Here is a link to an article where a Dallas TS was denied access to a Casino because her ID did not match what she looked like.

Although it really is up to the Casino who they permit inside, it seemed to be handled appaulingly :( making her stand there 10 minutes to be mocked, only to be no yet again. And then the guy says... I hope my guys were polite... yeah whatever... jerks

That's our new and ever changing world after 911. Security issues will continue to be used as an excuse to justify unjust actions.

The article says their "excuse" is that the law is to keep those under 18 out of the casino in accordance with state law.......if that TG looks under 18 I'm a monkey's aunt !!!! No common sense at all.

At what point did common sense become common place. Typical discrimination I hope that casino gets what is coming to it.

This case shows the need for changes in our nations and perhaps the worlds ID system. In this day and age having good ID can be critical. While the Gender marker thing is good for those fully transitioning, what about those of us who go out dressed but have no intention of ever going all the way. What we need is the allowance for a second ID tied to our drivers license that shows our fem pic. This would stop this increasing problem with us not matching our ID pictures when out.

The next time she needs to have her picture ID updated have it taken where she has makeup on and/or looks like the woman she wants to portray. After all she claims to be a female impersonator. Let it show on her ID.

Amazing, rude, and all. I mean the Casino has the right to refuse entrance under any circumstance, but to mock her in public for 10 minutes like that is wrong. They could have pulled her aside to a more private setting.

In most states, a place of public accomadation, cannot bar people from entering. If they are dressed inapproapriatly for the facility, are causing a disturbance or are under the influence of drugs they can be barred. Race, religion, sex, and sexual orientation are usually protected. Gender presentation is not always protected. If her picture matched her appearance then they were just going by the male and female info. She probably has a good case because I doubt they question hardly anyone else on their gender. If a manly woman comes along and it says she is female, do they ask her to prove it or deny her access. I don't think so! Hopefully they will pay a bundle and change their policies.

Just another reason to resist the national "Real ID" bill. It makes it very hard if not impossible to change the gender marker from your birth certificate. Many states have voted to protest and refuse to abide by real id.

Interesting thread... I have been working in the casino security industry for 10 + years now. This should not have been a problem. Casinos get all sorts of different people to ID. They could have just called a Gaming investigator to come and Verify who she was, as that is her right. Sounds like predjudous to me. Hopefully this Boomtown casino will lose not only the buisness of this individual and her friends, but also the buisness of the MANY people who are going to hear about this incident, = Costly. Actually Security bosses are renowned to be kinda militaristic and slightly prejudust

Just a thought. What would be wrong with requesting that no gender marker appear on your ID. I also wonder what would be wrong with allowing people to have two photos taken with alternate appearances. The reason being that people sometimes look very different if they grow a beard or not or wear makeup etc.

Given the situation, if the photo was the issue I would say maybe they have a case, but given the F or M doesn't have anything to do with appearance I would say she would probably win the case. Maybe they should have an onsite DNA test if they are so concerned about whether the F or M is correct! Give us a break!

Its just BS. The guy working the door was homophopic is my guess and just took it out on her. Then a spineless manager came along and did not overturn the decision.

But...I bet they lose some buisness if this is getting coverage in a large metro area like Dallas. Which is a very good thing.

I show my 'guy' id all the time even at convience stores, at da mall and of course the bars. No one gives me any troubles except sometimes getting a silly grin on their face which is fine with me too!

For this very reason I am getting the picture on my DL changed to match my apearance. I called the DMV and explained that my apearance does not match my current picture. They told me to just go and get another picture taken. So that I plan to do. I will get my hair done nice before and dress as girly as I can. The picture only shows the head, but will show a necklace, earings, and a nice hairstyle. Hopefully, this will forstall any such hasseling from petty A**h***s in the future.

Lovies,

Ok. I can understand if the person working the door thought perhaps it was a fake id. However from reading the article I dont think this was the case. why they had her stand there for 10 minutes is beyond me for certain. If there was some question about the authenticity of the id. They shoud have simply asked for a second id. Simple as that. I dont buy the crap if it says your a guy you have to look like a guy b.s
