coffee shops and small cafes usually don't have big bathrooms. they almost always are for just one person. Check out a few in drab and then when out en femme you will be ready when you need one. if someone gives you a look when you come out just smile and look confused. you can probably use either one. and buy a cup of something!

Most of the newer small shops here have only one small unisex bathroom - which makes it easy.

Also as for me, for years now I have had no problem using a ladies bathroom if it is single stalled and you can lock the door. When in drab, if the mens room was locked/ taken, then I would just use the ladies room and lock the door. After seeing women do this (use the mens room) I figured no one would care. And they don't.
