I haven't been professional fitted, but a 36A seems to fit very well with no padding. Considering the width of my shoulders, I'd look more balanced with C cups, but since I don't dress to go out (and pretty much only underdress under my drab clothing), I'll stick with the A cups for now. :)

I posted a thread a while back about bra stuffing and got quite a bit of feedback on it. the first bra I ever wore was that of a girlfriend, it was a 32a which fit me very tight and uncomfortable. As I grew in size and experience, I graduated to 34b, 36c, until I reached my permanent size which is 40d. My first bra stuffing, (the 34b) was balloons filled with cooking oil. Now I have two pairs of silicone forms that I am thoroughly pleased with. Luv and :hugs: Jill

There was a time when a 44" band size would work for me, however, finding a proper fitting cup was next to impossible. Had to wear a 42 with extenders. A whole bunch of weight loss later, I've gone through 40 to 38 and now am quite comfortable with 36. Depending on the maker I usually wear a B or A cup, without any "help".
Now, if I'm "dressing up" I have a nice D size for a set of mastectomy inserts I own. Gives me that "senior citizen, top heavy look" One of the ladies at a local dress shop calls them "Grandma Boobs" Considering my frame size they really aren't out of place.

I have quite a collection of about 25 bras mostly in 36D or 36DD. I do not really like breast forms and love the feeling of filling the cups all by myself. I can fill either size but most 36DDs are minimizers, making filling the cups easier. Some of the DDs are hand me downs from my lovely wife. Tip for others: as long as the band is tight, you can squeeze your chest tissue in and fill the cups. I find the DD cups cover all the chest tissue and are filled completely.

When is a B cup not a B cup? Since i'm still a little on the overweight side i can fill my 38B longline bra perfectly. But according to the measurements, i'm somewhere between an A and a B cup which the rest of my bras seem to indicate also. I also noticed this years ago when i had over a dozen bras before the mother of all purges. Must be manufacturer variances or something.

While we're on the subject, funny thing, while i've lost 6" around my waist during the last month or so, i surely expected the man boobs to go down also. For some reason they aren't, they seem to be holding their own and in fact they seem to be growing and are becoming sensitive as i'm aware i got em now!
Only thing i can figure is its the Soy Milk i switched to a while back when i stopped using dairy products and that Aveeno hair minimizer i've been using daily which is also rich in Soy.
Can't say whether to brag, complain, continue or stop the Soy!

I use two different bra sizes

One size for comfort, when I know I will be dressed all day long. In that case I use a 38 D and no external filling, just my own breasts, or should I sayn a combination of my breasts and accumulated fat tissues which I kept around my chest after loosing lots of weight...

One size for the look when I want to improve on my leavage appearance... I then use a 36 D rather than a 38 D. The push up effect is more pronounced...

But the price to pay is that after a few hours it feels rather uncomfortable and I am quite happy to take the bra off...

For that flat chested cute punk/goth or sporty girl look I use 34A. That fits my natural chest however the band is snug. I have a 36A yet the cup seems bigger. (Trial and error there.) When I wear dresses or want to look more grown up femme I use 36b (an outgrown bra donated to my cause by my beautiful SO) with A-B water push up inserts. I don't really like the look of a huge chest on myself. Just my preferences.

Though I have not been professionally fitted (something I hope to do this year, by the way), I usually wear a 42 or 44, C or D. I find that bras vary a lot and that trying them on is about the only way I can get the right fit. I do this mostly at Lane Bryant where they are friendly and very helpful.
It's all me filling the cups with my breasts and some fat tissue. The latter seems to remain this days despite fluctuations in my weight. I'm trying to lose weight right now, and if the result is a loss of breast size, I will go to silicone forms, aiming to get a C/D size that's comfortable. I used to think that cup size was the most important thing--no more. I'm convinced that the band and shoulder strap have much more to do with the comfort, fit, and flattering look.
Good luck finding your bras that fit.

I have over 100 bras ...42-C, mostly underwire.
It was trail and error,
I must have another 50-100 bras from 34A to 44DD
that I'd get rid of, or trade for other articles of clothing.
I have three sets of PALS BreastForms, "B" "C" and "D"
My C cups are my favorite.

44A if I go without any forms

Anything I use forms in, I prefer underwire. With the A cup, I don't have an underwire, but like the cups to be padded.

I'm a natural 34A, but I will ocassionally wear some enhancers to get that "fuller" look. I do have some 34B bras, and a couple 36C's. For these, I use the good ol' rice-form trick. Some day I shall take part in the wonderful world of forms. :D

Most of my bras are 38C underwire, but over the last few years I've gone to a 40C which seems to be more comfortable. Actually would love to have a bra fitting to see what works best with just me filling the cups. Also, I have been toying with the idea of taking hormones. Probably just a fantasy!

Most of my bras are 42C and 44B and most fit quite well. Though the 42 band size is really a bit tight. I don't wear breast forms most of the time and these fit well. I do wear the breast forms when I want to be more "balanced".

sandra-leigh

38D with my more "every day" forms.
40G with my bigger forms.

With no forms, regular bras do not fit me correctly. 38AA fits the left side fine but the right side (no larger) is then too far to the right to fit in the cup -- my intra-cup width is just more than manufacturers allow for. I'll try 38A next: that has a chance of fitting both sides in, but the cups will probably end up half empty.

I just don't have much in the way of "man boobs" -- the fat distributes itself to other places instead. :(

I have to agree with Annacathleen. I have been through 5 pairs of forms and 42C works for me. I shot the moon and bought the adhesive pair from the breasdtform store. very exspensive. not 100 but pretty much 98%. My advice is to buy size that you feel comforatable with and you can be OK leaving the house. the next big step! Marny

I wear a 38C, but I've never been fitted, and I'm a bit confused about bra sizing. I've looked at a lot of sizing primers, and they all say to take a measurement around your chest area just under the breasts, then to add four to five inches to it to get your band size. That puts me at 40". They say then to get a measurement around the fullness of your breasts, and that comes out to 40" as well. Now, I feel like I've got ample breasts, but by that measurement, I'm a 40A. I don't feel or look at all like an A cup, so I'm confused.

Anyway, I use the old "fill a stocking up with birdseed or rice" trick for my boobs. One day I'll break down and get some forms. I hear they're nice!

I'm a bit confused about bra sizing. I've looked at a lot of sizing primers, and they all say to take a measurement around your chest area just under the breasts, then to add four to five inches to it to get your band size.

That doesn't seem to work for me. My chest measurement is 37" and I wear a 38 band. I have been professionally fitted and they say that a 40 band is a little too big for me; I have tried a 42 on occasion and it was much too loose for me and would move too much and would not provide much support.

You should be able to get your finger under your band when wearing it, but it should not be loose.

Another tip I was given was that when you buy the bra, you should be buying a size at which you are hooking it on the outermost hook, i.e, pretty much the smallest band that fits properly. The bra will stretch with use, and that's when you start using the inner hooks, to get it back to the original tautness.

For years I was of the opinion that 42C was my perfect size. Then I went to a LB and got a professional fitting. The SA measure me and recommended that I would be more comfortable if I wore a band size of 46. She sure was right. I can hardly feel that the bra is there, it is so comfortable. As far as cup size. 'B' if not using forms. 'C' if using a small form and 'D' or 'DD' if using a large form.

I have probably 30+ bras ranging from 36b to 40d. It really depends on the brand. 36d, 38c, and 40b seem to fit my forms pretty much the same. And I have at least one 36 that is too loose and a 40 that is too tight. I can not find a rhyme or reason to this. But, like some others on the forum, I have found a brand that I like, and a couple of styles within that brand that generally can be trusted. So I stick to those. However, every once in awhile something else catches my eye.....

All the women in my family are are small in frame but have very large breasts. My oldest sister could have been a playboy centerfold, for God's sake. She's 8 years older and to die for, believe me... Along with her clothes and, of course, my mother's, I knew of nothing but to make myself up in like manner. It took awhile, but I've finally accepted that I'm most comfortable and feel the most feminine wearing a 38DD (first a 36C... then worked my way up). I'm pretty thin, only 5'8", but it's the size that feels right, feels natural. I have the wonderful, AMAZING transform classic breast forms (size 8) from the BreastFormStore that I almost always wear attached with Hollister's adhesive. They are so much a part of me these days... I so love them!

I bought a 42A bra today and it feels very comfortable. (Yesterday to get an idea of my size, I bought a 42DD underwired - it was the smallest cup I could find - and the wiring goes all the way to the middle of my armpits)

I seem to go back and forth between a 38C and a 40C. The 38 can be tight, depending on the brand, and the 40 sometimes seems loose. I know, the logical answer is to buy a topline bra in a 39. I'm just not in to paying $100 for a bra!

A tip for newbies. The general rule is go smaller if your wearing strapless. I definately need a 38C when wearing a longline or a regular strapless bra. If you don't keep your breast forms up tight to your chest, you end up with "floppers" or things moving about. All of the movements and motions look really tacky with a strapless dress!

I always have to learn these things the hard way.

Peace and Love, Joanie

36C with silicon forms, though I can wear a 34, and sometimes wear a 38. It depends on the brand.

My size is 34 C or 36 B. But I also have a 36AA bra that I sometimes wear under my drab when walking or shopping.

Love Fran.

When I first began x-dressing, I would wear my wife's. She wore a 34DD. Was too small and tight. One time when she went out of town I bought my own. A 40 D I think. Wore it out. The next one I bought was the biggest that the Dollar General sold, a 40D. Have had it for a couple of years. This morning, the underwire broke through, so guess what? Need another one. According to about three different size/fitting web-sites, I need anything from a 39G to a 48B. The best I can figure is a 44D. My 40D underwires did poke me pretty hard under the armpits though. Do I need a smaller cup size?

I'm a healthy 32DDD.:D

Bra shopping sucks as I have to buy from our local Macys or online for that size.

The bigguns are 40 D of pure silicone heaven. They wiggle and they jiggle, and with a corset, they are killer.

Otherwise, 38 C plays nicely.

Go to Walgreens and get a pair of silicone add a cups for $29

I am a 38C without any forms and when I wear certain dresses I wear a one size increase silicone pads with a 38D bra. I love the feel and look without inserts most of the time but a few of my nicer outfits are in need a a little bigger breast size to really look good.
