I just bought Veronica Vera's book: Miss Vera's Cross-Dress for SUCCESS!
I highly recommend this book. It has some excellent recommendations for websites to go to for supplies, etc. I found this website because of her book.

I just let my wife tell me what is right, too do!! Instead of getting her ideas for CD's. But that's between the two of us...BJ

I wasn't overly impressed with the book! I'd call it a "cute read," but nothing more. Maybe it is a good primer for some -- I don't want to be too critical. That said, if (a.) you have a supportive SO, they can teach you a whole lot more, and (b.) you can learn a great deal by doing things like getting make-up tips (starting with a make-over, or just asking advice) at friendly cosmetic counters (like MAC), AND then practice, practice, practice. I guess it all depends on your individual situation!

Never read the book but saw it advertised in TG Community News (now defunct) a few years back. I've never met Vera either but she is a FOAF. I figure It's probably good for a "beginner" though.

Ok, I am now prepared to feel quite stupid: Salandra, what is a "FOAF" please?

Ok, I am now prepared to feel quite stupid: Salandra, what is a "FOAF" please?Friend of a friend Traci. Not too many people use that term other than Urban Legend accounts (heard something second or third hand) but my friend said she knows Vera anyway.

I read her first book "Miss Vera's finishing school for boys who want to be girls" it, too was a great starter book. I saw a show once on television about her school also...much better than the book, they highlighted three of her clients and their partial journeys.....now that's good television!
