Some of you may have seen Miss Petra post in "Upcoming Events" re: a CD Xmas Dinner Party here in LA.

Well up until a few weeks ago the thought of attending an event this close to home was just a dream. But as many of you know a few weeks ago my lovely wife dropped her own bomb shell and bluntly told me that she knows I'm a CD and will always love and support me!! Well that day I nearly died of shock...

Fast forward to today and I mentioned the upcoming party and how I'd like to go to one of these some day and she sez "I think you should go to this one. After all these opportunities don't come up that often!!" :OMG:

So here's the dress I'm going to wear.....

57934

So, I need some advice or suggestions on shoes and jewelery.... colors, etc.

I'm thinking RED as it is a Xmas party. But, I'm open to suggestions!!

I'm also looking for someone CD Friendly in the LA ? SF Valley Area who does alterations. My new dress needs to be taken up about 4 inches.

I'm sooooo excited. I can hardly contain myself!! :Party2:

I don't think it would be a crime to go with that lovely emerald shade seeing as green is still a Christmas color. A green dress might fit more situations besides this one than a red dress would. Just somethin' to ponder.

Megan, For accessories, it depends upon how much of a statement you want to make. For a more subtle look, go with a shoes that are black patent, suede, or fabric. Also subtle would be chocolate brown or nude.

For more of a statement, go with shoes in silver or gold. I know it is christmas, but stay away from red shoes. They would detract from the nice green dress.

For jewelry, a nice set of pearls or a nice pendant on a chain at the neckline would be great Remember, if silver shoes, silver jewelry and gold with gold.

Carry a nice delicate matching bag.

Megam . . . That is a real nice dress. Why don't you go back to the store where ou bought it and ask them for help. That is their field of endeavor, so they should know what to get. Have a great time at the party.

I'd wear the green dress. Us redheads look AWESOME in darker shades of green. I'd opt for a complimentary pair of strappy sandals with about a 4" heel. Dressy in looks, yet comfortable enough for an evening on your feet. Nude or suntan hose probably will look best also. Just my:2c:. Hope it helps.

I vote for pearls! The shoes can be a variety of choices. I would go for strappy sandals over pumps though.

I find that my red wigs look the best with greens. Also, that I like either gold or silver shoes, but must have matching jewelry and purse. I hope u have selected an appropriate jacket or coat? If u wear a long dark one, any color except blue or purple should work.
How about gloves? U probably won't find matching green ones, so I suggest short white or black ones. Unless u choose gold accessories, mid-length gold gloves mite work.
Jeez, listen to me! You'd think I was going! Maybe I wish I was!

If it were me, I'd have to go with something silver for the shoes and sterling jewelry. Also a silvery purse to match the shoes.
You'll look divine, I'm sure.
I'm afraid I'll miss it though, 3,000 miles is quite a long walk for me. Hehe.

Don't forget to get plenty of pics...

White pearls and green shoes. If you can't find them they can dye them in a day at many shoe stores. Just take a pair of heels that you wear very seldom and make the change on them.

........... it depends upon how much of a statement you want to make...........
Jodi

Thank you to all for your wonderful suggestions. Jodi asks the real question. "How much of a statement do I really want to make?" I'm thinking somewhere between "WOW" and "OMG" would be perfect.

I do have a pair black patent and suede peep-toe pumps - or - a pair of strappy teal (cork) wedgies but they may be a bit too casual.

In the jewelry I do have a pair of faux pearl earrings and necklace that could work.

Now originally I was thinking of shopping for a pair of strappy or peep toe silver pumps (4" of course) with a matching silver clutch. Then going with the faux pearls or finding some silver jewelry to match.

But you've all offered so many good choices and suggestions........:daydreaming: ..... decisions, decisions...so many choices.

I do love shopping...:heehee:

Keep'em coming girls...lot's of time to shop between now and the party.

Strappy heels in silver or black and a matching clutch would be my recommendation. As for bling, a simple pendant with matching earrings would be lovely. Finally, instead of a coat, have you considered a shawl? Perfect for your cool nights. You can get faux pashmina in any color you want, they look very dramatic and elegant!
