Has anyone ever done a drag show? I've thought about doing it, I think it would be fun (always have had a side of me that kinda wants to be on stage, as an actor or rock star) I don't think I could get into the costumes that they wear and be so exotic looking, but I think I could pass off the girl next door type on stage. Plus I know you can win money as well and get tips (Whoo Hooo...getting paid to DRESS!!!) What are everyones thoughts on this??

I am involved in an "annual" show called the "UnQueenly Pageant". Essentially, it is a "rennie" drag-show. The men involved dress in drag and compete for the crown and scepter.

While I and one other contestant are essentially the only ones treating it as a drag show, we have a GREAT time doing it. In fact, we discussed the fact that we no longer do it to win, but to simply be a part of it. (If we win, we can't "compete" the following year). Besides, it gives me a chance to be at a Renaissance Festival, en femme, and having a ball doing it. ;) Those that know of Kandis could care less, and those that don't know of her, don't matter. :D:devil::D

I was in a couple of them. While it was kind of fun, it's not my thing really. While there is certainly nothing wrong with it, I'm definately not a DQ, just myself.

No, but I have been a model in several fashion shows.

I have acted in female roles in several amateur theatre plays (all were comedies). It was great fun. Friends and coworkers saw me in those plays and it was all just laughed off. You don't get paid, but it is an amazing experience.

You don't know the half of it honey. We, here in Texas have a HUGE rennie community and this show is one of the most popular draws for a crowd. I'd almost be willing to bet that we could make a LOT of money IF we ever charged admission for it. I won "Runner Up" my first year in the competition, and after that just decided to keep "competing" but not win so I could compete every year.

Nope, not Scarborough, though I do go up there and "play" every other year.

We normally put this show on in the campgrounds at TRF (Texas Renaissance Festival), or at Excalibur Faire (Excalibur is no more, but Camelot Faire will be taking its place).

I'm not to much into the DRAG QUEEN look. I do find the shows entertaining though as well as the people.

I wish there wer CD shows instead actually.

I went to this show one time and there was a younger girl there and she was more the CD look(extreemly passable). She did not have the heavy make up and such.

To me she was the best in this show.
Hugs,
