A funny thing happened to me today ....

I had to visit London today for a meeting (in my male identity). To get to the company I was visiting I had to report to reception to get a visitors pass (which I guess is pretty normal these days) the security guard asked for my name I replied "Rob ........" he went through the his visitors passes pulled one out and said "Jane ......." - there were two with the same surname scheduled to attend the same meeting and he thought I was Jane - OK I've let my hair grow long and I was clean shaven but I rarely pass as a "Jane" even with make-up! Guess I should have said - no Deborah, actually, but I just said OK so I've got long hair but ...

And my boss was with me!

That is not a high paid job, Probably just a stupid mistake not based on any subliminal perceptions. I bet it was fun though. If my boss was not with me I would have played dumb and gone with it until the other person showed up.
