I have a pretty strong repertoire for male karaoke songs. To give you an idea of where I am vocally, some of the songs in my line up are "Creep" by Radiohead, "Dock O' the Bay" by Otis Redding, "Who's Your Daddy" by Toby Keith "Turn the Page" by Seager, and when I feel like taking it up a notch I do a pretty good Scott Weiland (STP) and Eddie Vetter (Pearl Jam)

I'm trying to build a list of songs to perform at karaoke shows as Julie. My range isn't that fantastic anymore ( over a decade of Marlboro lights 100s has taken a toll on my voice ) so I'm looking for suggestions of Female songs and artists to sing.

Right now I think I can pull off some Nora Jones, and there are a few Maroon 5 songs I think will work well also. Both will need a little tweaking to the vocals in some of the higher places :heehee:

I just know that there are some Karaoke Diva's out there, so what else do you girls suggest?

Try Diana Krall, Bette Midler, Rene Olsted, Cher and even Rosemary Clooney. All these ladies have (had) lovely voices and sing new as well as classic songs.
You can't go wrong with anything from the Great American Song Book!

It's hard to think of cool stuff that's actually in karaoke books. I think the Yeah Yeah Yeahs "Maps" is in a lot of them now, and probably some Imogen Heap stuff.

"Crazy" and "My Funny Valentine" are a few of my favorites. Be sure to get the artist whose rendition fits your range and style. They are not high range songs.

Decade of 'boro's?
Might suggest ... Kim Carnes?.. Was it?
"She's got Betty Davis eyes"
Knowing I am at risk of being berated.
Please accept my sincere advice. Quit while you are ahead.
I know first hand the long term ravages of tobacco.
