There is a driver who makes regular deliveries to my workplace who calls me by the female equivalent of my male name. He has no idea about my dressing,it's a longstanding joke between us. Anyway was in the canteen at lunchtime sitting with a female colleague. The driver came in,went to use the coffee machine, saw me and came over and said "Now then G......,what you been up to then...",etc! My colleague laughed in surprise and said "G........"? "Aye",said the driver,"He's like an old woman, always moaning about one thing or another"! I managed a laugh and no-more was said.

Later as we were leaving at days end I mentioned I was getting some shopping before going home. My colleague said "Don't forget your stockings,G.....". Without thinking I replied,"Nah,I prefer tights myself"!
"Oh yeah"?,she replied, with a clearly quizical look. By now we'd reached the bus stop. "Yeah",I said,"See you tomorrow",and headed off thinking "Damn! What have I said"?

I obviously have no idea of her views or opinions on crossdressing but I Guess tomorrow I should get an idea from how she acts as to whether she's just taking it as a joke or thinks there may be something more to my comment. I'll let you know what,if anything, happens or is said.

People joke a lot about CDing, so I don't think you need fear any developments. I've made jokes to a co-worker about wearing dresses and high heels, but I really don't believe she has any suspicions about me. I don't give people at work any concrete evidence of CDing (for instance underdressing, bra straps showing, etc.)

It was last summer I was ordering some "specialty doors" in a particular color, (taupe to be precise, kinda like sandtone) I guess I slipped a bit when I commented about the "taupe" saying "yeah like the color of my stockings"
Whoops.

It would sound like your reply was just a quick, smart*ss answer. I wouldn,t worry about it. If she mentions it again just say something like "they didn,t have my size" and laugh!!:D

Yeah. I once was late meeting friends downtown for a show. Apon meeting up with the group, I entered the cirlcle of friends when two of the girls where talking about dresses. When they asked why I was late, I said something about spending the day as a woman, losing sense of time, then having trouble getting out of my dress. They all laughed, imittated me dressed as a girl,, and forgot about it. Actually I was telling the truth, and for some reason, I decided that I could get away with admitting this at that moment. And believe me, they don't know about me,, (liking to spend time as a woman.) If they did find out, two of them I know for sure would disown me as a friend. They just thought I was joking.

If you are like me, I'm very quick with a come back. Usually along a funny line. And if your co-worker guesses that you were being funnie, it won't be a big deal. Just an idea, ask her if she wants to see your tights. And then show her your soxs....BJ
ps. I hope they are short...

Well we ended up having drinks and conversation in the pub after work yesterday and I came out! It began along the lines of "Yesterday.....what you said........you WERE joking..........you don't really wear tights do you? Now maybe she's an expert at reading peoples body language or facial expressions but before I could say anything she looked straight at me and said "Oh God......you do don't you? Took me three seconds to think 'sod it'! and I said "Would it bother you if I said yes"? That seemed to throw her. "You're serious.....I don't know...guess I'd want to ask why".

So I said not now, tell you what, let's go for a drink tonight and I'll talk to you then. We ended up talking for nearly two hours, she asked all the questions, how long had I been doing it for,did I wear anything else, was I gay,did I want a sex change etc. I was pretty candid with some of the answers. She said she'd never have thought of me as a tranny in a million years (her words). I said it goes to show you can never tell. "No.....I guess you can't". She was pretty calm about it,didn't say anything today but gave me one or two knowing glances! I think things will probably be ok.

I hope things work out well for you. It sounds like she was more interested and not judgmental about your dressing. I would take that as a good sign.
