T for Trey..My Journal Of A New Beginning

Well, I've got it.....Went to the doctor today and he gave Me My prescription for testosterone....I filled at a nearby pharmacy and am about to begin the biggest adventure of My life....and am VERY excited....Toni and I talked it over and decided that since the transition is smoother on the Androgel, I am going to use that for a while....It comes in individual packets, you apply it once per day (in the morning) to a dry, hairless part of the body (back, arm, shoulder, stomach, etc.), let it dry for about 20 minutes uncovered, and then make sure that no one touches that part of your body for four hours because it can transfer to them...I am going to switch to shots in a while, but in the beginning, have decided this is the best way for Me....Another good thing is that I told him (the doctor) that I used to work for a doctor and am trained in medical assisting, so am well qualified to give My own injections...He said, if you can, good...If you want to switch and don't like the gel, just call Me and I will order the injectable and you can start giving it to yourself....So I am set....Tomorrow morning, I will put it on for the first time....:) I can't believe the euphoric feeling that I have knowing it's there...Boy Juice....The stuff that will bring out what has ALWAYS been inside of Me.....and that no one could ever see....I have no one left to inform, My family all knows....The fact that some are less than thrilled really doesn't bother Me anymore...I am going to see ME for the first time.....starting tomorrow....Just....wow.....:) Will post regular updates as My transition progresses...but for now....I am just at peace...and looking forward to the most unbelievable journey I have ever undertaken....and I am so glad to have such great friends as all of you to take along on the ride....:) Hugs and Much Love....**Trey** :hugs: :drink: :D

Well....One week on T and not a whole lot to report....I definitely have more mental clarity and energy....Feel more "pumped" would be the best way to put it....Also, one week no smoking, which is also very cool.....I had one cigarette in a week, which I am not counting because I was driven to it by total frustration, LOL....but am on the patch and doing well....By My calculations, that means I did NOT smoke about 150 cigarettes, so pretty good.....:) I have been working out every other day lifting, and doing other things on the off days, like cardio and abs...I tried to do a voice tape, but for some reason that's not working on this computer...I will try to do one today on My laptop and see if that works...I promised Kieron I would, and I will....So....that's about it for now....Nothing dramatic, but just feeling really good...Will keep you all posted. :)

Hey Kez! They don't affect each other....I checked with the pharmacy for any potential interactions before I started using the patch....They told Me there were no interactions...I had to stop smoking because My hemoglobin and hematocrit were not as low as we would like them to be....My hgb was 14.8, and it can't go over 18....so not a lot of wiggle room....If it goes to 18 or above, he can't double My dose until we bring it down because testosterone increases your red blood cells...and more red blood cells means thicker blood.....So....if that goes too high, you become a risk for blood clots, stroke, or a heart attack.....Smoking increases your hgb and hematocrit.....So I had to choose between smoking and a higher dose of T....and you KNOW what I'm going to pick there :surrender....My next bloodwork is April 11 and next appointment is April 28....He said if we can bring that down, he will double My T at the next appointment....so I am drinking TONS of water, not smoking, pretty much anything I can do to get that number down by then....and hoping it works!! :hugs:

I think an 81 mg aspirin a day would help too (Ecotrin is coated, so it doesn't hurt the stomach). It's what my doc has had me on for several years - my latest hemoglobin (two weeks ago) was 15.2. Ask your doc . . . :)

And here it goes...right on schedule, just like Tristan said...two weeks...and today it IS two weeks....Sex drive is kicking into overdrive...I can feel it....so all who planned on hiding behind couches, now might be the best time to do it....:) Muscle tone is really building up....working out is helping that along a lot....Getting the stomach hairs and what looks like fuzz on My stomach and chest....I guess the fuzz is the site of future hair? Not sure, but I hope so...if it is, wow, what a bonus!!! :) Also, My jaw is squaring off....I hadn't even noticed it, Eric did....so that's the update....Still need to do a voice tape...No changes there....still the same.....oh, and I am hungry a lot...:) That's pretty much it! **Trey**

Three week update, two days late.....Not much going on, pretty much the same....Sex drive is normal, not over the top (I'm wondering if maybe because I have always had a strong sex drive, I am not noticing the difference?)....still have the light body hair coming in....Voice, I can't tell because I have a cold, but I don't think it's changing yet.....way less hips and thighs (they weren't big before, I have always been sort of straight up and down, but I'm noticeably more so now) and I have no butt....Face is about the same as last week.....I do have a couple of dark chest hairs (and a lot of light ones).....I haven't worked out much this week since I've been sick, but the muscle tone is about the same....not more so, though....That's about it, pretty uneventful.....It's a process....:) Still no acne, I'm really lucking out there...Hope that keeps up.

Don't be surprised if your voice doesn't go back to "normal" after you're over your cold. The voice for me is still a gradual process - but for at least six months people kept asking me if I had a cold. And almost two years later it still cracks, especially towards the end of the day (maybe I don't have strong vocal chords). Don't worry, it'll come. But not all guys have deep voices, as I'm sure you know - one of the guys I work has a higher voice than me.

Four week update.....Having a cold is giving Me no information about My voice whatsoever....I just sound hoarse....so ???? The body hair is on a roll, but still light and blonde....a few dark ones on the tummy, though, so I am thinking this hair may be going to darken...if it does, wow....yay for Me...:) Sex drive is the same....no changes to any private areas that we will not discuss....no idea how long that takes or if that should be changing already? Anyone know the answer to that and want to share? (Can be in PM if you want) Muscles are harder, body shape is changing....Mentally, I am even more repressed than before, which I love....I laugh a LOT more, toni noticed that, too...Not sure why....Maybe just because I'm happier....No mood swings at all, I am steady as a rock, one reason I like the gel....Less hormonal highs and lows, I suspect....I just seem to take everything in stride....which is good...One thing I definitely noticed is that the appendages are noticeably thinner/smaller.....they were pretty dense before, are losing their density fast (ie: deflating, sort of)....which does not displease Me, obviously.....Face, hard to say....I will probably get more input on that when I see someone who I haven't seen for a while, they can give Me a more objective opinion......No acne, so am happy to report that....So there it is, one month....Looking forward to month two and seeing what happens there....Peace....**Trey**

Six weeks yesterday....Time for a new update....Well....I am definitely progressing here...the muscle tone is continuing to increase, My legs, arms, and shoulders are a LOT more hard and muscular....Legs are noticeably thinner, especially My thighs....Moustache hairs are more coarse and I have some tiny coarse hairs starting on under My chin, but I am not going to call them stubble, but they might be the start of a little of that? It's different than the peach fuzz stuff, these are more sharp and pointed....body hair, I am just covered with light blonde hair that I have no idea what it's going to do, LOL.....will it darken or do anything? I don't know, but it's there...and there is a lot of it....Toni also said the other day that My eyes don't look as wide open as they did, maybe less round....I said that could be because My face is squaring off, and that will make the features look different.....Mood is excellent, very mellow.....No problems with temper at all, in fact, I am a lot more laid back than I used to be....and a lot quieter.....Had My bloodwork appointment yesterday, will see My doctor in two weeks and, hopefully, he will up My dose.....That's pretty much it....**Trey**

Yeah, it really is, I certainly can't complain.....and I'm on a pretty low dose, too....I didn't think it was going to work like this until the dose got increased...but My doctor did say that sometimes with T less is more....and I guess he's right....(maybe that's why HE is the endo) :) :heehee:

Glad to hear things are progressing so well in such a short time - that's very encouraging, especially considering that you started later in life (like me) and you're on the gel, which supposedly takes longer to kick in than the shots.

Okay, update....Just got off the phone with My doctor....My bloodwork is GREAT....so no problem there....We discussed the changes (I see him again on May 29th).....He said that I am well ahead of the curve, especially because of the body hair...and left the option up to Me if I want to try doubling the dose or leave well enough alone and stay at 2.5 (which is apparently enough for some people and I might be one of them)....I said, how about if I try the doubled dose and if I don't like it we can go back to 2.5? He said, great, let's do that....SO....He called in the 5g gel and I can pick it up in 2 weeks, told Me that I can start using 2 packets of the 2.5 starting today....:) I'm really excited......He also said that definitely all this blonde hair that is covering almost My entire body IS going to go dark.....that is starts out this way....so I guess I can officially say that I am well on My way to becoming a Neanderthol.....rofl :) It's like fur, it's all over My stomach and chest....pretty much everywhere....but I don't have that much on My legs....oddly enough....??? He also said the 5g dose might push the voice the rest of the way down faster, so am looking forward to that....He said it sounded noticeably deeper to him, so I guess it's not in My head.....so today Trey is a happy boy....and I wanted to let you all know....:hugs:
