Menlo Park - In 1960, popkult luminaries Allen Ginsberg and Ken Kesey got paid $20 a session to blow their minds on US Army LSD. In the early 70's, neighboring Palo Alto (Stanford University Gender Clinic) was Transsexual West. Nowadays, Silicon Valley - nothing but Mercedes & Jags, trophy wives & boutiques. Whattya expect from a "culture" of doctors and computers?
Well, I've got my date set - one week from today. A packet of photos, one iPod and suitcase pull of pink clothes bound for the SF Greyhound terminal. No, not SRS - communitarian living. Twin Oaks. Commie hippies. Imagine no gender, it's easy if you try. When you (really) can "do your own thing," passing becomes unnecessary, artificial. I won't turn 50 behind a cash register.
Meanwhile, my mother is about done hiking the (2,000-mile) Appalachian Trail; talk about butch!
