Hi all,
I always assumed that most CDrs wore wigs but that does may not be the case. I do but I have really crappy hair and could not wear it long or even short but still fem. So Ive set up my questions as a poll. Please take the poll and please add any comments about your experiences with/without a wig. If you wear what brand and type?

Thanks,
Luv and Hugs,
Patti Remick

My real hair, Long hair is a lot less work then a wig.

I'm mostly bald, and shave what remains, so I always wear a wig.

Wearing a wig is definitely easier for me than most!

I have fairly long hair but there is not much on top and what is left is gray so its all about a wig.

I got sick of wigs i have 2, I spend enough a month to stop my hair falling out so i might as well enjoy it, I've been growing it out now for the last 5 months, am starting to get few coments about are you growing it longer, hope to get to at least shoulder length. Had a maintance trim into a bob stlye the other day which makes me look a lot more fem and has set it up to get some nice even length.

I'm fortunate enough to have long, curly hair that falls halfway down my back. In drab, it is always in a ponytail. When dressed, I'm STILL teaching myself how to style it, but I'm getting better!

My biggest obstacle right now is my forehead, which is getting bigger every year! :(

I never had the money or nerve to get a wig so I let my hair grow. It is down the middle of my back all the time now.

I too wear my hair long and don't use a wig. Even though my hair is thinning in the front. I think I am doing OK because I went to the local Loews home improvement store (twice in the same day) and well both times I was called Ma'am by the cashers. Blow my mind :o. It was without any make-up also. I wish that I could get into a habbit of appling make-up every time that I went out. Good luck on your outings too.

I always wear a wig, but it does have it's plus sides as well as it downside. (ie a wig will never be as natural as real hair, but it can come very close!) However changing colours and styles and length, is much easier using wigs.

also remember for ever TV out there using there real hair, there is a RG using wigs for ease of use, style, and fashion.

I use to have long beautiful hair but cut is all off when in my twenties.:(

Now I have a new long beautiful human hair wig. I still have my cheap shorter one but hardly ever wear it now. I cant keep my new one off now.:D

I had long wavy hair, it reached to my waist at one time. For me, no wig could look as good as my own hair did. Now it is still shoulder length but a bald patch has developed and the whole lot is rather threadbare so I'm forced to wear wigs if I want to look feminine. For those MtFs with long attractive hair....enjoy it while you have it.

I wear a wig now but that is because of a compromise with my wife.
It used to be shoulder length and i kept it on a pony tail when in male mode.

yes it is shorter now but a real cute cut that can go fem at any moment.

Well, I've had a buzz-cut for the last ten years, so when I started going out in public, I wore a wig, but things have changed. Now, if I'm in my semi-fem mode, skirt, fem top, little makeup, I'll forego the wig. If I'm going out in full-fem mode, forms, full makeup etc., I'll wear a wig, I have about six of them, all Revlon wigs.

However, last month I decided to let my own hair grow, so now I'm wearing a short style fem wig, close to what I think my own hair will look like, until my own hair is long enough to get cut and styled.

:heehee: If I had hair of my own it could play its part in dressing, sure. But it went over the horizon some years back....male pattern balding is NOT a passable look!!! On the other hand, I have been bald on top for so long that wearing a wig feels uncomfortably hot after a while. Maybe that's mostly down to it being a cheap synthetic haired thing. Might a human hair wig be cooler??

A wig is a must if I go out, but around the house,my own hair is ok.Years ago, I did have long hair, and I liked it soooooooooooo much better! So much easier.Speaking of wigs, now is a great time to have fun with some cheap wigs at the Halloween stores---I found one for under $20,and it looks great; I might even wear it when I get out next time!

Male pattern baldness means that a wig is definitely required. My barber thinks that I have great hair, but she thinks that I am always male.:winking:

I have never gone out enfemme and don't own a wig but I do plan on getting one sometime. My natural hair is very curly and when I was a little kid all my female relatives would comment on how they wanted my curls. :heehee: I could never let it grow to any length because my mom would be on my case to get it cut and even now I'm in the habit of getting it cut when it starts to get long. The longest I've had it was shoulder length, but my hair is so fine that unless I tied it back, the least amount of wind or removal of a t-shirt would mess it up. Nowadays I'm thin on top but not bald, however I think a wig would be easier than trying to grow long hair and try to get it looking decent / girly. Hmmmmm. :p

LOL The 2nd last time I got it cut the hair dresser was freaking out how long and curly my hair was. I swear she was getting all excited. She ran off to the bathroom and came back calmed down. LOL

My hair is my own. It's long and very thick and I wouldn't give it up for anything... But I do kinda envy the girls who wear wigs, because you can change your hair style to fit your mood.

I'm 71 and a victim of male pattern baldness.

I'd like to have a wig that would look like the hair style of Shirley MacLaine in "The Apartment". The problem is that all the wigs I see on the web are made for ladies with smaller heads than mine.

Where do you suppose I can get what I'm looking for?

Way back when, my hair was blonde and quite full and I could so easily comb it into a femme fashion whenever I wished. But these days..., not quite the case! But even still, I find that my wigs now can bring out so much more femininity than I never knew was possible before. My current favorite is a medium-red from Beauty Trends called Bayside. So love it!
