Do you ever get called "maam" or "miss" while not completely en fem? Or maybe my definition of completely en fem is a little skewed. All of my clothing is women's although not overtly fem (for the sake of discussion I'll leave my fuscha top out of it) and I wear and naturally fill a bra ( 44B) daily with panties and knee high nylons. I've also let my hair grow and it's now shoulder length and naturally wavy.

With that being said, the past 6 months I realize I have been called "miss", "maam", or been referred to as "she" more and more lately. I'm not really trying to look fem (ok I'm lying) but I don't consider myself completely en fem without a skirt, make up, jewelry, and a purse, although I suppose the ladies wallet I carry might qualify somewhat there.

The longer my hair grows the more I get refered to as the female gender. Now if I style my hair I suspect people think I'm GG 85% of the time. That is wearing just jeans and average shirt. Crazy.

Without seeing you it would be hard to give you an evaluation of you. That said, regarding me, no, I don't get called m'aam or miss, or whatever, when in male mode -- although all of my jeans, shorts, and tennis shoes are women's. I always underdress, which really doesn't count as far as this discussion goes. And my jeans, shorts, and tennis shoes aren't overtly feminine.

That happened to me once, not too long ago.
I went to a medical clinic to get some x-rays done.
I was in drab wearing business casual khaki pants; dark red colored polo with baby blue stripes; and loafers.
When I finished registering my patient info, the clerk said for me to go ahead sit and wait for my name to be called. Then, she ended the conversation with calling me "ma'am". Once she realized what she said, she chuckled and said "Opps! Sir".

I kind of chuckled too and then found an open seat.
I wasn't offended by it at all, I just said to my myself "She must know that I dress. Now how did she know that?"
Anyway, I thought it was kind of funny.

Once I got called "Mam" twice in one day. Wife, sister, and I went to a local casino for my wifes birthday. We stopped on the way to have breakfest. The Wateriest keep refering all of us as ladies and when she took my order said "thank you mam". Both wife and my sister both looked at me. Then at lunch it happened again. The Wateriest refered to us as ladies and it was my time to order she said, "Mam what would you like". She took my order and left to order them. Wife looked at me and said, 'Guess we are a lady today". I laughed and said, "Guess so". My sister just sat there and shook her head.

I would love this! It just doesn't happen to me and I hate being called "Sir".

I have been working at my femme voice, and I like playing this game of pulling up to a drive through, trying on a femme voice, then pulling around and seeing what reaction I get... It's fun! You should try it. If it's a good voice, and you are not femme appearing they get confused for a second. However, the last time, the lady said "thank you, Ma'am." Talk about warm fuzzies! What a difference a voice makes! It fools with normal people's attributions. So cool!

I have had that happen once or twice, I think its because of my fem sounding voice. I am always mistaken for a female on the phone:D

Once in a while it happens at the first glance (I am even fairly bald ).
At the second glance the people look a bit confused :D

When I'm shopping in guy mode and buy something like shoes, skirt, clothes, etc., and I have struck up a conversation with the sales associate, I love it when they say "enjoy this hun", or sweetie, of something feminie like that.

Unfortunately, when I am in guy mode, I do not look like a women.

Few days ago, happened to be called "Miss" when I was going into the mens fitting rooms to try on clothes at Kohls. My SO always tells me I look fem from the back with my longer hair, narrow waist, and small behind. I wasn't wearing any outer fem clothes, when a Kohls SA came up behind me telling me I "couldn't go in there" (mens fitting room), but when she walked in front of me and realized I was a guy, Wow! Was her face bright red! Little did she know I was going in to try on a skirt, jacket, a couple of silky blouses, and a pair of guy jeans! LOL BTW, all items fit me well - except for the jeans. Guess what items I bought.:heehee:

I'm just happy if I get a ma'am when fully en femme.

When I was 19 there was this guy who lived next door who called me "Rhonda" sometimes. At that time I went out a whole lot partially fem and I would do my own hair, too which was shoulder length and tinted a thousand colors. I've also been called "Missy" and "Mam" and I just don't know if the people who were calling me that were being derisive or if they actually couldn't tell if I was a crossdresser or not. Anyway, I still crossdress, but the texture of my skin and hair are different now than in those days which is by way of saying that I was almost passable back then.

Today was a good day for that...if i dont let my beard grow for 4 days or dress like a lumberjack, i get ma'am frequently....tonight went shopping for my haloween outfit...i dress up like a secretary and work my wife's office (i work there anyway but i do it en femme on halloween) and all three women at the clothing store (Catherines) asked if i wanted to try on my selections before realizing i was a guy (that seemed to just be holding my wife's selections) then went to Olive garden where the hostess asked a server to seat these two ladies...was a good night!!

Hi Paula,

This has happened to me a few times. One time was in our local Raleys supermarket. My wife Marla and I were waiting at the end of a long line at the checkout. Not all of the registers were open. We were just starting to wonder how long we would have to wait when a voice from behind us said “if you two ladies would like to come with me, I can serve you here”. They had opened another register and we were being called over. When this happened I froze. “surely they can’t be referring to me I thought” “Come on, that’s us” Marla said. I had been mistaken for a woman, as seen from the back. What was even weirder to me was that I have very little hair but I was wearing baseball cap and the checker seemingly mistook me for a woman. I can only assume I was partially obscured from her view and she identified me from only the size of my body (which is little), what I was wearing, and my shaved legs and sandals. When we walked over to the checker she didn’t say a thing, she acted as though nothing had happened.

Another time was when we were shopping for some home improvement products at Home Dept. I was wearing a fairly girly t-shirt, women’s jeans, a baseball cap, and women’s white tennis shoes that had pale pink trim on them. We were looking at paint brushes and a woman behind us was struggling to get passed with her cart. She said "excuse me ladies". I turned around to look at her and she exclaimed to Marla "oh sorry, but it was his shoes!". I guess she was looking down because from the back I didn’t think look that girly but perhaps she saw just my shoes and legs ... anyway, it was a trip!

I have been called Mam and Miss in male mode, it feels nice. I was called that a few times with my SO with me, and she did not like that at all, hehe. But I loved it.

This happens to me a lot, even when I'm trying pass for butch (flannel shirt, dirty jeans and so on). I happen to be very small and wear my hair in wedge-style bob (which can be fluffed up and look femme, or combed back to be butch.) I've never been called Miss, darn it, just Ma'am.

A number of male overshirts that I wear are rather flowery and effeminate (I used to try to hide my femininity but it's amazing what you can get away with without people making fun of you), and I only get my haircut once or twice a year, so I have been mistaken for a female from the back a few times.

Only once did someone see my face and think I was a woman. I worked in the mall at the time, and whenever I worked the opening shift we (me and my two female co-workers) would go to the bank to the deposit the money from the night before and then go and get coffee. My hair was fairly long and I had just shaved about an hour before. When we got to the "cafe", the woman behind the counter said, "Good morning, ladies. What can I get for you?" It wasn't until I opened my mouth to speak (I have a rather deep voice) that she said, "Oh, I'm so sorry! It's early." The only thing I could do was laugh.

This is kind of a good example of dressing down instead of dressing up. I think that times that I dress in a "sexy" outfit makes people look more and detect more. I have been out shopping while dressed in my fav tight jeans and just a t-shirt and its amasing how helpful and nice people are, especially the guys who seem to stumble over themselves to help a girl out with her shopping experience. This all done not in male mode though, wearing my standard 36DD bra with my fav silicone breasts help attract positive attention too. I have never had someone call me miss or maam while in male mode though... well perhaps with some persistance I wont have to always worry about that. I am envious of those who can have the look even in male mode...that would be great !

I get this quite often as I have long hair, EVEN IF I am dressed like a Heavy Metal Goth type sometimes! I just turn around and say What in a Mannly tone, just to see the reaction!, .. Hehe..
This is usually done by older people, however, who I am sure are still not used to guys with long hair after all of these years, and all of the changes that They have seen I am sure..
And Yes.. I am nice to them ALWAYS, after my, "WHAT!" comment, just kinda fun though. :)

I get called Ma'am occasionally, usually older people or just being sarcastic.:heehee: I just smile, it's usually not mean.

Without seeing you it would be hard to give you an evaluation of you.

Now that you have put up a photo, I can see where you would probably get a lot of "m'ams" regardless of mode of dress. When I'm in basically male mode, even with the woman's jeans and shoes, I think I come across as masculine. When I'm en femme, I come across as feminine. Now that I see what you look like, I don't see a gender blur at all!

I've been called "miss" or "maam" when in definite male mode and even when I'm with my wife. And my hair is short and a bit thin to.

Must be the feminine part of my energy field they are picking up on.

It's definitely a compliment being treated as a female, even more when not even dressed! I get it a lot, and I know it's cuz of my long natural blonde hair, which is tied back mostly. So I just play the part as best I can when I'm not seriously dressed up.

Well I'd love to be called "miss"...but I think I'm a bit too long in the tooth now for that!:p I get ma'amed though in male mode and Penny and I often get the "ladies" greeting in stores or restaurants too. I find it pretty humorous actually. One waitress actually got real apologetic after she realized I was a guy. I think she was worried it was gonna affect her tip. :p
