Since I have a gay friend in Pakistan I think I might have a clue.
Well I will listen as long as I get equal time to rant and curse for no good reason (giggle giggle).

If your going to "vent," please do so. I can't begin to imagine the difficulties you face. We fight for rights in this country, but if we were to compare our daily lives, I have it very easy indeed!
I've got quite a few friends who have emigrated here, and found they couldn't go back. They just couldn't deal with all the repression and intolerance. Your English is so well written, I am guessing that you might have attended school here and got a "taste," for how things could be.
Is there any way you can seek work out of your country? It's not the perfect solution, doesn't change attitudes, or anything substantive, but it's some relief for you!
Peace and Love, Joanie

I am sure that there is some positive aspect in your life that you do not need to complain of. Although your life may not be the happiest try to maintain a good attitude. Having said that please feel free to express any opinion, belief of experience positive or negative.

...vent on....it's actually nice to have a reminder of the freedoms many of us enjoy, even when they are less than we want.
Heck, I whine...and when I think of it, I have nothing to whine about..
I live in the US where to a certain extent my dressing might be protected under various anti-discrimination statutes.
I live in a very large metropolis where if I wish I can be completely anonymous in less than 10 minutes.
I have a wife who supports and encourages me.
I have kids who would be supportive if they were to find out. I choose not to tell them.
Doesn't seem I have much to whine about..the floor is yours whenever you wish.
I do have some questions though if you are up for them. to the extent that you can, and feel comfortable(safe) in doing so, can you identify your country of origin, tell us if possible about cultural/religious aspects of your society.
Also I would be curious if by magic crossdressing was possible for you in a manner as open as you wish, what sort of feminine garments appeal to you? do you think in terms of western wear or more cultural specific items...so much to be curious about here. I hope it doesn't seem prying...

I read in an old Mitchner novel, "CARAVANS", that there was a class of kinda CROSSDRESSERS in Afganistan, men who took on the roles of women in public. They did this to sorta fill the social void, walking with men etc., because real women were not allowed outside. It was suposedely acceptable.----This was in pre -Talaban times of the 60's and 70's and long before as an established tradition.
Mitchner commented that he speculated that such crossdressing was common and accepted in countries and cultures , like Afganistan, where there was a great degree of "sexual dimorphisim" (ie. two forms---the men and women dressed and looking drastically different).
Pakistan is close by. I thought this custom would be at least known about or tolerated. I dont think its done in Afganistan any more though---I think it changed durring the Soviet occupation.----any comments? is it true?

Can you tell us a bit more (keeping yourself safe) - where is 'here'? Also - what should we call you? :)

Having been in the military, I think I may have a pretty good idea how things are. Where there is a will, however, there is always a way.

If you were to look in the New Member Introduction section you would have read this, she wrote....."In my world, the middle east if you follow your gender you're gonna get killed or raped"
To me that shows that she is from the middle east.
