Hey girls n boys!

You may re-call me coming out as Sara to a few girls at work over the past few months. Well, the whole office knows now and it feels great!

Here's how it came about....

Was drinking some wine late on Wednesday night and was checking out a popular contact site online 'F***book' (haven't fully named it to respect moderator wishes) I was interesting in doing this as everyone at work is on it. Well, feeling brave and a lil tipsy, i thought i would introduce 'Sara' to some of the girls i hadn't already told but i believed would be OK with it.

As i've been off work on holiday these past couple of days, i nervously checked my F***book e-mails yesterday morning and was expecting the worse! However, i needn't worry as everyone replied and were very supportive and complimentary. You wouldn't believe how long i've waited to be in this position. What a relief and how happy i am now!!!

Here are some of the replies i got........

"Sod it good for you, you are who you are, and i must say one sexy bitch!!!"

"i my god u look well diff very sexy ;0)"

"Heya honey, Hope your enjoyin your day off!! You look great hun!!"

"na not suprised at all! the make ups really good, how long u been doing it? x"

I even got a 'friend request' on the website from one of the very few men that work in my office! How cool?!

Next weekend i'm meant to be go shopping with one of the girls from work too which i've also mentioned on here recently.

Happy days!!! Have a great weekend everyone!

Oh, honey, enjoy yourself to the max! I am lucky to work at home and get dressed as Aly every day, but I can relate to other jobs where the bulk of the employees at my level were female, and how much I wish I could have joined in on some the "girly thing" they did at lunch, ortbalk about clothes and makeup! Have a blast with your girl friends. sweetei, and just cherish the fact that you are one of the girls.

Awww, thanks Alyson!

The icing on the cake would be going to work as Sara but that's maybe for the future!

Have a great weekend, hun!

Sara,

Yours is such a heart-warming story, and a lesson to us all who fear mockery, embarrassment etc. Hope it all works out for you from now on.

Good for you. It's neat because I remember your post about first day at work and how nervous you were about it all.

thats a good way of doing it Sara. I've just opened a f***book account today, prompted by a Sara (not you, I trust). I'm sort of out at work already but ....

That's great and I'm glad it worked. I'm out to a few people (four in all) but I am absolutely positive I will not be coming out to my work colleagues any time soon.

Thanks for your additional replies, girls and boys!

I'm pleased to say that no one has treated me any differently since i came out to my work colleagues 2 months ago. I'm very lucky to be working with colleagues that are 99% female anyway. I could not have done this in previous jobs i've had so i thank my lucky stars my situation has had a happy ending

I sincerely hope that other girls have the same positive experience as myself. To be honest, i would never have dreamed that things would have turned out this way but so thankful it has!

That is so cool! I envy you.
If I could only have that happen without getting blacklisted by a ton of my co-workers.:(
