Hello,all ,,,I`m a newer member here and this is really my first post,,,so be kind,,,lol,,,anyways,I`m a lifelong cd here and have loved every moment,,,but as all of you know at times have had many questions concerning my /our sanity,wellbeing,manhood,livelihood,place in society etc and onwards,,,anyways to cut to the quick,,,as persons,,,do you feel we are above average in IQ than most of the population and more in touch with our being and inner selves???? thank you,,,,,I do!!!

We are more or less a random sampling of the rest of the poulation.We are no different from the rest of society other than our choice in how we wish to live.We should not have any elitest thoughts about ourselves if we wish for acceptance by the rest of society.

I really don't know. I consider myself fairly intelligent(who doesn't?) but I don't know if it's because I'm a cd. It might, however, take some intelligence to accept yourself, and reject what the world has been telling you for years- that you are doing something wrong.

On the other hand, there are some very intelligent people out there with bigoted, small minded views. There are different kinds of intelligence. A well coordinated athlete may be said to have one type, a very creative person another. I know it's a cliche, but it's what you do with what you have that's important.

And I agree with you Priscilla. I do feel lucky to be able to experience being masculine and feminine, but I don't know if that's because I'm smarter than others. Putting ourselves on a pedestal isn't going to help.

I have taking an IQ test many times in the past few years. I score 126 almost evertime, go figure. I am probly an average gal, I guess. I am just one of thousands that come to these forums. I think we're all average in our one way, it's hard to answer your statement because we're all diferent, with many common things in our lives. I probly got lost in translation sorry.

We are as a group as much a cross section of society as any other. I was last tested at 137, which I think is slightly above average. But what does it matter? The propensity to CD has nothing at all to do with IQ levels.

I supposedly have a very high IQ - I don't much care for the term these days as my brain got me into a lot of trouble in life... I'm a foolish genius, you might say. I've thought before that maybe I'm smart because I'm a crossdresser or maybe my intelligence opens doors that the closed minded can't even see... I've also thought that maybe we're also more prone to be creative - started a thread or two about it - and perhaps that would explain my creativity. I've looked for meaning behind a lot of curtains but I always find some stupid man blowing smoke up my ass (me).

I might say CD's are, on the whole, more intelligent than the rest of society - but I also once thought they were all like me. Since I've joined here I've met all manner of people - only a few I'd consider to be "like me" in the "real world"...

Notice how I tried to sound intelligent in this post? Now, excuse me while I go sit on my broken futon in my apartment with one chair and rest because my car broke down today because the super genius didn't take it to the mechanic when the check engine light came on a month ago. ;) I believe there are 13 or more classified types of intelligence these days... I only have 2 (and a smart fashion sense ;) )

I tested quite high on several IQ tests when I was a kid, and just I just barely managed to squeak through high school, then in college I dropped out and became a rather notorious left wing radical in the late 60's and early 70's.

The FBI has a somewhat idiotic dossier on me due to my "subversive" activitites, added to several drug arrests. Yes I am and was anti war, and stood my ground. I did several months in a Navy brig to prove my point.

I did finally do college as an art major and went on and got a degree in visual communication. I guess that means I am creative? Commercial art sux, so now I am into production, I make money producing other people's ideas. Woo hoo! I guess maybe I am smart after all! :p

Ok, I am getting ready to get into my broken futon and watch television now... :)

I have to agree about the different kinds of intelligence. I've tried a few of them, some with better results than others. ;)

Started out book smart, sold my soul for street smarts, recovered, sold my soul for business smarts, managed to learn computers and team-building, recovered, and now I'm just trying to figure out how to have a successful marriage, be happy, and be feminine.

by the way if any of you are curious as to how the population stacks up in terms of iq...its based on a standard bell cuve with 100 being the mean and has a standard deviation of 15. in other words about 67 percent of the pop is between 85 and 115. above 130 is in the top 2 or 3 percent. sorry i am kind of a dork and know too many useless things. lol
