My wife and I went to church today. I decided not to wear panties and hose during the services. Any of you girls out there have any advice on this subject? I did wear panties yesterday, but not today as after church we put some decorations up on our deck and the front of the house.

Thanks in advance - Delilah

Church. I went today. Panties, pantyhose, ladies sweater and socks. Not a whole different than I dress everyday. I feel church is for my spiritual development and has nothing to do about how I dress.

I have gone to church many times dressed. I did Easter Mass this year and the service was pack. Nobody has ever said anything to me if they could tell if I was a man.

Well, I've been thrown out of 2 of the prettiest Chatolic churches in the area, so I don't go anymore. Actually, I was a voulanteer teacher at one of them, but we didn't see eye to eye. That was after I paid for all the computer equiptment and most of the sience equiptment. The school was a K thru 8th grade. I went to church twice a week with the kids, so I didn't feel I needed to go on the weekend, but they thought I should. I couldn't be about donations. That year, I donated over 5K....BJ

My wife and I have gone to catholic mass many times where i am dressed enfemme. One time when we had to turn to the person behind us and offer the Sign of Peace by shaking hands I guess my hands were rather large and masculine and my grip very friendlybut firm, because the old italian man said in Italian ," My God they are letting anyone in here now"( my wife speaks and listens and interpreted for me)

I've been to the local MCC a couple of times and was accepted with open arms both times.

Thanks for the replies. I will say the wife and I go to a catholic church that openly accepts gays, so I think there would be no problem with people that crossdress.

no problem here - not done it yet as wife wouldn't approve but my God is not interested in the colour of my panties. Did have a tranny in a couple of years ago and the girls particularly were really welcoming. some were a little frosty but people will always be that way so one day i will

I've never understood the unacceptance of many religions concerning crossdressing. I mean, GOD made me this way. Didn't he/she?

Better for a man to beat his wife and kids than wear female attire.(In their opinion)

I've always been taught, all men/women sin. We're the ones who grade the sins. To GOD they are all the same.

Well, as an EX minister (EX wife outted me), I hope God isn't checking underwear during worship. I don't broadcast that I wear panties and cami and hose 24/7.

Our church is pretty open and accepting. The Mass at 10:30 is usually standing room only. Most of the people that attend do not live in the local neighborhood and some travel 50 to 100 miles each Sunday to get there. This is the kind of church where you feel better when you leave. Our choir is 40 members strong and we have a 8 piece band and the place Rocks! Thanks for all of your comments and Happy Thanksgiving to all.

I go to an MCC church in Fort Worth, TX. It is very open and accepting. Most of the people who go are GLBT. There are several CD/TS who attend.

I think if you wear panties and nobody can see them that you have nothing to be concerned about, myself, I love to see the ladies dressed up so fine, and secretly imagine myself looking like that, but don't you know, they would much rather see you looking manly so give them what they want and enjoy what you get in return -- Amen

If it is summertime and the dress is mid-calf length or longer, I might go regimental. I wear at least hose if it is any shorter, panties definitely if it is above the knee. If you have any slightest doubt, err on the side of caution. (Or were you talking about wearing them under your male attire, i.e. underdressing?)

(In my Episcopal church that I sing in the choir of, I'm in vestments for the length of the service. It's coffee hour where I get to show things off.)

I have gone to church many times wearing one of my best dresses, hose, and heels. I have been welcome every time. I am accepted for who I am, not the color of my panties or slip I am wearing.

HAHAHAH!!
Aren't you the one who also said "Oh no, I hope the GOVT doesn't know I am wearing panties!" Girl you cannot get ANY privacy can you? HAHAHAH!!

But on a serious note - I have been to a couple of MCC services in my old town. Yeah MCC has NO problems with GLBT and sometimes the preacher is gay/lesbian.

Normally I just don't get into the whole church thing. Personal preference, that is all.

Girls, I think a really fun service would be if a bunch of us showed up at Fred Phelps church one Sunday... :heehee:

There is nothing wrong with wearing panties!
By choosing not to wear panties to church you are implying that wearing panties is wrong.
Do you believe that God cares more about what is in your heart or what kind of underwear you choose to wear?

I'm Catholic and in the Cannons (laws) of the Catholic Chruch there is nothing that forbids crossdressing.

I don't know the Bible well enough to quote book and verse, but there is a admonishment about men wearing the vestments of women and vice versa. Personally I ignore this. It is outdated like other parts of the Bible, and it has no bearing on my relationship with God. Still, while I am growing closer to not caring what others think about me and who I am at heart, my wife does not desire me to go public with my clothing choices. And I respect her and what she puts up with from me to much to go any further, so no church in dresses for me. One friend did quip after Halloween though that I should join the women's group and bake for the holiday cookie sale. Greatly tempting if I'm honest.

Deuteronomy 22:5
A woman must not wear men's clothing, nor a man wear women's clothing, for the LORD your God detests anyone who does this.
Deuteronomy 22:4-6 (in Context) Deuteronomy 22 (Whole Chapter)

I too ignore this. I was raised in the protestant faith, which most American's were, and I firmly believe in the King James version and protestant religion. However, I am not a practicing christian, I also drink, curse, watch porn, lol, I do lots of things that are very wrong. But that's just a chance I am taking I guess. But yes, crossdressing is VERY wrong, as is long hair on a man, (which Paul teaches us in corrinthians), but I also have long hair. We are free to believe as we individually wish. But I would advise everyone to research it thuroughly, because "Your opinion" of what's right and what's wrong will do nothing for you on judgment day. Better gather some facts, decide your faith, then hope like hell you're right and everyone else is wrong. There is only ONE correct faith, all others are in for a rude awakening.

It’s OK to be the person you were designed to be…The important issue is that you have the heart for marginalized people…When I say marginalized for example I mean the homeless…

Most large cities have at least one MCC church. My Tri-Ess group meets at one here in the DFW area.
As for Deuteronomy you have to consider what this chapter is taking about. It was old hebrew law to prevent men from dressing a woman to get into the womens quarters and women from joining the military and things like that. I don't they really had any concept of this appling to TG people back then.

This verse has become a bit of a red herring - unfortunately not for my wife who takes it literally and struggles with it. I think someone posted a contextual explanation of it and the rest of the levitical laws here on this site and a reference to a learned chritian scholar. Most anti crossdressing christians don't even quote it in their arguments

As JoAnn says, the Bible, particularly the Old Testament, has to be read in the context of the times when it was written.
And also both biblical and current Church teachings are more liberal in many ways than a lot of present day Christians.
Myself, I am a part time CDer so I can attend church in drab without inconvenience. I prefer to do my worship this way so as not to offend the exaggerated sensibilities of those in the congregation. God knows all about my CDing anyway, so He wouldn't be shocked if I turned up to Mass in a frock. He knows it is all just part of my journey.

I am in total agreement with Dana (InSearchof Me). I wear panties almost all the time, so usually wear them to Mass. Sometimes I am even up on the Altar assisting the Priest. God has not seen fit to strike me down yet!! I think He is just glad that I, or anybody, go to church!!

"I did wear panties yesterday, but not today as after church we put some decorations up on our deck and the front of the house."

As an agnostic, taking the biblical stories so seriously has always been a mystery to me - a leap, so to speak. But to compound the mystery, what does putting up decor on the deck and the front of the house have to do with the choice in underwear? That, to me, is nearly as puzzling and worthy of further exploration. Joni

I'm confused.

As you were putting up decorations, and panties were called into the question, I am inferring that your panties would be visible. If not, why mention them?

Anyhow, I would prefer that panties be visible, rather than that which they are meant to contain and obscure.

So my advice is to wear panties or tidy-whities, and certainly not boxers or "go commando".

Hope this helps ?!

Which begs the question. Do the laws in Deuteronomy, Paul, etc., make any more sense than some of our current laws such as...

Illegal in...
...Alabama, to drive while blindfolded.
...Switzerland, for a man to relieve himself standing up, after 2200hrs.
...Ohio, to get a fish drunk.
...Scotland, to refuse anybody the use of your toilet if they knock on your door.

The MCC church is great for alternative lifestyle people. I think MCC stands for Metropolitan Community Church. I went to a few services there when I first went fulltime, and it was nice, plus it's a good way to meet other accepting people, possibly even that "certain someone".

And of course God knows about all of us, and She still loves us.:hugs:

Church is a serious subject to many of us! I struggled with it for years before I was able to reconsile Biblical teaching with my feelings. I personally see nothing wrong with wearing feminine clothing to church. But, I also know there are some in my church and other churches that would literally come unglued if a man appeared in their church with feminine clothing on. There are hills I'm not prepared to die on and that's one of them. I have worn every thing feminine underneath for years with no problems. I enjoy my church and plan to continue enjoying it. I have absolutely no aspirations to change it even if I could.

I haven't gone to church in a long time but the way I understand the bible is we are suppose to live our lives by the new testament not the old testament.
As stated about wearing clothes of the opposite sex. If you are going to live by the old testament then you also need to watch what you are eating also.

NO one is going to spoil my gluttenous fun!
I hate to say this but I think when I do have to answer for my life, my CD'ing will probably be the least of my sins.

But with allowing anyone into church, well, from what I understand as a friend tells me, God is more worried about wanting his children to get to know and love him, and not so much about what "sins" one commits. So Megan, rest assured you are welcome there, no matter what you wear [as long as you do not go in naked]

But I ain't getting into it as religious debates are not my thing....
