New name

Opinions, please? My first name is Tracy, and I don't want to change it legally, etc., because it's a hassle and, in My case, not the biggest deal since Tracy is a somewhat unisex name....but it does sound more feminine than I like...I was thinking about it and remembered that when I was a kid, My brother used to shorten it to "Tra" a lot.....There is a male version of "Tra", which is "Trey".....so what do you all think? :) Could easily use that without the legal hassle associated with it, won't be confusing for My kids or granddaughter....sort of like a nickname, but obviously more significant to ME.....Hope you all had a GREAT Labor Day....**T**

Trey is a pretty good name, I like it. And yeah, it has the benefit of you being able to use it without a legal name change. (Although, at least in the US, you can get a "common law" name change just by using the new name for a certain period of time.)

We get the benefit of being able to pick our own names, which most people don't have. So if Trey fits you and you like it, use it. If it's not a fit to you, then pick something else. Don't feel tied to a name just because it's close to your legal name.
