When dressed in male drab during the day I almost always have my fem. undergarments on. Bra, Panties, Panty Hose, light make up, I'm sure you get the idea. While setting in McDonalds sipping a coffee and reading the morning paper a fellow setting accross from me noticed my ankle bracelet, I might also add that I was wearing a pair of ladies jeans and ladies loffers that expose a lot of the ankle area. He came over and asked if he could share the my booth, as we were talking he told me that he was a crossdresser. We chatted for about an hour, made plans to meet at his house. And to think all this took place at Mickey D's at 8 AM,....You never Know.....

Men who wear hairpieces are usually pretty good at picking out other men who are wearing a hairpiece.
Do you think the same holds true for cross dressers?
Do you think we can pick out one another in a crowd?

WE must be giving out some sort of signal.

Couldn't prove it by this guy. I'm hopless when it comes to reading other people, be they bi, gay, or TS/TG. Anyway, it's all about me, Me, ME!

I don't think it's a matter of reading someone. I think for the most part we tend to pay more attention to what others are wearing.

WE must be giving out some sort of signal.I think wearing clothing sold mostly to women would qualify as a signal.

Good luck with your new friend. I hope things work out well for you.

You should ask your new found friend what telltale CD sign gave you away. Please be careful and cautious of your surroundings!

I'm not sure that I could pick 'one'. I tend to treat people as people - not who or what they may be.

Perhaps a more public place for the first couple of meetings would have been more prudent. An hour over coffee is not long enough to get to know someone.

I wish you well Paula. Have fun but be careful and always, always be in control of the situation at all times, especially with someone you just met.

I always found that going to a public place wether it be to out yourself or the meet with a new friend is the best. But anyway be causious and have a good time.

Hey, you get a chance to make a new friend. If everything is cool, there are now two of you and that's the beginning of a Group. I don't know that hanging out at Mickey D's is going to find you any more CD Friends, but we are a lot more numerous than people think....maybe a lot more numerous than what we might think too.

Over in Orlando, we hit a straight bar one night and met this guy who HAD to come up and talk to us. He claimed to be a cop, and after some candid conversation, he loosens up and tells us that he dressed as a child. He never got to the part where he admitted to "indulging" as an adult, but I think that was probably the rest of the story.

All of us might learn from this, we need to be more perceptive. Next time someone smiles at you, don't immediately assume that they are going to make fun of you or worse. It might just be a smile of recognition.

Peace and Love, Joanie

Gays can find other gays with their "Gaydar" I've never heard of "Transdar" however.
