I see myself as a 4, but my wife says that I will very soon be able to pass, so she probably sees me as a 2. However, I have never been out in public, yet. Passing, as previously discussed on this forum, is sorta, debatable. Looking like a female is one thing, acting, and sounding female, seems to me, very different. I can walk and move at times, female, but the mannerisms have to be learned over time. I seem to be spending alot more time watching women, all types, learning their hand gestures, different walks, and their interactions with people. Then there is the voice problem, that one is REALLY tough. Although I don't hear myself as all that male sounding, I'm sure I don't sound very female, even when I try. That's going to take a long time to figure out.

I'm not nervous, when I go out, and I'm always treated like a lady, with courtesy and respect. :)
Three weeks ago, I flew to Chicago and went through check-in, TSA security, and car rental without any issues.
I even used my male ID and nobody blinked an eye or gave me a second look.
That was my highlight of the year. :GD:

Even though I know I can pass, I still have things that I can improve upon, such as my femme voice, so I'm not content at where I am.

I'm afraid I'm a 4 too. Maybe, if I was able to acquire a wig, apply good make-up (or have some drastic cosmetic surgery!), and with enough corsetry or padding, I might just be able to go out....but there would still be my voice. Much as i would love to experience what it is like to walk along the street, go to the shops, a restaurant, cinema, etc. as a woman, I am resigned to that never happening.

Hey, my wife drives our 1 ton dually with the camper attached. Of course, she wasn't wearing a dress (but then she rarely wears a dress or a skirt, that's my territory, LOL).

I did not try to disguise my voice but I probably couldn't if I tried. I'm at #3 at the moment and working towards a more convincing appearence. I'll never be 100% convincing, but as long as I can reach the point where I'm not turning too many heads because people are looking at the man in a skirt/dress who just walked past then that's good enough for me.

#2 as I read it doesn't really make sense to me compared to the other options. Did you mean #2 is someone who can pass if they want to but chooses not to go out in public dressed up?

Interesting questions, Melora. I know that we have a broad range of members here. Obviously, some do pass and go out that way all the time. For some others, I would guess that living and passing 24/7 would quickly tire since it would take away the "excitement".

Myself, I'm currently satisfied to dress at home and feel feminine and only be slightly femme when out and about (panties, flat bra, small earrings, maybe very light lipstick, just enough to remind me how I feel). I don't know that I would want to put all the effort into being passable (even if I could) every time I go out.

I think those guys are either a little crazy or just so into girls like us that in their minds lots of us are totally passable to them LOL.
The only thing about myself that I find totally passable are my backside and my legs. They do look pretty feminine. Even as a kid in high school I had more than one GG tell me that my backside and legs looked girly!!!

Finally went out dressed 2 weeks ago, gay bar in Halifax ( Eastern Canada ). I don't know if the dark light helped me or anything, but judging by various reactions, I would say 2-3. Does a drunken guy hitting on me count ? Maybe not, since he was feeling so bad after he heard my voice... Scored more points on the dance floor since loud electronic music prevents talking. A gg complimented me on my breasts, and grabbed then after saying they weren't mine :straightface: . I've been whistle at on the street.

But most Ggs seems to avoid crossing my eyes... Maybe I'm just paranoid or trying to mind read too much... are they reading me ? or just shy/polite ?

So if any1 can help rank/comment, I would appreciate, that mixed bag of reactions was confusing.

I do work almost on a daily basis dressed and feeling great. I am a cosmetologist and also do permanent cosmetic and use dressing as my "attraction" thingie. It is surprising how many people come to me "just to see what I look like". I love it and can't keep a big smile off my face most of the time. I am fortunate to be smaller in size and can comfortably wear low rise tight jeans and 5 inch heels.

Well in my minds eyeI am a "one" but in everyone elses eyes I am a 2.8. I go out all the time and people do call me mam a lot but that's just sales girls doing there job and not wanting to offend the customer. I get fully dressed and shop at least once a week now and just love it every time. Based upon the criteria stated, I am a 1 as I do dress completely, have been out in public 100's of times and have shopped, carried on conversations with women (more than with men), used the women's restrooms, perfomed many errands, eaten lunch/dinner, etc. and have never had anyone make a comment or do anything to indicate that I was not being accepted as a woman. I cannot tell if I "passed" or if I was just being accepted as the woman that I was presenting.

I have been out as a girl a few times and I'm told i pass by my friendly ladies. I feel that I'm much less likely to be made by men, as by ladies, who are naturaly far more attentive to details, but far more forgiving as well. Next time you see someone drive by, ask yourself whether they are male or female , and importantly what gave you that clue on such a short glimpse, and let that temper you actions. Yes it is how you look, but the fine manerisms set the scene.

I am not sure where to put myself...been out dressed to parties many times...not public ones. And to a fetish night in a nightclub plus a gay nightclub on another occasion. I went as a french maid for halloween, all my close friends (that i've known for 5+ years) did not even recognize me and totally thought i was another girl ^_^; Although since i dont have a voice down the moment i spoke was when everyone screamed in shock and surprise haha. that was so fun =D

I am a 3. It would be nice to be a 1 or 2 though. I don't have boobs but it doesn't matter to me actually. I also just use my own hair. Probably should get a wig but hey what can I say. I haven't really tried to get one. To me it would be great to just be a woman at all times. That could happen someday and I am hoping for that day soon.

No matter how hard I try to change my male "look" to my much preferred female "look" I can't!!!! Why you ask, well for one thing the Good Lord has given me unmistakable male features and no amount of make-up can alter that.(He does have a sense of humor) so I dress and stay home and long for the chance to go out but can't, oh well I guess I will have to chance it one day but not yet.

I always dress totally, not partially. I go out often but I wouldn't say I pass 100% of the time. When I'm trying to pass, I guess I make it probably 80-90% of the time with most people. I pretty much get treated as female 100% of the time and that will do for me!

I had to pick "1". Every time I have gone out dressed, I have had no problems. I have been addressed as a GG and treated as a GG. I am sure some have read me, but never had anyone ridcule me to out me in any way. Guess I need to keep my fingures crossed. LOL.

Like some of us here, I find myself between numbers 2 and 3. I have been a large number of time over the last 40 some years and have never had a problem, other than in my own mind. The voice, like some have mentioned, is my largest issue. Other than that, I seem to have had little problem in passing while out and about. I have more often than not done my own makeup, but have had some professonal work done and found not much of a differnce in what others see or how they respond. Another issues that sometimes causes me concern is my height at 6' 1" and in 3" heels. I become a bit more aware of what and where I am going.

Im somewhere between a 1 and a 3. It depends on how hard I try and what I wear. I went out to a rock night at my university in my first year as a girl. All my mates new who I was, but lots of other people got confused. My flat mates who didnt know thought I was a girl. I silenced a bar when I walked into one of the rooms whilst everyone tried to figure out if I were male or female, and me and my gf cleared a dance floor! lol. All in all a really fun night.
