Ok I know I am a little early for this, but it is something I have thinking about all year:halloween: I have never dressed enfemme in front of my wife or my 2 young kids. In fact I have never dressed for halloween ever-:bonk: as a woman. What do I say to my kids when they see me like this? My wife? She is somewhat O.K. with it. Could someone give me some feedback or encouragement, or just a new dress:D

Are you crazy?!?

This is THE BEST opportuity of the year! Pick a female character. Last year I was a Nurse. It went over real well, and I have another character planned for this year. Try cheerleader, Snow white, Dorothy with stuffed Toto, pretty/hot witch...

Other suggestions folks??......

I do a different costume every year so last year I told my kids I was running out of ideas hence the "drag" costume, they think I should do it again this year!:D

Halloween is the official open season for us - anything's fair game and acceptable to "respectable" society. Have no reservations, go out and be a vamp - and you can just laugh it off to others that you're just playing dress up. They don't have to know how serious about it you really are! Enjoy yourself and try to get invited to a LOT of costume parties! Have fun! :D

Hmmm.... you might try going as a funny female character.
Like maybe a pregnant nun, or a ditzy "Hooters" girl (if you've got the bod), or a sexy mama cat carrying a basket of (stuffed) kittens to find homes for. Humor should prevent your kids from wondering too much. :silly:

Have fun,

Veronica

Funny female characters are no fun.
I would never dress in front of my kids. Even on Halloween. Leave your kids out of this, if you still want to be seen as "dad".:2c:

I've gone out en femme 3 times at Halloween. Two times at a homeowner's costume party. The "best" contume I ever saw was a pregnant nun (the GG was indeed pregnant)! My wife said I was a better girl than she was! Once we went to a restaurant/nightclub as the sponsors of my son's baseball team were performing there.

Karren,
Will this be the first time your wife has seen you fully dressed? I'm sure she knows you wear women's clothes (e.g. a bra & panties), but has she seen you fully dressed as a female with makeup. boobs, and wearing a dress, slip, and nylons? GGs usually don't like that as that infringes on their "territory"..

Veronica Fallon

Well, I was gonna wait a few weeks to post a thread asking to see Halloween costumes, but since Karren showed us her picture, I guess I'll show one of my GGF & I. There is more to her "Domme" costume that makes her more wicked looking (a whip, etc.), & I'll have a chain-leash attached to my collar (like any good lil' subby-girl), & maybe some pink, fur-covered handcuffs too....

Although I've never gone out "dressed" for Halloween (I dress enfemme every day), it does sound like fun.

I'm ducking now, watch out for flying lipstick cases, giggle.

Maybe you should ask your children and wife, for suggestions on what female character you should be.

She's never seen me dressed, not even a photo... Doesn't want to know.. So as long as I keep it out of her face she's happy...ish.. I'd love to go out, there's always a couple TG partys in the area.. But that's not going to happen any time soon.. I did get a new pair of light up punkin light antenni to wear on my head when I hand out the candy!! Lol

No costumes for Halloween for me (usually). The last time I dressed up for Halloween was 10 years ago and, oddly enough, en femme. Will have to see what happens this year because I'll be in Austin for a course.

It is the BEST time to shop, because you can go into any store, say you are trying to put something together for halloween, and SAs will go out of their way to help you! Sometimes the racier the better.
I was going to do my usual ****ty self, black thigh-high lace-up heels, short shiny black skirt, shiny black elbow length lace-up gloves, black wig, etc, but I have put on weight over the summer :o:o, so either have to trim up fast, or come up with a new character. w.

I still don't know what I'm going as for halloween. I don't really want to go en femme, but who knows. I've had friends go as women, but it is usually just them in a dress and a stuffed bra.

I had never dressed as a female at Halloween before either---Till Halloween 2004----

I needed a costume to shake up my adult sunday school class Halloween party---Costuming had been dropping off in recent years, so I thought I would do something really shocking. A "WOMAN" would be great, but struck me as not imaginaive enough---then the idea hit me--- A GYPSY FORTUNE TELLER. A perfect choice--Not only did I get to be a woman, but go over the top in jewelery and makeup.

I was an instant hit. Especially with the ladies, they ALL wanted me to read their fortunes( I had some Tarrot cards). Nedless to say , I won first prize for best costume.

It worked---the next year there were more and better costumes. Indeed it worked so welll that my "Mark Twain" costume that next year won only second place

I was out checking the costumes this morning and they had some great fairy princess costumes, but for 8 year olds. The best I could find for an adult fem costume was a nice black dress with spider web trimmings. It has potential but I just loved the halloween pantyhose there, black with skeletal hands or spider web up the outside of the leg, red with flames or devils up the legs. I have to get a pair, of each! :heehee:

Last year, my Vegas cocktail waitress went over real well, except with the short-short skirt, it was cold, "serving" drinks on the balcony! This year, I'm thinking of a Camelot-style full-length princess gown.

Or, just stay inside, and show as much skin as possible! :belly:

As much as I'd like to get dressed up for Halloween, I think I'm jinxed at that time. A while back, I decided to do a bunch of stuff at work, costumes, a "haunted bar"(I was a bartender at the time) and such. Had already bought everything and had gotten half of it set up at the bar when my dad died. Needless to say, I didn't celebrate halloween that year. A couple years went by and I just did the usual stuff during halloween. Handing out candy and watching tv. Last halloween, I decided to try and do stuff again. I was planning on having a "haunted cemetary" in my front yard, have some ghosts floating around and such. Well, a couple days before, I had to have my dog put down due to him having red mange(I'm a huge animal lover so this hurt more then my father dying) So, I think I'm jinxed at halloween so I'm a little scared to try anything now

What you can do if you feel funny about doing it in front of your kids is to have your Lady say to the kids that she is going to dress Daddy like a girl this year. Halloween is the Greatest time of the year for all as we Can be What we want to be. Take full advatage of it. I did and my daughter loves when I do it and enjoys the benefits of going out with me.:heehee: Joann

My wife does not care for Halloween and leaves the passing out of candy to me. I get fully dressed because it is the one night I can be open about it. Everyone in the area stops by our house because the loot is good and our house is large, thus inviting. I always get good comments from the parents about my legs and how I dress. Even from the late stoppers by that are high school age. This is the one time I even get the guts to go out to the store while dressed, yet do not feel that I comprise my wife or cause toungs to wag. Yea for Halloween!:happy::happy:

I forget the last time I dressed up for Halloween. After I became too old to get candy I just stopped altogether. Nobody I knew held parties here. Glad to see plenty of us will take advantage of the day, but I'd appear out of place if I suddenly started dressing again and in this 'costume' no less. However I might like to get out there and purchase a few things during the season.

I agree with a few of you, just going enfemme is a tired idea. Choose a really nice female costume and expand your options. If I were to go for it one year I'd absolutely adore a deep shiny blue, big poofy ball gown. Go as a princess or prom queen. Even better choices exist by choosing a character from a game or anime.

This year I will not be dressing enfem for our Halloween Gig. We are playing with another band, and two years in a row might bring suspicion from the band members that don't know about Carroll. For the gig it will be something else...if at all. However, its open season before and after the gig (which is actually on the 27th)

BTW, I photoshopped in the pentagram for rhe background in my "offical photo"--I didnt have it with me in the sunday school class party. Although it wouldnt have mattered, us Methodists are an easy going bunch, and we know the difference between something done in fun and serious metaphysical matters. Unlike some other sects, We think other people are intelligent enough to realize Halloween is a fun time and not confuse it with some obscure pagan religion.:D

Halloween in MY holiday but oddly enough I have never dressed en femme for a costume! I'm thinking of going out with Sisters in costume this year though. I may not have time to build my own so I've "borrowed" my daughters old Star Trek costume my wife made, added my tricorder (what! doesn't everyone have one lying around?), and the new ankle boots I haven't worn yet.

What do you think?

Okay, forgive my ignorance, but over here Halloween isn’t the same! When, how, why did it become okay to dress en femme at Halloween? I suppose around these parts of the deep south of England it’s sort of becoming traditional to put on fancy dress for New Years eve, I’m not sure how that came about either except that there’s always party’s going on! It’s strange how celebrations/special days get some how linked with a particular way of behaving: why is that?

That is sooooooooooo hot. I wish my fiance and I could go for this, but I doubt it would go over well with our families ;)

We were thinking of ways in which a couple could both go girls and still be funny. We kind of thought maybe we could both be prostitutes or something( I know, so much more appropriate around family than yours, but you have to understand my family :p ), but we haven't really thought about it too much, but I have a feeling that if he wants to go as a girl then I'll probably end up being a guy! :(

I'm hoping to go as Alice in Wonderland, if I can find a good costume. I think it would suit me perfectly, since I'm more of a literary/ poetic/ artistic type, and I think it would be fun to do the "Little girl" thing at least once. I would hope that everyone would chose the costume that best expresses themselves.

Have fun, that's the main thing.

Well I may have two costumes for Halloween this year. But first - All Hallows Eve, a pagan religious holiday (according to the Christian faiths) was caricatured to Halloween by those same Christians to poke fun at, and perhaps eventually eliminate, All Hallows Eve.

But to the question of costumes: My lady friend wants to dress as a Pimp (male) and have her str8 male friend as one of her prostitutes. I of course would be the other prostitute. Alternatively I did pick up a kewt French Maids costume and even that could be a prostitute of course.

We are gonna have fun no matter how things work out.

As for the original question: I think it makes a difference on what kind of party you're going to. If it's all folks from work, be Abe Lincoln! If it's at your wife's divorced friends house, and she always dresses like a hooker, go for it! Both your wife and kids will understand. Until you wear it again next year.

Sally 2005,
Don't cut your clothes! Wear top half male, bottom half female! It goes over pretty well, and you're not being all that feminine to your co-workers. You could try it the other way, but you'd have to make sure the bottom half was obviously male. Work boots or something.

Yes Halloween, what a wonderful time of the year. Years ago, my friends would ask why every Halloween I go out as a woman, well, my excuse always was that it was the easiest since my exwife and I were close to the same size. My SO now is a few sizes smaller. That's ok, we are headed for the Southwest and Halloween well be in the femine mod. Wish I could get the gut:heehee:s to go to a place like Davids Bridal and try on something really nice. May even buy it if I could get up the courage. Take advantage of the occasion and strut your stuff. You will love it, and who's to call you out on Halloween, put the witches curse on them.

In one of my other posts I explained that I did explain to my youngest daughter not that Daddy wore a Dress but what I really am since I was a child and she understood, I lost my wife in 2001 and have been raising my daughter since she was 10 going on 11. She is now 17 and actually enjoys this side of me. As I am the real me with understanding from my female side to alot of issues. As far as Halloween think about a witches costume but be a good witch not a bad witch so that your children can see you made up as a woman and see their reaction, this way you can see if they are ready to understand, At this time also you can ask the normal question such as what do you think? You may be suprised as to the answers. I found by intermingling with them and talking to them it is more of an understanding who you are then a statement that "Daddy likes to wear a dress" Kids have a better understanding then we think. Good Luck! If you want to talk email me Joann0830 I am straight and a parent to two wonderful and understanding girls 30 and 17:happy:

I saw a Halloween T-Shirt that had a picture of candy on it that said "The Reason For The Season", I thought One with a crossdresser on it with the same message would be cool!

OK, I'm on my way. I have my thigh high tight black lace-up boots, lace-up black gloves, lace-up black stockings. Just bought a new black wig, studded leather mask, a leather and chain choker, a leather and mesh bustier, three new leather thongs, a killer leather mini skirt, a leather vest and a long hooded mouton cape. (too bad Ms Janessa lives so far away!)
I had an informal appointment to meet my friend who owns the great lingerie shop late yesterday, so I went in wearing my #9 breast forms, attached, with a sheer bra, under a loose men's shirt (you could make out my nipps), under a loose men's jacket. Good thing, she had another customer in the store. We discsussed some committee paperwork, then she said, "Ok let's see what you need, something like this?" and handed me a wholesale catalogue with a great braless corset. I said if I had that body and those boobs, but this is what we have to work with, and stood up and removed my jacket and undid the shirt. :D
She smiled. Her store is long and narrow and we were at the rear, so she asked me to step into a dressing room in case someone came in. Then she brought me a series of things to try on, with the door open of course. Big smile. I think she liked watching me dress.
She couldn't find anything that we liked,:( so she suggested a guy who makes custom leather corsets. A truck Driver. OK. He made hers. She said she thought the sizing session went into more detail than needed. She has a great bust, and I said, 'Well, Duh!":heehee:
So, now I am waiting for my appointment with the truck driver for my leather corset. New adventure! :D

On second thought I may go as that famous lady who rode a white horse. Godiva. I discovered this lovely blonde wig at a costume shop with extremely long tresses that go all the way to mid calf. I was thinking nude under the tresses with a suitable thong and ankle strap stiletto heeled sandals.

Wow, I dont know what I am even doing for halloween. I have never got out dressed, Or even left my room dressed. I might just put on a skirt and a top with some heels, and just keep it simple or be a cheerleader. Any suggestions?

For OCCdresser;
I agree this would be the best time to take the plunge, after all Halloween ranks second only to Christmas in consumer spending and this partly the reason for that. You could go to a party and get a feel for your first en femme experience. There will be such a party, sponsored partly by a store in Chicago that specializes in high heels and is VERY TG friendly, on 27-October at the Galaxy Banquet Hall in Schiller Park, IL and starts at 7:00 p.m. You live not far from me and within easy range of Chicago so it's something to think about. Check the chicagogendersociety website or email me for more details.

All the best

Halloween is always something of a letdown because my life is so full of playing different roles... i always go as something disgustingly manly

I'm going out en femme for the first time this year to Guavaween in Tampa. I really have never been fully dressed before, so i'm really excited. I bought a dress, forms, and everything. Today my wife and I are going to go wig and shoe shopping. Hooray!

I was thinking of going as Elvira but It is looking like I will not be able to afford the suitable clothes so I may have to go as a fortune teller. Sad part is that I had a co-worker give me a ride to the store to buy a halloween wig and told him of my plans and he told 2 people who told 2 people and now everyone knows of my plans. To make matters worse, they are all hoping that I come to work dressed, something that I am not sure that I am ready to do. If it was just them, well, OK but the customers that come through the door might be shaken, not stirred.

I would say 'Go for it". If your co-workers are supportive, the customers will soon get the idea, and probably appreciate how much you get into the team theme. We once had a very stressful meeting with a banker. The date, October 31, didn't even register with me. He showed up to our meeting in complete vampire mode: slicked back black hair (he was naturally a dull blonde), white pan face make-up, etc, etc. He did take out the fangs for the meeting. Talk about ironic?!? If I had thought, I could have driven a stake through his heart, oh, if he had one.
You know your customers. If your customers are from the energy or livestock industry, I would bet they would say "Good for you.". If your co-workers are hoping for it, what do you have to loose? You had the guts to do it, and if someone raises a fuss, just change. One-time opportunity. :D w.
