View Full Version : Epilator on the Face? Ever done it? Silly idea?

Well... One of my lesbian friends just offered to do my makeup someday. This is an idea I like... But I have problems with the beard shadow, and the (extremely fast) regrowth. Basically, I keep hurting myself when shaving... I can never get a close enough shave, and after 8 hours, theres already some visible hair. The next day its not decent anymore.

So, being a bit afraid of the permanent aspect of laser, and being somewhat short on money, I had the idea of using an epilator on my face (I own one already). Now, would that be a silly idea or not? Assuming I can tolerate the pain (using vodka if needed :D). I used it on my legs and it lasts so much longer than shaving, and gives a much smoother finish.

I'm just wondering if anybody has actually done this or attempted this, and if so, I have a few questions:

1. How hairy are you? Did you complete the whole face?
2. How did you manage to handle the pain?
3. How were the results (was it smooth, any visible beard shadow?)
4. How long did it take for visible growth to come back?
5. Did it have any permanent effect? Was your beard ruined afterwards?

No way i'd try it. I am such a wuss when it comes to pain like that. I am still trying to figure out a good concealer for beard shadow, the only place i have it is my upper lip and my chin.

If I were you, I'd get a good concealer and forget about a temporary fix, such as what you have in mind.

I tried it once. For about a nano second. Talk about hurt.

A concealer is actually a temporary fix.

Now, seriously, someone has to have tried it :D

I epilate with tweezers, and would try it if I had an epilator. Tweezerrs are a lot less painful than electrolisis and laser.

Give it a go (with the epilator) and see what you think. If you don't like it you don't have to continue.

I haven't done the whole face yet, but working on it. The lack of facial hair is nice, and the regrowth after tweezing is slow.

When I shave I use the Aveeno Positively Smooth Shaving Gel and the Aveeno Positively Smooth Moisturizer. They work well in retarding hair growth. Took me about three weeks to get it to work. Advertised to work in around 4 weeks.

I havent used one. I don't even know what one looks like but I know what they do.

What I suggest you do is physically pluck ten chin hair our with tweezers.

Seriously. Give it a go and you will see.

Then multiply the pain and bleeding by 10,000
