I read somewhere that a tricky problem for a MTF prospect is that while Spiro may be an excellent anti androgen for all its benefits and also to permit estrogen to do it wonder with less challenge , a person who wishes to 'function physically' like a new woman may be creating a problem with her future vagina. I understand that the no longer functional penis is inverted and "voila!" a nice female vagina. Well, if this appendage is reduced to a small percentage of its former vainglory, I visualize this as a problem . With a two year 'real life' experience as I hear of it, I would think it would be hard to keep the little boy from becoming useless for a future vagina.I think I read also that some SRS individuals may take viagra or testosteroneand masturbate , curiously, to help keep that part healthy for later use. Anyone know about this? Helen

Well, the only thing I could say is that it's the stretchiest thing on the body. The skin is still all there, it's the tissue inside that shrinks with time on spiro. Most of that tissue is not used to form the new parts, just the skin, and the nerve bundle is used as part of the clitoris with just enough inner tissue to be able to create a clitoral erection when sexually aroused.

Some SRS surgeons use a skin graft from the thigh or belly if there is not enough tissue available in the penis. Penises come in all shapes and sizes, just like people, and not all are suitable for penile inversion.

It is highly unlikely that your penis will shrink away to nothingness no matter WHAT drug you are taking. If that were true there would be a lot of happy campers saving a lot of money on SRS.

I do believe that Amber is quite right, and though you may experience some shrinkage, it's not enough to cause any future problems with SRS. Trust me, I didn't have a lot there to work with and my doctor was able to work wonders, it wasn't a problem.
