A few years back, as an aid to getting a better understanding of my CD tendancy for BOTH of us, and its effect on my wife, I bought "My Husband Betty", and read it myself before giving it to her to read. We didn't make a lot of progress then, but just lately, she seems a little (but not much) more open to the idea of finding out more about the subject. Ultimately, she'd not do much better than joining here, but I don't think she's ready for that just yet. As a follow up to MHB, what would you recommend for another book? I'd be particularly interested in one that approached the subject from the SO's point of view, and for that I'd particularly (but not exclusively) value the GG's input, especially those whose understanding was enhanced by reading it themselves.
Thanks in advance for your input,
Tony

I recently finished My Husband Betty and it answered a lot of questions for me. I haven't read her latest yet, but am looking forward to it. I'm going to check out the other's listed here too. Thanks for the advice and the thread.

I posted this blog site in an earlier post. It has a lot of insight that I'm still reading different pages from it. Check it out. http://ybatv.blogspot.com/search/label/cross-dressing

He really gets into the, "Why's, where fores", of CDing. I read a lot about myself there! It helps me understand. Good stuff!

I found a wonderful book in a college library called "Boys Will Be Girls" which treats the specific topic of heterosexual MtF crossdressers. I found the book's assessment to be very accurate and I actually photocopied some key excerpts from it so I could hold onto it after I had to return the book. I could send this to you if you'd like. Just PM me.

Alice in Genderland will scare the bejeezes out of your wife.
I tried reading it, got disgusted, and tossed it.

Thanks ladies for your replies, but there's not a shred of concensus here is there? I'm left as confused as I was when I started this thread!
Thanks for the blogspot Brenda and Docrobbysherry, there's a lot of useful material there.
Thanks for your offer Lisa, I'll follow up on that.
Since I'm aiming to educate my wife (I've found more than enough material on this site for ME to come to terms with CDing), I think I'll be following Lynne's advice and getting Peggy Rudd's "My husband wears my clothes", and save Peggy Rudd's new book for later. I'll let you know how I get on, but if the last one is anything to go by, don't hold your breath; it could be 2009!
Thanks again to you all,
Tony

I have read most of the books listed above.
I think reading on the internet is the best.
And, I love this website!!!!!!!

How useful is "My Husband Betty" and "My Husband Wears My Clothes"?
I am considering buying them off Amazon, but wanted to know whether they are useful or not first?

Now I'm even more confused! Two more titles to add to the list; thank you Zara and MaidInCan. I was originally hoping to find one that several of you had read with your wives, and that had answered a lot of the negative feelings your SO originally had. Maybe it was pie in the sky after all.
To answer your question Emma, I bought My Husband Betty not long after I joined here. It answered a lot of my questions then, but my primary purpose in buying it was to educate my wife. Although she says she read it all, I doubt she more than skimmed it, and she had no questions to ask me afterwards! I think she's still at the denial stage, thinking that if she doesn't talk about it, it might just go away! Well, we know it won't, don't we! I still think it's a great book for someone new to the subject, who genuinely wants to find out what crossdressing is all about.
Good luck,
Tony

I read a book called "The Emancipated Crossdresser" by Lacy Leigh and thought it was great.
I would recommend it.

I cast my vote for Peggy Rudd's books: "MY HUSBAND WEARS MY CLOTHES: Crossdressing From The Perspective Of A Wife"
And for CD's: "CROSSDRESSING WITH DIGNITY: The Case For Transcending Gender Lines"
She's written other books for CD's too, all that I've seen are good.

More replies! Thanks ladies.
Another vote for "My Husband Wears my Clothes" from Carol just about clinches it for me. That's the one.
I'd never heard of "The Emancipated Crossdresser" Joann. Might try that one for my own education, although coming on this site just about completed my knowledge on the subject!
Thanks again,
Tony
