theres been a lot of threads i've picked up on that say they like to dress in 1950s style clothes - i agree but who would you have liked to have been or looked like - from the 50s i would go for grace kelly - in the film "rear window" i think she looked great showing off her new outfit a full white skirt to james stewart - i was a teenager of the 80s and i adored madonna - i both fancied her and wished i was her - in the videos to material girl and like a virgin especially ! these days there are so many ggs i like and would wish to look like or even be !

Apart from the obvious answer of Diana Rigg as Emma Peel, it would nominally have to be Queen Christina, even more so if I could pretend that I was Greta Garbo playing the part.

I'm pretty happy being myself.

But to answer your question, in the past I would have been Emily Dickenson, since I think I would have been the reclusive poet type.

In the present I would be Jodie Foster. She was one of the first actresses who I noticed as a child (next to Olivia Newton John and Carrie Fisher), I actually found my femme voice impersonating Jodie Foster and think I vaguely resemble her.

Last night, I tried to do my hair like Pink's in the "God is a DJ" video, but it ended up looking more like that Gwen Stefani pic above. Gotta love those happy accidents.

Mae West is my choice past. She was a beauty and I loved the Victorian dresses (or close to Victorian).

Present is harder. I love Asians but my first choice is Tara Banks. I would not have a problem with being her!
Then after searching since I am not on the present stars my second choice is Lucy Liu. I liked her when she did TV.

But they are tied.

When I was a teenager I had a massive crush on Debbie Harry the lead singer of Blondie. She was gorgeous and used to wear some fantastic outfits and when she was on TV I always used to wish I was just like her and could wear the clothes that she did.

http://www.myclassiclyrics.com/artist_biographies/Debbie-Harry-2.jpg

After that I had another crush on the singer Kim Wilde for the same reason I had my crush on Debbie Harry.

http://wzeu.ask.com/r?t=a&d=eu&s=uk&c=p&ti=1&ai=30752&l=dir&o=0&sv=0a652827&ip=56960a3b&u=http%3A%2F%2Fcontent.answers.com%2Fmain%2Fconten t%2Fwp%2Fen%2Fthumb%2F9%2F94%2F200px-Kim_Wilde_Select.jpg
