I read that feminine fingers nails are shaped different during a manicure. Honestly, I hate to admit I had not thought of that before. The gist of the CD advice is that we can begin to have a manicurist give a more feminine shape to the nails...if we are bold enough. Does anyone do this? What length do you let the nails grow? Any color used or just clear?
I am friends with someone that has fairly long nails and a french manicure and gets not even a mention from people. He is known for being his own unique person (long hair streaked purple).
If anyone has a picture or instructions on how to file female finger nails, that would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Janine

I looked up 'Nails' ' Manicure' on google. All I got was pages and pages of something by someone called DanaJ.
Don't know if this is any help.
But she probably knows her stuff :D

Since I spend more time in “drab” :( mode I tend to keep my nails fairly short. However, If I know that my wife is going to be away in advance, I will let my nails grow. As I do, I try and shape them into a more pointed/rounded shape. One of the first things I do when getting ready is to apply nail polish.
One of the best time out enfem was having my nails done at a local nail salon. :D It was fun chatting with the lady as she did my nails. (French style :) ). It was two bad I could only have them for the weekend.
My advice is to practice applying and shaping the nails as often as you can. It really adds to the finish girl look.

I have had frustrating experience with growing nails, so I use glue-on nails when I want to dress fully. wenda.

The key to feminine nails is the 'lift' from the sides... It's kinda hard to explain, but when you file your nails, start on the side where the nails is just leaving the skin and becoming white. Flatten these parallel to the nail direction, then round into the tip...
In other words, your nails should not seem to get wider or smaller from their widest point already... If that makes sense... From their widest point out, they should be straight, then round into the tip.
Think rounded-rectangle.

Now just a second, Ava. That's up from the base, around the bend until the curvature begins to peak, then pull back just a skosh, ease up on the throttle, lower the file to the impending apex, slide the file across the cuticle until just before reaching the summit. Ah, yeah. I got it.

Blueprints would be even better.
You know? I just happen to know this nail freak..., um I mean expert, who I'm sure would just love to provide step-by-step instructions on the filing and tapering of claws..., er, fingernails.

Ava Mouse,
Thanks for the engineering explanation: that was the part that I did not understand, how the nails appear to be lifted off the nails bed. You know what? I am going to go to a manicurist and have them done...and when she asks "why do you want them like female nails". My answer will be "because guys like me like to feel feminine". Got some cd hutspa going these days...thanks in a large part to this community.

I always follow the shape of my little finger nail and try to keep them all one length you will be surprised how short they can be and still look good..also buy a buffer it gives your nails such a nice shine you would swear you have clear varnish on...love Sarah.xx

I always try to keep my nails about 1" long and shaped. I don't care for the French look but mine are nicely pointed. But out of all the things I do to feminize my body, people notice my nails right off the bat. Never a comment about my eyebrows or pierced ears, but lots of them about my nails. And I love it.
