fairly large west coast city and staying in a four star hotel right in the middle of town. I was to be there for several days so I had a lot of stuff in the room. Day time in drab and night time for Paulette. On the second night I had just gotten back to my room when I noticed my nightie was neatly laying on the bed and that there was a note card lying next to it. The card said that the person loved my choice of sleep wear and that if I did not mind that she would like to talk with me and gave me her name and phone number.

I called the number and asked for her and she said that she worked at the hotel and was interested in men who crossdressed. We agreed to meet away from the hotel for a drink. After meeting her in person and explaining about dressing and how it relaxed me and made me feel alive she invited me to her home the next night for dinner on the condition that I dress for her. I had a wonderful dinner the next night as Paulette and wonderful conversation. It was just two girls having an evening of food and talk. We were never more than just friends and she later told me that she wished her boy friend would dress for her. I saw her a couple of times over the next couple of years and each time it seemed that we had never been apart. She finally got married and I never heard from her again.
