...or would a multi-tool pulled from a handbag be more appropriate? ;)

I don't know,,

I think the phrase "LadyLike sounds so Grandma-ish.

Be your own woman

Silly! You get a man (another sort of multi-tool) to open it for you and pour it into a glass. It makes them feel macho, and you practice your feminine wiles. First, a bottle of beer and then the world. Whoops! That's supposed to be a secret.

Aw shucks! I thought we had something going there for a moment! Actually, I have seen a man pull his pants pocket out to twist off a cap. Only once, but that was enough. If it is not a twist off, then the idea of having a man open it and pour it in glass is the most ladylike idea offered. If your dressed, be a lady and let the man do it.

From a bottle!

Seriously now, can't you bite of the top with your teeth?

This lady always did. Both drink beer from bottles and open them with my teeth. :D The trick is to keep your lips out of the way so you don't smear your lipstick.

I just use my hand if its a twist off. For the ones that require a churchkey, I always have a bic lighter handy.

Most of the women in my local would deck you if you said that to their face.

A "Lady," doesn't drink any beverage from a bottle. And shame on The Bartender if a glass isn't offered!

I thought of that other idea too. What "Lady," would risk her caps or looks by taking a chance on opening a bottle that way? Opening a bottle with your teeth... Sounds like something that drunk guys would try!

Peace and Love, Joanie

If using your skirk make sure it's at lease a jean skirt, would hate to rune some of the frillier ones out there.

That would all depend on how the bottle opened, either a twist top or a pressed on top. I don't think it'd look all that ladylike putting the bottle the edge of the table and hitting it off now would it?

I have been called alot of things over the years, But "Ladylike" is not one of them. Yeh I drink beer, Just bust it open with your hands or the corner of a table, or over someones head if necessary. Be a man and just chug it down. :p

. . . came from the movie "Overboard: with Goldie Hawn. She puts the neck of the bottle up against a counter and then slaps downward onto the top of the bottle with the palm of her hand. Tah dah - open bottle! The downsides though are that it hurts your hand and damages the counter - either leaving small ditches or breaking large chunks off of it. It's good for a laugh but you dont want to use that as your standard everyday method.

I have seen a lot of ladies do this too. And it is surprisingly attractive. Impressive even.

My question is, "What constitutes "Lady Like" behavior in today's society?"

I suppose the answer is, Lady Like is anything a Lady Likes to do ;)

The skirt is fine but if you really want to be lady like you slide the bottle up under the skirt and use your panties. :drink:

Use your skirt! Hell yes, like this: Find bar stool, hitch skirt up to mid thigh, and say “hey fella I’m having trouble loosening my top!”

As long as you leave lipstick prints on the bottle or can and don't smash the can (or bottle) on your forehead you're ladylike!

Champagne cocktails it is then, with maybe a Black Velvet (Guinness & champagne) to follow. :drink:

A GG did it then give me the beer and did other one. She said that the edges of the top cut her hands so she started using her skirt or dress to open them if the skirt or dress was cotton or wool.

When in drab, I will sometimes open a beer bottle with a belt buckle if there is no other means available. I don't see how using a skirt when enfemme is much different.

Only if your hold your thighs together when you lift it to your beer bottle.

Just checked the rule book, page 123, section 104, item 17. Its ok, but only if you pour it into a glass and lift you pinky finger while you drink it.

Most GGs I've seen in bars wouldn't be using their skirts to open beer bottles simply because they'd be wearing jeans. Secondly, no one else has asked, so I will. What is this neat trick to open a beer bottle with your fore arm?
