I've been trying to figure out something...when I go out, I like to show off, but I don't know if its pure exhibitionism, or I just love the shock value. Even when I'm immediately clocked as a CD, it's still kinda fun! If you have seen how I dress (micro skirts and stockings) you can imagine imagine how shocked people are when they see me pumping gas or walking into the Wal-Mart to buy a soda or bottle of water from the drink machines. Maybe exhibitionism and "shock value" are the same thing, I don't know.
Any thoughts?

Well Nicki, Anyone going in to Walmart in stockings and a microskirt will shock and stun anyone. Your appearence is in this setting is so out side of their usual experience that they do not know how to react and engage with you.
Therefore they do not and avoid and stay away from you. There may be some resentment and hostility.
If you dress more conservatively, then people will know how to,and feel more comfort in meeting and engaging you as a person rather than a freak. There is more posiblilities of interesting and rewarding encounters.

Well JenniferPaul, who said anything about wanting engagement? I LIKE it when people freak out. If I was trying to seriously engage, I would dress down, I actually think I may be able to pull it off half of the time. The only engagement I'm getting now is from guys who want to F**k. I hear the laughter sometimes, and I can deal with that. It's worth it to know that one out of ten maybe thought I was a sexy girl.

I'd have to say it's exhibitionism, my SO is the same.... such a show off.... wonders how many heads she will turn and if she will get read. It's quite amazing watching someone who doesn't want to go out, or runs to the car so you don't see them, but once out there it's like 'look at me I'm out here'. If you are purposely dressing to make heads turn, your def an exhibitionist :p You should take some pics and post them.

Nicki,
Your going out and knowing in some cases that you get "read/clocked" is interesting. You are perhpas unwittingly to you, our ambassador. This is a two-edged sword! One, you represent all of us who are crossdressers and in so doing make society aware that we exist, albeit many of us would never leave the "safe" confines of our home! The downside is that you represent us (to those who may read you) as as as How can I say this???? as a bunch of pervert clowns?? I know that that is not your intention, but it does put us all in that category for the vast majority of society who do not or want to understand us!! I have gone out dressed in what I call a "conservatively sexy" style, knee length somewhat tight knee length gray skirt and white silk blouse and was called a "****" by a GG. No self-respecting GG wants to be called a ****. Again, the two edged sword, I had definitely passed, but I was disrespected and that reflected on all GG's.
I will say thank you for being out there as our ambassador, but you may wish to look beyond the exhibionist aspect?

I dress 'cos it's me, but the shock value is definitely something I enjoy (once I've managed to get the nerve to dress in public)

I have to agree with Virginia. It is great that you are out there and calling attention to the fact that we as a class are not generally allowed to wear cloths that other half of the human race is allowed to wear. However, this Exhibitionism can also back fire and cause people to reject us and try to put a stop to us having the freedom to wear skirts.
With that said, you girl go and have as much fun as you want with those micro-skirts. Would love to see some photos. :)
