I recently watched a documentary called "Cruel and Unusual" about some transsexuals who are in prison and the horrors they go through. One of the girls spoke with a really deep, manly voice. At first it seemed strange, but after awhile I got used to it and thought it's no big deal. It's just part of who she is.

I found a short clip from it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d8jfCWlnOZw

Suzanne Pleshette, comes to mind, her voice was very deep, but nobody would ever think she was a male.

So, there is hope that with proper feminine inflections and accompanying facial and body behaviour that you are not dead in the water. Hold off on learning sign language!

Practice, practice, practice! And while stretching out your drawl, throw in a little sexual allure, and smile a lot!

I also think it is much easier to develop a feminine voice with a southern accent than say a "Brooklyn" accent! So, you're probably ahead of the game.

just my :2c:
