<a true account>
Trying on false eyelashes for the first time tonight...
1. Squeeze a thin line of adhesive along lash....
2. Hold for 30 seconds till tacky.
3. Apply to eyelid as close to lash roots as possible.
"easy enough...hmm...comes out of the tube rather quick...that’s
probably a little to thick....quit squeezing so hard...that’s
better...oops now a little to thin... there...oh I missed a
spot...oh well, lemme just set the lash in place....<blink, blink>..
..oh great, now I've got goop on the top of my eyelid....boy this stuff kinda
stinks...ok just lay it there and...no, maybe a little to the left..
ok there...wait, why isn't this end sticking...alright, just a little
pressure here and ... THERE!....WOW!....That looks like crap."
hmmm.... 1. Squeeze a thin line of adhesive along the lash BAND.
Oh, I get it! the glue goes on the false lash, not mine!
< gawd, I can be so dense sometimes >

Sigrid,
I had to laugh after reading your post, because as I read I thought...AH!!..that's what I was doing wrong last time...I put the glue on the false lash
.....alas, I got to the end of you post and realized that I was not going nuts, and that I did use the correct approach (even though it did not work so well for me....dam lashes :(
Love Kylee xx

OMG <:D> lol Too much! http://www.geocities.com/tristencx/icons/lol06.gif Here I was thinking this would be a real tutorial but that sounds more like the time I tried false nails(yeah I'm an idiot).
http://www.geocities.com/tristencx/icons/offtopic.gif Well no one told me not to use crazy glue! What was worse they didn't tell me to read where it says "dries in three seconds"

Actually, this is not as crazy as it sounds :) I posted this on this thread here a while back:

Here is a trick I learned from one of my makeover girls - take a toothpick, and put a few dots of glue on your eyelid (almost like applying eyeliner), then put the eyelash to your eyelid. The reason this works better than the other way is because the eyelash will only stick where the glue is. The other way, the eyelash with the glue already on it has a tendency to stick everywhere you don't want it to, especially when first starting out.

How do you take them off???? :D I wanna try them...but scared to death I'll not get them back off again. I experimented with false nails. Took a hour of filing my nails to get the glue off so people would not notice at work. Being a bit more careful now about some of this stuff.

Just this morning my lovely wife put mine on for me..I will try to keep them on for the weekend along with my nails. We just get them at the local drug store cosmetics area and they seem to work just fine....

You are lucky Sara. You and your lashes look great. I've never tried the fake ones before. I will admit to checking them out at the store though. But usually mascara does the trick for me.
