View Full Version : What's your worst experience when you've been out en femme?

I still remember my worst one like it was yesterday. About the third time I risked a drive in the car during the day, I looked in my rear view mirror to see a police car behind me. Thinking I could just drive away, I made 3 turns only to find he was still behind me, then a moment later he turned on his lights and pulled me over. I was almost paralyzed with fear. I was in a sweater and skirt with amateurishly done makeup and short hair that I'd covered with a scarf.

When we walked up to my car, I rolled down my window and smiled at him. He looked at me and said, "Do you know your tail light is burned out?" I shook my head no as I was afraid to use my male voice. Then he said, "You're going to get that fixed right away, aren't you?" Again I only nodded my agreement, and then he said, "Ok, go ahead."

My heart almost burst. I had no idea of what I would have done had I been forced to show him my male license. I guess the gods were smiling at me that day. Naturally I drove right home and it was months before I went for a drive again.

Hugs, Marci :hugs:

Teenager experimenting, out in parents car, parked on a deserted road near an industrial site. Had makeup on and subtle female clothing. Just after I arrived, a police car came rushing up, the officer jumped out said "Hi Miss, what are you doing here?" I said 'nothing!, just sitting here' he asked for my id. My eyes started to water up and I wiped my face clean. He said he thought I was a girl and said I was free to go, but that I should talk to someone about the dressing up. He also said he stopped me because the indiustrial site was having issues with theft and vandalism. For years later I was worried that there was some record on file about me and didn't dress for ages. Now I know better, but what an experience...far from what I imagined to be the worst case, but it was at the time.

The only time I ever got pulled over while en femme, I did get a citation to show in court for not having proof of insurance, but the policeman cared less about how I was dressed.

So anyways, my worst experience - I brought this on myself, but going to the mall on a satruday night wearing a real short skirt. Yes, the same time the younger crowd goes to the mall. Several people made snide ass comments.

Other times it would be just some creepy mam following me and trying to score.

Honestly, my only bad experiences were pretty much avoidable. Nothing really ever violent, never messed with by the cops.

I got arrested for being in the women's restroom at a mall. They let me tske of my heels, make-up, bra, and wig before they put me in a cell though. I was charged with "disturbing the peace".

Never had a disaster out in public so I will have to relate an aggravating time out.

I was in Virginia and went under the Blue Ridge Parkway. I decided to take a photo standing in front of the huge BRP sign there. I got out and set the camera on the car and turned on the timer and ran to the sign. Just then this family in a station wagon pulled up between me and the camera and offered to take me to the closest service station for help....

"My vehicle is fine, I don't need any help."

"A pretty young thing like yourself can't be left stranded out here." (The wife did all the talking)

"Car isn't broke down. I am quite fine."

It's no trouble at all. My husband will get out and see if he can get it started then."

"Ma'am, I said my vehicle is just fine. I appreciate your concern but you can leave because I am just fine."

"Wouldn't think of it dear...Honey, get out and see what's the matter with her car."

I grabbed the camera and hopped in and drove away. Nope, never got the photo. Nope, lady never seemed to figure out I wasn't a pretty young thing either.

Nope, lady never seemed to figure out I wasn't a pretty young thing either.

You look like a pretty young thing to me.

My worst was going to the mall a couple months back. I had great confidence going in, but I was read by everyone (I am one of those that like to blend; not call attention to myself). But I made this a positive experience as I went home, did more research on beard cover and make up. I went out 2 weeks later with new make-up and no one gave me a second look.

On a side note, when I first told my wife about my crossdessing, one of the things she said was "but what if you get arrested?" haha... It's not illegal!!! She stoped and thought about it for a second and realized that there is nothing wrong being in public dressed en femme.

I've been in a car accident at 4:30 am sunday morning. It was pretty bad but I could still drive it home - after filing a police report. Not my fault of course. It was daylite before I left the scene.

I've had my car break down. Altenator went and eventually battery and car went dead. Had to Stand on corner and hail a cab in bad neighborhood at 4AM sunday morning returning from NYC. Then I got out of the cab at city limits (where the fare would double!) just to take me the last mile. Had to find a cash machine to get more money and hail another cab which didn't come for another 45 min. Fortunately weather was warm. Once again saw daylite.

Been pulled over for drunk driving. I was fading lanes and he was right behind me. Got out of the car, did the breathalizer ect. Supposedly I was "marginal". Not sure I believe it but the officer let me go with specific instructions where to exit the highway for coffee. We could see the exit where we were standing.
I really was tired (mostly). Only proof I might have really been lucky on the breathalizer is that afterwards he did that "shine the light in my eyes" test. Since I didn't measure very drunk, he was probably checking my pupils thinking maybe I was on drugs . Those I never touch. This one scared the crap out of me. It was a rare occasion for me to drive like that. Now it never happens.

On a 32 deg windy nite I had to wait outside, over an hour to find a cab in NYC and evetually took the bus. That was kind of crappy (& cold).

Walking through crowded (very) penn station in platform heels ect and I slipped on a bottle cap. Went down to the floor in comical fashion. Penn station has never been that quite (for about 30 sec) and all eyes were on the tranny who fell.

I can't think of anything REALLY BAD that happened. None of this was a big deal. I mean, it is just normal stuff that happends, regardless. I take it in stride. Now had I been arrested, that would have been the worst. I'll continue to think. I guess I'm just a positive person.

Hugs - Genifer

About the only really bad experience I've had going out is one time forgetting to pay my bar tab at the pub one of my sisters groups used to meet up at. I felt really bad about that one, and, as soon as I got home, was sending out e-mails, to resolve the problem, which thankfully it was.

Other than that, I've had trolls harass me and my friends, and have been heckled by jerks in cars, but I've generally just ignored them. Such experiences have even made me feel prouder, since I knew I was with friends and that we we're having a good time, and no one could change that, no matter what they called me.

So no bad experiences here.

I've stood on top of the Empire State in a howling gale and realised that this was the only wig I had and it's a long way back down...

Womanhandling a very drunk 'someone' :whistling: in a wheelchair, up and down tall, steep flights of stairs..

Countless stockings and tights ruined, nails lost?

I've sat in a busy city A&E from midnight to 3am, wearing a fluorescent orange summer dress, while comforting another girl doubled up in pain.

I've been stopped by the police at least eight times, now (inc once in Las Vegas), but never had any tickets (yet)?

I've come back to the car park, 40 miles from home, at 1am, to find it chained and padlocked shut until 6.30am... I've been punched in the face in a gay club, leaving me with a broken nose and a black eye and my wig ruined.

Thankfully, unlike one poor girl I've met, I've not been raped.

But frankly, I identify most with Holly. The good times have hugely outweighed the bad, which really haven't been that bad and were very, VERY few and far between?

The worst experience……well….. Many years ago when I was 32, the Friday night I was just to start a two week vacation, I decided to go for a drive in dress; a skirt, top, wig, nylons, shoes, the whole works, except no makeup and I hadn’t shaved for a couple of days. If was about 2:00 AM, so I decided to head out of town to this country road that ran along the river, I loved that drive. But before leaving town, I needed to pee, so I parked in a hospital parking lot on the outskirts of town, walked to the woods next to a train trestle and did. On my way out of the woods, I heard two men talking; they were police from the hospital that must have seen me leave my car. They were shinning their flashlights inside, and then started walking toward the woods. I ran up to the top of the train trestle tracks and heard one say, “come out of there sister”. I went across the tracks to a park on the other side but unfortunately, I was on the wrong side of the river. A quarter of a mile well lit bridge was between me and the other side. So I walked through the park to the other exit, there’s a much darker and shorter bridge there. Unfortunately, not my night, there were two fishermen fishing off the bridge, settling in for the night, again, unfortunately. By that time a cop car arrived at the park, drove under the bridge and stop, he wasn’t going anywhere, again, unfortunately. So I though, maybe go back to the train tracks and walk across the trestle. But even if the cop car couldn’t see me, a train coming at me head on would be able to. So I consider swimming the river, one in which, due to the swift currents, many had drowned, which, at this point, seem almost desirable. Its getting late, the cop car’s not going anywhere, the fisherman aren’t going anywhere, it will be light in an hour and I’m 7 miles or so away from home, on the wrong side of a river, again unfortunately.

So, I hike up my knickers, and head for the steps leading onto the street, which goes across the bridge. As I get on the well-lit street (main street in town), I hear tires squeal (is the cop car), so I run. On the other side are some cars waiting for the traffic light to change, so I walk, fast. The cop car’s coming, I’m walking, the light changes and I run to the steps on the other side of the bridge. Once down the steps, into another park, the cop car pulls up, he gets out but doesn’t say anything, I continue to walk, he shines his spotlight on me, and I continue to walk. He gets back in his car and squeals out, so I begin to run. I go up the first alley I come to, where it’s dark, and hid. Not a great plan since it’s going to be light in 45 minutes. The cop car stops on the street, and sits, again not going anywhere. Fortunately (finally, that word) some crime happens and the cop is called away. I start walking and running home, through dark alleys, through another park, down a dirt road, across another set of train tracks, oh s**t, there’s a train stop on the tracks across the road and, unfortunately, two men with flashlights coming down the road; they go into the bushes, were I’m hiding several feet away. I guess they need to pee too. They leave, the train leaves, and I start running, through alleys, through another park, through a schoolyard, you get the picture. When I finally get to my block, it’s light but no one on the street. I made it home, but, again unfortunately, I have to change into drab and ride my bike 7 miles to pick up my car. The ride gave me plenty of time to think of a convincing story to tell police at the hospital. “Picked up a red head in a bar, took here home, fell asleep on her, she stole my keys and wallet, blah, blah, blah”. Of course they bought it, all I had to do was make my look stupid enough.

So, is that what had in mind Marci? :D

Both involved a good deal of stupidity on my part! lol

I was a teenager and wanted to go out and be seen. I decided to throw my clothes in a bookbag and to get dressed once I got to where I was going. I wound up changing clothes in a pizza parlor bathroom in Mt.
Vernon (glbt friendly neighborhood in Baltimore) and proceeded to the club. I left my bookbag with a homeless woman I had paid to watch it. Anyway, when I leave the club, the woman is gone, I later found out she had been chased away by some kids, and so is my bag. (I'm pretty sure she didn't take it as I'd left it with her several times before doing the same thing). So all my boy clothes are gone, as well as my wallet and keys, and I didn't realize that I had a money order in there for my college tuition. I'm pretty much stranded because I caught the bus down there and I didn't have my house keys, so I couldn't sneak back in the house unnoticed and change clothes. I had a few dollars on me and I made quick friends with a "working" t girl so I could have a place to stay for the night. Turns out, she is dying (AIDS) and has developed a crack problem and lives with two other crack addicts. I had already given her my last little bit of money for the room so I couldn't exactly leave. I had to stay there for two days until I could gather up enough money to get some clothes from goodwill and catch a ride home.

To make money, I had to be a lookout while some drug dealers came in and used the apartment for a few hours, then I had to play with myself while she gave some John oral because that turned him on. All the while, people are getting high and "dating". I finally earned enough money to get out and on my way. I had grown some stubble by this time, and didn't want to go out in femme, so I had someone go to the store for me to grab some clothes. I wore a 38 in pants and they came back with a 32 and fortunately the shirt I had on was somewhat gender neutral. So I finally had to go home and face my mother with my itty bitty pants and probably smelling like drugs, and make up some story. I can't even remember what I came up with, but that was by far the strangest experience I had while dressed. I won't say it was all bad though because I learned a lot of life lessons that weekend and made a friend that had a lasting impact on me.

I've had a few. Running from the Highway patrol so I could shed my clothes, didn't work. I did manage to get back into my jeans before being stopped tho. But they still knew.

Running from the cops in the big city on foot, spent 3 days in jail over that one, just because I didn't stop when they said halt. Cop busted my water balloon titties when he threw me against the car.

Being approached by a cop while sitting in a parking lot reading a gay mag. He called in at least 6 other male cops. No arrest just told not to drive like that. Talked a beautiful and very nice Vietnamese clerk to drive me home after her shift at the Amoco. She drove me and my truck home while her reluctant sister followed. I gave her 40 for her trouble and she couldn't believe it. I wish I'd gone back to her sooner and gotten to know her better. When I did, she was deported.

Got caught late at night at work one night. I hid under a desk and the fellow co-worker didn't know who I was and called the cops. Now that was embarrassing. He kept quiet about it so far as I ever knew.

Got caught by my college roommate.

Got caught by my high school buds.

Got caught by my mother.

There use to be a shoe store in the mall that carried a very good selection of wide width shoes near my house. I had purchased shoes there before in drab. Well, one day I decided to go dressed. Being read by teenagers in the mall had virtually ended my mall days while dressed. However, I needed a new pair of shoes so I went to the mall dressed. After purchasing, I decided to wear the shoes out of the store. The new shoes with the new and very slick soles along with the slick mall floor ended in me falling on my butt with my purse contents spilling everywere. On top of that, because of the slickness of the shoes and floor, I almost wasn't able to get back on my feet (slipped three more times trying to get up). Very horrible experience......but I laugh now.

My freakiest moment came in a resort village in the Carolinas a few years ago. I had a job that took me to the same tourist town regularly. The company put me up in the same boutique hotel each time, so I got to know the staff quite well. Most were really friendly, though there was one guy who just acted oddly.

Most nights after work I would be back in my small suite going as femme as possible. I would come in, unpack whatever dress or bra or pair of heels I had bought that evening, then eat a quick dinner and slave in front of the many mirrors, making Ann look as hot and sexy as possible. When she was as much the fab princess as possible, it would be time to just enjoy the feeling, drink a little wine and relax.

Except eventually the desire to walk around outside would be agonizingly powerful. In summer with tourists everywhere it was impossible, but any trip from November to March I knew I would have to fight that femme showoff feeling and not leave that room. One night at 11 my will power disappeared. Or else the feeling that I needed, wanted and was entitled to just a little stroll overcame me.

I snapped. With hair styled, face made up all vampy, nails long red and perfect, tight black dress and little black knit jacket, seamed black hose and 4-inch black patent leather pumps... out I swished. I actually left the room, floated down the hall, entered the stairwell, descended the one flight and pushed open the door into the small lobby. Three more steps and I would be out the door and at least have some options for to zig and zag. I pushed open the main door and came upon the odd guy... just having locked up. He looked at me. I looked at him.

"Can I help you miss," he asked, with an edge to his voice. "No thanks," I said and I was turning away even as I said it. "Miss can I help you" he repeats, adding something like "the hotel office is closed." Which made no sense, since I was coming from inside the hotel and headed away from the office toward the parking lot. "No thank you" I said more insistently, and I was past him, walking quickly.

If he had followed me I would have been screwed. It was a small town and the company did a lot of business at this inn, including holding meetings and events there. When you walk swiftly and confidently in 4-inch heels on tile, it echoes pretty good--perhaps it warned him off. He didn't follow me. I got around a corner, then another corner, unseen, and ended up deep in the shadows on bench behind some shrubs. Where I stayed until about 1 a.m., even thoug:o:oh the hotel was dead quiet and dark.

My worst experience. Was on Dec.7,1941 and I was almost killed. Before I would have known. What the strange feelings. I was having about myself. Was all about. At the age of Three and while I was living in a house. Over looking. The Pearl Harbor Bay.

In which I found out at the age of Six. That I wanted to dress and be a Girl.

Yep Marci!

Same sorta thing happened to me in New Orleans in 2000. Got pulled over for speeding. The offcier had no idea until I handed over my ID.

Long story short, he was really nice, gave me a break, and somewhere out there is Police Dash Cam footage (that I half expect to see aired on COPS one day lol) with me waving and saying "Hi mom" on it in all my gothic glory lol!

I left the theatre one evening and while negotating a couple turns through town I noticed red lights flashing ahead, thinking wreck, I continued on at a slower speed, the closser I got to the scene I realized it wasn't a wreck but a D.U.I. check point. Of all things a female officer walked up to my car shined her flashlight in my window, I was instantly read, she asked if I had anything to drink, I told her that I had not, she smiled and asked if could I walk the painted line in the road with those heels on, I told her I could. She smiled and said have a good evening.

I had an expieriance 4 years ago. I was going to a meeting in St. Louis of a group I belonged to at the time. It was a two and a half hour drive. Well, I was dressed al pretty, althought I don't pass real well. I was late and was stopped by an Illinois State police officer. My heart sank all the way down to you know where, when the lights came on. He walked up to the car and ask me for all the paperwork and just sorta looked me over. I told him I was driving a little fast because I was late for a meeting. Well if the my looks didn't give it away the voice did. I thought this is going to be fun. He said just a minute and walked back to his car. He came back and said everything was in order and that he was going to just warn me. Then he started asking about how to get in touch with this group about joining, boy was I blown away. So I gave him the web site, He said thanks for the info and said drive safe and enjoy your evening. You talk about a surprise. Reba Kay

Some amazing stories you hve there. I've only been out 25-30 times all in the last year. The worst (which is nothing) was at a CD Mardi Gras in March. We had a part of a banquet hall with a High Schl Reunion next door. When we were leaving one of the guys from the reunion said to me and the ladies I was with "Have a Nice evening, Ladies" in a voice full of disgust. I don't know if I've just been lucky, but for those who haven't been out, trouble is unlikely.

My worst experience was having the magnetic key for my hotel room not open the door as i was returning to my room and I had to go the the lobby and show my id to get a new key. The desk person didn't laugh just went about his business. This was the first time I was 'identified' as a crossdresser. The world didn't stop turning and now I laugh about it. However, at the time it almost seemed as if I had been arrested and needed to call my wife to bail me out! Now I don't really give it much thought whether or not I'm read.

When Aerosmith's "Dude looks like a lady" came out, a local bar had a contest in honor of the tune. I went to a Merle Norman for help with my makeup on my way to the club. Well we leave the store and she locks up, and we start on our separate ways. I discover I had left my keys in the store. Doh!!

I had to run across through the mall to try to catch her, fortunately I did. Well, she didn't have a key to the store and had to call her manager to come out and open the store for me. That was a close call.

The first time I went to the mall dressed, I had just walked in
an entrance, as soon as I'm in the middle of the mall I hear a teen-aged male exclaim "It's a Dude!" One of the last times I was out, I heard a teen-aged male ask "was that a man or a woman?" Both times I walked away without looking or responding to them.

Really though, almost all of my experience's were positive. I was always read, but it seemed everyone was willing to play
along. Austin TX can be a kind of an oasis at times. Twice,
guys have laughed near me but no comments.

Some years ago I got stopped for speeding by the police - but the guy was really nice, no comments or anything - just a ticket.

A few months ago I couldn't get back into my room at a hotel because of a problem with the magnetic card - so I had to go to the reception (2 in the afternoon), explain the situation and get the card revalidated.

In both cases I was pooing myself at the time...... but afterwards I thought 'that wasn't so bad... in fact it was quite exciting'

Last spring I was out during the day 100% enfemme. It was raining and kind of slick on the roads. I ended up rear ending someone. The police officer was cool. Looked at my license, looked at me and referred to me a ma'am. Unfortunatley I did get a ticket:sad:

Maybe not the worst, but one of the earliest that shook my confidence for a while...

Walking through a local mall dressed rather inappropriately in a tight leather skirt and heels, with amateurish makeup. Spotted by a gang of teenage girls who started screaming "It's a guy".

The walk back to my car followed by this chanting mob was the longest in my life...and the most difficult due to the tight skirt and heels. "Never again...that's it" I swore to myself.

Of course, my abstinence was temporary and I've been read several times since...but that was one I will never forget.

Fortunatly i've never been caught out publicly, but the most scariest time was being caught by my landlord and his sister.

For some reason i calculated that he'd be out of the flat all day, so i took the oppotunity to dress and take some pictures in the kitchen..

I had a camcorder hooked up to a microphone stand that i was using as a tripod. I'd just set eveything up got dressed, and was ready to do some posing when it happend..part of me denied i heard anything at all but it was a key being turned in the street door, just a couple of meters from the flat door, never in my life have i ever moved so fast, i grabbed the tripod my clothes, hand bag, damn my heels they're tie ups,no time to worry, and i ran for my life to get to my room, but, it was too late ,the game was up...shocked looks on both sides.

I carried on running to my room denying to myself that they ever saw me.Immediatly plotting a cover story (was gonna blatently deny it and say they must of had seen an illusion, trick of the light or something.I shut my door, quickly changed to drab, and awaited the fall out..

The funny thing about it was i had the camcorder running the whole time..wished i kept the video now, the look on my face was pure fear when i realised someone was coming, and i could hear my self cursing the whole time. Anyway the fall out was that i had to get rid of the clothes or i was on the street. A lot of nice clothes were lost that day not to mention my dignity.

Most police just don't care much, they've seen it before, in most cases. But I didnt really know, or didn't want to test it the day I took a turn a bit too fast and hit the side of someone's car.(this was a few years ago) The woman was really angry at first, and didn't notice that I wasn't what I appeared to be. I was flipping out. today I wouldn't be, but I was then! I told the woman that my insurance was all in order and that I live about 1 minute away, and begged her to let me run home and come back before she called the police. Thank goodness she said yes. So I drive home like a maniac, into the house, ripping clothes off, shove my face under the shower head, rubbing frantically. I don't even remember getting dressed. The sherrif showed up about 1 minute after I got back, so she didn't exactly keep her word. Or maybe she thought I wasn't coming back. I was pretty obviously dishevelled, hair a mess, eyes a bit red, still out of breath. The cop asked me if I had been drinking. I said no, just a bit nervous.(True!) He was a bit skeptical, but ultimately believed me, and gave me a ticket. If it happens again, I will be much calmer. Also, I was still with the ex then. Thank goodness she wasn't home!

This happened many years ago when I stayed on my own in a flat in town. I had gone out dressed for a late evening stroll when I arrived back at the flat door to find I had locked myself out. Real panic set in! The flat door was solid - there was no way I could force my way in. I went back outside in case any neighbours came up the stairs and found me. I walked around for ages trying to come up with a plan when I suddenly remembered I had a spare key in my car! Unfortunately I didn't have my car keys either so I had to wait until things were quiet then break into my own car (no alarm thankfully!). The relief I felt when I fell back into my flat was incredible! I had to pay for a new side window for my car but I think I got off lightly!!

This one is very funny indeed!

Me, our neighbor across the street spotted me during one of the few times I've been out in public dressed. I am pretty sure he made me, but not 100 percent sure. He never said anything to me. Still, I live not quite sure that he knew or not.

However, since I go around shaved smooth and wearing female tops and bottoms even without a wig, I know for sure he knows something is up with me.

I have never been out fully dressed. However, I have forgotten about lipstick on occasion and know that I was read.

I also was in the office on a weekend about a week ago and was wearing mostly female attire, but really not that noticable except for my padded bra, nylons, and pumps.

A fellow came into my office from the office across the hall. Evidently he just came in to get something. So there I was doing stuff at the filing cabinet when he came in.

That just never happens on the weekend as usually no one is there is the first place.

I was able to hide my bra, but I couldn't hide the pumps or nylons showing below my slacks.

He looked down a couple of times and had to have seen what I was wearing. He didn't say anything but his face looked a little troubled. Nothing has been said since and we still exchange pleasantries in the hallways.

Maybe I wasn't read, but it sure seemed like it.

I never had bad experiences while going out "en femme".

Sometimes I had a bad feeling of being observed, but I think that it was more in my head than a true situation.

In one case a young woman could hardly contain bursting in a loud laughter... I felt a bit bad but I had probably earned that laughter with the poor work I had done at dressing and doing my makeup...

I know though that some sisters have had pretty bad experiences whil "en femme". I hope it won't happen to me... That's one of the reasons I never go out alone and prefer to stay in crowded places...

I can say that I have never had a bad experiance while crossdressed. I have always had good times. I guess that is why I do think it would be great to go out again someday when I get the chance. It's been years since I was able to, but had a great time when I did.

I'm glad you didn't go to the slammer, Gen!

Walking through crowded (very) penn station in platform heels ect and I slipped on a bottle cap. Went down to the floor in comical fashion. Penn station has never been that quite (for about 30 sec) and all eyes were on the tranny who fell.

Oh, my! But you're still here, so it's all good!

I guess I'm just a positive person.

Yes, you definitely are, Genifer! Able to take all that in stride! You are beautiful!

Hey I did some thing like that. Long story. First NYE,(iv;e only been out for six weeks) and some lady ran the light. The first words out of her mouth please dont call the cops I just got a DUI. She wanted me to follow her to her cousins house. SHe walked away and sent her cousin to deal with me. By then the police came. Oh the lady was so kind enough to leave her drivers linces and wallet for the cops to ID her. The cars is not hers but her mom's. To top it all off I made the mistake of calling my dad and telling him I Was in an accident. He wanted to come out . I had to tell him about niya.

THe funny thing is when she gave her statement to the cops she said she freaked out cause I was a guy in a dress .

Well, all of these "worst experiences" happen to involve someone getting "caught" or almost caught. I have something different to relate. It was definately MY worst experience, however.

My wife and I had gone to NYC to babysit our latest grandchild while the parents took their first vacation since the birth. I took NO male clothes. I flew down as Stephenie and spent the week as Stephenie. Some of you may remember my story about flying down. My wife was not really used to going out with Stephenie at all. We decided to go to a Broadway Show. So we both got dressed up and left the apartment. Let me tell you, the further into the evening we got (and it started right away), the more upset she became. I could do nothing right, she took offence at everything I said or did, she refused to walk beside me on the street. Oh God, it was awful! She just kept getting angrier and angrier. We ended up not seeing a show, not eating dinner, and not doing anything even remotely enjoyable.

That was by far the worst experience I have ever had when out. Has it gotten any better? I thought it might, but sadly, no. We are able to go out together now without all that drama, but I do not think our relationship will survive my transition. Many of you DON'T transition because of the tremendous potential loss. I can tell you it's real. I have been the eternal opimist here, hoping that we will be able to stay together. But our marriage is falling apart ever more quickly. The loss, emotionally and financially, will be devastating. For some (myself included I hope, as I seem to have no real choice), it will be worth it. For some, it's not.

Lovies,
Stephenie

I got arrested for being in the women's restroom at a mall. They let me tske of my heels, make-up, bra, and wig before they put me in a cell though. I was charged with "disturbing the peace".

Hmmm....how does that constitute disturbing the peace? Were your bodily functions especially loud? :D

My first time out!

I let my best gg friend Jenifer talk me into going to her party in full dress. I knew many of the people there on a casual level. About thirty people were there. It was a costume party and many were asking why I was not in costume. Jenifer, "the evil clown", told them I was in from out of town. It was very uncomfortable when some of the men were hitting on me! When the karioke started my cover was blown. Several of the women commented on how comfortable I looked. They all knew.
Word of note, make sure your heels are broke in before you spend six hours dancing and going up and down stairs. The trip to K-mart to pick up supplies before the party was worth it all.
Luv y'all

Years ago I was dating this woman that was very accepting of who I was. We went out to our Local Support groups Christmas party. Afterward a number of us decided to go to a local lesbian bar that many of us frequented.

My date, Mary, and I sat with the other girls and we had a good time. Most of the girls had left around 11, and Mary and I were playing pool when a Lesbian walked up to me and said "Why would you want to be with a Crossdresser when you can have a real girl like me?"

At which point Mary starts to laugh and says "No, I'm the girl; he's the guy". The Lesbian ( who was a little drunk) replies "Shut the f up, I'm not talking to you" The two of them get in a shoving match, which was broken up by the owner ( a real nice lady). The owner tells us to leave, but that we are not banned, she just didnt' want any more trouble that night. Then looks at Mary, and said "Sweety, if you really want to look like a woman, try wearing some make-up next time".

Well, at that point Mary starts to cry, the Owner feels bad; because she is really sympathetic towards CDs and thinks she has gravely offended one. She tries to ralley by telling Mary that "...really you did a great job of presenting yourself as a woman....you just need a little more practice with the walk and mannerisms. Wait just a minute" She goes in back and comes out with a card from a local "feminising coach" and gives it to Mary and tells her that the woman who runs the "school" is a friend of hers and will give her a 25% discount.

Mary cried all the way to the car; all the way Home; and locked me out of our room. Would not talk to me for three days.

Well what fantastic stories! Great reading! I love the truck! ... and the Suburban Escape ! wow .. You guys really have a great time with this.
My story is a bit more benign :-
In 2006 I decided to go to the Sydney Mardi Gras. I rolled down to Sydney from Canberra, in my campervan, stopping every now and then, for a break where I proceeded to fix my nails. (It is a fairly long trip of about 200 ks. ) I have seriously big hands and when I put on the huge acrylic nails and painted them with " Pearly Grape" ( lovely deep purple ) I have serious things. I arrived in Sydney and went to Oxford St to check out the venue on the friday before the parade. I was in drab, wearing a pair of shorts and a T shirt ( and my excessive nails ) ... I wondered into a few of the specialty shop ... sex toys , clothes , bondage gear etc. I made friends with the people running the shops, and got the message that I would be OK if I dressed up tomorrow, and that I wouldn't get mugged. The nails served well as an ice breaker and I was never at a dead end! I checked out the local golf course a few Ks away where I intended to park under a tree and get changed, and then I went to a mates place for the nite.

I arrived the next morning and got a car park under a tree in the golf course car park, and proceeded to get into all my gear. Passer by's with golf clubs checked me out, but basically left me alone. I got all done up with my 5" red heels and my super short black leather mini skirt, with a nice fluffy blouse, hand bag, and small pack with my joggers and a bottle of red wine. It started to get hot where I was, and the shade was leaving my spot. There were no other shaded spots available, and I was melting fast, so I called a taxi and flaunced out into the middle of the car park, heart in mouth, and waited.
The staid golfers passed me with some slowness, and looked me up and down and up again. I was starting to shake a bit when the taxi rolled up and I got in .... the driver gave me the eye, and I quickly explained that I was a heterosexual doing a dress up for the Mardi Gras, and he relaxed a bit! We rolled into Taylor Square at about 2 pm ..... I paid and peeled out of the taxi .... onto a street corner where there was not a single dressed person within Cooee. !!

Not much I could do except brazen it out. I proceeded to waltz across the intersection (with an exagerated model walk, as I was intentionaly over the top,) to the gay pub on the other side where I got a rousing cheer from about 50 guys who were holding hands! It is 6 lanes of traffic there, and the cars all stopped! I can't remember if the lights were red or green!! My heart was doing summersaults and I was ready to pass out ... so I went in the pub and the bar tender gave me a good quality double vodka ... I had a couple of those and they tasted like water! After I calmed down a bit I proceded to waltz down the street and dropped in to a few of the stores I had visited the day before ... The people there recognised me ( by the nails if nothing else) and I got heaps of encouragement. I continued down the street with more confidence, and I had straight couples wanting to be photographed with me all the time. It got better and better, and I got more comfortable. People bought me a glass of wine here and a coffee there. I ended up in a different pub with a mob of people who welcomed me.

By the time the parade started I was a very happy camper ! I had dinner by myself in a restaurant at about 1 am ... used the ladies loo, and then got a taxi back to my car.

I changed my blouse for a clean one and headed across the oval to the Fox Studios where I had a ticket to the after party. Cameras were forbidden, and I soon found out why .... This was a very different setting ... lots of male couples with no bottoms to their leather pants, lots of people in rubber and other amazing things! I paled into total insignficance and dind't realy gell with what was happening. I left after doing a tour which took about 2 hours, and as I left the gates I had a chat with one of the cops there, who told me that there were some reports of hoodlums rifling cars around the place , and that I should be on my guard, near the golf course. I changed my shoes and picked up a nice waddy on the oval under a tree, and walked to the car park. There was no sign of anyone there, but I was not going to sleep the nite as I had intended, so I got on the freeway and left the city. I had another adventure later the next day, but I'll recount that later.

I have never been out fully dressed. However, I have forgotten about lipstick on occasion and know that I was read.

That's funny, something similar happened to me. I was enjoying a beautiful summer evening in my Buenos Aires home, my mom and sis were out so I was all by myself. I was totally dolled up and I felt compelled to drink a couple beers ( I Know! I Know! I didn't have any red wine!) and eventually went to sleep. The next day I was running late for highschool, so I removed my sparkly feminine stuff and put on a boring pair jeans and a colorless tee. My hair was long and all over my face so no one really saw anything on my way there.
I swiftly entered the classroom half-asleep, only to be brought back to reality by the countless laughs, all of them started by a girl saying "Look! *my name* is using eyeliner!"... It's a good thing to wipe off your makeup while in drab mode... I told them I did it to see the expression on their faces, but I know they didn't buy it :poppy01:
