Hi folks. This is something I had hoped would be ready for Halloween and it was supposed to be sort of a limerick. You know three or four stanzas but it kept getting bigger. It still could use some work but here it is and I hope you get some chuckles out of it. It was fun to do.

Twas in the park just after dark
on an wintry Halloween
The moon rode high in a starlit sky
no one else in the park could be seen

Ghosts and goblins were abroad in the night
In the streets I heard them cry out
but here in the park all was serene
Not another soul was about

I prowled the dark pathways
And smelled the damp earth
Then I chuckled a bit somewhat sadly
I really was feeling no mirth

For I lived in that half world
Quite hidden away
Though I worked as a man
Twas en-femme I would play

But my play was in secret
For no one may know
Of my covert longing
My desire to show

Then I spied all alone on a bench made of stone
A very muscular CD man
I paused surprised that I was not alone
Late night meetings were not in my plan

His dress was gorgeous, his shoes divine
Though his wig was a bloody mess
And tears ran down his pallid cheeks
He was clearly in great distress

I turned to leave, I felt that I should
But he turned to face me then gazed where I stood
He raised his arms wide in a sign of despair
Then spoke in a tone full of sorrow and care

"Oh I am a lumberjack husky and strong
With a face that would stop a clock
But I love the feel of satin and lace
And the cling of a nylon frock"

Then he raised his eyes to the moon up above
And spoke this terrible prayer
"I would trade my soul if for just one night
I could pass as a lady most fair

Then a hush fell over the park where we stood
and an evil hiss filled the air
Two bright red eyes glowed from out of the brush
A demon looked out from his lair

Then a soft lambent glow encircled us both
The demon's eyes disappeared
And the air around us was sweet and clean
The sulfurous smell disappeared

Before us a vision of loveliness stood
Her manner calm and serene
Her voice like an angel's chorus
I knew not what this could mean

"Good sir" she said, and smiled all the while
"I know you have labored to live your dream
But now I think that you must understand
That your pathway was too extreme"

"For I am the CD fairy
I wander the earth to find
Souls like you who are weary and sad
But who's dream is fully defined"

"Go forth in your little black dress tonight
And claim the prize that you've won
And every year on this hallowed eve
The deed once again may be done"

Then I watched as his body came slim and lithe
All the muscles and lumps were gone
The little black dress fit just like his skin
And his joy he expressed with a moan

He ran from the park and never looked back
As I watched from behind a tree
The fairy was gone I was all alone
And I cried aloud WHY NOT ME
