View Full Version : A conversation with your SO only a CD could have

I'm at the pet store yesterday with our two big dogs on a tandem lead. I don't go out dressed, generally, since I'm built like a defensive end and have a beard, so I'm just in shorts and a t-shirt.

A woman comes up to me to compliment the dogs and starts hittng on me; I make it perfectly clear that I'm taken, in a polite way, but she goes on and on. After a few minutes I end the conversation by telling her one of my dogs has a groomer's appointment (which was true) and walk off (she actually followed me in to the groomer "to check on her dog" but the groomer said "I told you five minutes ago it would be at least another 20 minues (grooming her bichon) so she didn't have a reason to stay and the waiting area is quite small).

I tell my SO this story that evening and she, of course, says "What did she look like?"

Me: Abut 5"8; average build.
SO: But what did she look like?
Me: She was wearing a dress in an odd black and white print, with a reddish orange border around the hem, sleeves and the square cut neck.
SO: Was she attractive?
Me: Her glasses were too big for her face and her jewerlry clashed with the outfit because of the color of the trimming around the neck.
SO: Did she have a nice chest?
Me: A "C" cup or so, but she really needed a better bra.
SO: her hair color?
Me: I think she was a brunette
SO: Eye color?
Me: No clue. But her earings were a nice mid-length dangly set that looked good on her.
SO: You're hopeless (laughs). This is not the way I would expect a conversation like this to go with most men.
Me: You know I'm not "Most men" (smiles)

Anyone else have similar discussions?

My SO notices women far more quickly than I do. It's not that I don't look, it's more that I'm happy with the woman I have and another woman has to really stand out for me to notice her.

Sounds a bit like us when we are out somewhere too. And I could add:

Me: I think her shoes are cute.
Her: I think she's too old for them.
Me: I liked the top she's wearing.
Her: She should have gotten a size bigger.
Me: You're just jealous.
Her: So are you!

Hey, that's my line!:heehee:
My ex and I used to do that all the time when we were shopping. She's a shoeaholic so we talked a lot about that subject. There was a lot of "oh, I like those shoes" or "why is she wearing those shoes with that outfit?" It was always fun.
