Skeptics - can't help ya here - this is just my opinion!!
I don't know how many of you believe in reincarnation, I'm not 100% sure I do, well yeah I do...but I have no explanation for it.
I had a dream that has stuck with me my entire life, and someday I may type that dream up - I had it when I was a child...before I could remember dreams...(If that makes sense)...
I have ZERO idea what I was in a previous life if reincarnation exists but in writing about the music post in the MTF crossdressing forum I remembered something that happened when I was 5.
This will out me in a heartbeat if any family was here..
I was CONSTANTLY playing with my testicles like "Wow, this is new" - and I can remember the feeling I had back in that day when my dad finally had enough of it ....I wanted to be just like my sister.
So he made me hold two rather large rocks, one in each hand and stand around in the y ard - I can still see it today....37 years later...
So there are times I dream and in my dream I am NOT a male, and whether you believe in out of body experiences etc - those dreams are of flying, with a female freind (although you don't SEE a female you know it's a female)...
It's like you can feel how things are but can't explain it? I believe in reincarnation and that spirits do have out of body experiences and perhaps see other spirits alive or dead....
If it's all true, I wonder if we are stuck wtih the same gender each time we pass through........THAT is the question I wonder about when I'm lying in bed trying to fall asleep...
Or is there a gender? Maybe not, maybe it is all physical and mental - and in that case my mental and physical are crossed.
And I'm not high, stoned, or mentally ill.......:)
Just spiritual. Still believe in God. I just believe that it is possible we go through this a few times until we get it right.
So for that the Indigo Girls song comes into play "Galileo"...

Yep, it's a spiritual thing and if you WERE stoned you could talk all night on this subject.........:)
I just sometimes wonder if I was a woman in another life....

I firmly believe in reincarnation, and I believe that nearly all of us have lived many lives as male and female.
When I was 16 or 17, I had a dream that I will never forget as long as I live (this time... haha). I was in this dimly lit room with two huge men, and I was forced in there. The next thing I knew, I felt this incredible pain... down there, and it went far up into my body- the kind of "down there" pain that men don't have... I was forced into having an abortion. I woke up with the strangest pain that I ever had.
Then a couple of years ago, I had another dream where I looked down at my feet, then over my body, and I was a Roman gladiator walking into the Coliseum preparing for a battle in which I had a strong premonition that I was going to lose (and thus die). And in the dream, I heard my present-day voice in my head telling me that it was going to be okay- that even if I died, it wouldn't be the end of me.
So no, I don't think your ideas are at all strange.

One thing I have been very curious about since I was a kid was the Vietnam war...I was born in the middle of it...I feel a strange connection to it but nothing specific...
I have never recalled a dream I could place as a different life though.
Now, I was in to meditation DEEP many years ago, and really studied out of body experiences but that's another topic for another day or email me :)

I know reincarnation is real. I have been with my wife in other lives. We fit together so well, it is clear we have had practice. Just took us a little longer to find each other in this one.

I didn't used to believe in reincarnation - and I didn't even think about it until one night, many years ago, when I had a 'dream' which changed my life.
To call it a 'dream' just cheapens the experience in so many ways. This 'dream' was like 3D, colour, multi-movement, suddenly knowing things without being told, feeling someone elses emotions - and making total sense from start to finish.
When I woke up I was very emotional and in tears - my life was never the same again. It was a very uplifting experience and as if all the lights had been switched on enabling me to understand so much instantly. I would go on to have similar dreams on rare occasions afterwards.
Now, I believe in reicarnation 100%, no doubts. I've even have had dreams about past lives. I think reicarnation offers an explantion as to why we are the way we are. I was told by a 'meduim' some time ago (who had no idea of the real me) that in the past I have usually been female, but this time around I chose to be male ( I won't make that mistake again!).
So what you tell me doesn't surprise me in the least, I totally understand.- And to answer your question of do we have a choice of being male or female? - yes we certainly do.
Reincarnation is really the meaning of life. Each life you go through you face different challenges and experiences. Everything that happens to you, good or bad , happens for that reason.
I better stop now before I get carried away !

Hi Hun well nothing wrong with how ya feel and the further down my pagan path I travel the more I am believing that I may have been a man in a former life. Others have suggested this to me and I have took it on board. It has been suggested that it may be bits left over from another life too that have passed on through to me and that's why I am experiencing the things I am now. So don't let go of these thoughts and feelings Hun cos they are yours and personal to you xx Felix :hugs::hugs:

What I believe is That all our souls have a Gender That we picked. I think that our souls are parts of god's that broke off to learn more about the universe that she made. To bring that information back to for the greater good. When we are born our souls are drawn to the minds with the same gender as our soul.
And When we die we chose to be Ether reincarnated into another body or rejoin God with all the knowledge we gained (I don't believe in an all knowing god.) I can remember Vivid memories from times I never been in. (joke: I'm having flash backs to wars in the future that I never been to!) I also Think God gives us one challenge in each live to overcome So that she can learn more. In this life for me is Being stuck as a man. :\ Last one I remember was a field Gunner in WWI German army. anyway that's what I think in a nut shell.

Well, I believe in reincarnation, but I don't believe we have a choice in the matter - at least I don't think I was given a chioce. I KNOW I was male in previous lives and that my soul is male, and from the time I was very little I was sure that I was given a female body in this life to teach me some sort of lesson. :slap:
Maybe I was terrible to women previously and had to atone for that by living as one - who knows? I can certainly relate to them much better now (and am quick to defend them), so I would say I learned whatever lesson I was supposed to. So maybe if I'm a good boy from now on, I can come back as the boy I'm supposed to be next time. :praying:

This reminds me of what I read from people like Michael Newton. I also believe that our soul has a "preferred gender", and that we are drawn to bodies of that gender. As far as how this plays into being TG- I could speculate for hours on that, but I do think this idea has something to do with that. Being TG could very possibly be that challenge that you mentioned- because there are loads of challenges that go along with all this.

I have thought about this on more than one occasion. When I think about it I often theorize that our spirits are comprised of an energy that never dissipates. Instead it passes on from body to body in which it does not have control over the determination of sex thanks to human anotomy.
This spirit or energy however, is female, male, both, or neither; sometimes not matching the sex of the new host. I often think that something went wrong during the pre-birth stages of my conception, and I ended up being born a male when I should have been born a female.
Some of my thoughts are also right on par with the other posters such as what CaptLex spoke of it as a form of punishment. What I do know is that if this were true, I really learned my lesson. I want my female body back! :p hehe!

I believe currently, that the soul has no gender. I think we have all been male and female many times. I guess different lesson plans? If it's true that the soul has a "perfered gender", I hope mine is female, and on the next tour of duty I want to be female.

I understand about "Reintarnation." That's when you were a hillbilly in another life!
Seriously, if the phenomenon exists, I would suspect that we would have been both sexes at one time or another. If we just go with the idea of "random probability," the odds would be good that you had at least a few femme personae in your past.
Now whether Past Lives would have anything to do with your CD in The Here and Now...that would be pure conjecture. The Concepts of En Oui, or Deja Vue, might make us think we had past lives as females but who can say. if that were true, it would seem that you would also have dreams and passing thoughts about previous male personae also.

I consider it possible with the right circumstances in a one in a billion happening.
This world is too messed up for reincarnation to be the rule. It seems to me that the “purpose” would be to learn. Man keeps making the same mistakes and has for 5 thousand years. Now only bigger. Instead of just destroying the ecosystem of a small region we are doing in the whole earth.

Our perception of "Purpose" is limited by our incarnation. No doubt it is clearer "in between" when we're assessing the just-past life and planning the next appearance. If we consider the extent of the universe and the depth of Time it may seem then that a planetary life cycle is itself a very short part of the ongoing Drama of existance.

There was another post called "Before and After" and I showed the before and after photo as who I was before, I was visiting my Mom one day and was looking for photos for the family tree that I was doing and came across this picture of my Great Great Grandmother and when I saw her face, her hair wavy and parted as I do. I started to get chills up and down my arms. I then noticed something more and that was her Cameo on her dress. The reason I say this as a child of about 7 til now 59 I have always loved the cameo pin and even collect them. When I had asked if I could have the photo my Mom had said yes, when I framed the photo and placed it on the wall, I remember my youngest daughter looking at the photo and saying look daddy in a dress.
My oldest daughter and my spouse also said that I seriously look like her and it was kind of spooky. Attached is a cropped version of the photo and as I said before the other full photo is in the Post "Befor & After" I always believed that I was a female in my prior life and this proves it to me. Shirley Mac Claine wrote in her book "The Camino", that she believes that the soul has both genders but at some point it splits into a female and male persona. Each half then spends a series of life times learning and growing and searching for the other half. Some of us are lucky enough to find each other many times. She also states that some souls are yet to be split and therefore still have both genders.
Shirley believes she is the male half and has found her female half many times. Each experiencing the other's gender.
I have yet to decide my own situation but do feel that this life time is my lesson 'what it's like to be male'. And that I'm on this path because I rejected my female side during my last go 'round.
I do hope I get it right next time.

Only 5000?
There are writings that are found saying this is man's 5th time around, over 15,000 years in the doings, previous great war.
Cave paintings in Peru painted 15,000 years ago show what looks like an F15 fighter shooting...
I think we've never learned, power corrupts and all that...

Ok lets start with Adam & Eve and asumme they were reincarnated and their reincarnations were reincarnated and their childeren were reincarnated and their offspring were reincarnated and so on (get the idea?) the Earth should be covered with people standing shoulder to shoulder miles high gasping for air and it's not why not?

I once tried to commit suicide over gender issues. It was many, many years ago. I Closed the garage door, started the car, and sat there. For a very, very long time.
I came to the realization that there ...might not be anything else. If that were the case, what if I suceeded in killing myself? I had allways believed that there was some afterlife (brought up strict catholic,) but when I came to that while I was sitting there, that there might not be any afterlife, I also came to the point that any life, no matter how F*d up it was, was a starting place.
I turned off the engine, walked out of the garage with a really splitting headache, and never tried again. From that point, I have also worked under an assumption that there is always a solution. It might not be easy, but there is always a solution to any problem.
I still think there is an afterlife, but now I temper that... It is also possible that this is all there is. If so, I best make it as good as I can. I think many people commit suicide thinking that they can start over? Big mistake if you're wrong. Best do what you can to get this right. What if there is some possibility that there is an afterlife, but you have to qualify by doing this one right? No matter how weird or bizzare the task is that is put before you? One chance to get it right. There is some beauty in that concept too.

I think we've never learned, power corrupts and all that...Good point, Many scientists feel that civilization has fallen many times in the 20,000 years. The sphinx is at least 5,000 to 10,000 years old. They found structures under Stonehenge by x ray and using sound, that go back at least 10,000 years the same under the Hill Of Tara in Ireland. As a matter of fact Tara may be older than Stonehenge!
And one day in a few thousand years they will find the remains of our civilization wondering what happened. Hope Bush will leave a apology!

Not the spirit. But if I had a choice I would be a female in all incarnations from now on. In the old past females got the S#@ end of the stick.

i can remember when i was very young, i had this recurring dream that i was a slave girl in Rome. i had this same dream many many times and i would be doing various things in the dream, including providing sexual favors and being punished.
now you may say that this was my fantasy, but frankly, at that age i knew practically nothing about Rome and what went on there. and i also knew little about such fantasies.
when i was older and in high school, i remember reading about Rome and some of the things that went on there as far as sex and i said to myself that's exactly how it was in my dreams.
so who knows! maybe there is such a thing as reincarnation. and maybe there is a reason for how i feel today.

May be we as spirits have not experienced this mix of gender and the ability to change it before, and, as we have lived forever we are now moving to a new phase of life "experiences".
After all the greatest purpose of a spirit is to sense life and all that goes with it.
Is that too deep or what ?

I have had time travel dreams. I see people in costumes, and somehow, given the size of the Omniverse, anything is possible. When I awaken from certain dreams, I am sad, because I felt SO connected to the people and places I visited. Perhaps the feelings of deja vu (been there before) can also apply to people we meet in waking consciousnes, as well, since we are often attracted to,or afraid of/turned off by them. (vibes, we called them in the hippie days). It's good to ponder these things. Our ancestors did.
