When I came out to my wife (girlfriend at the time), I layed everything I had out on the bed. She pick some 3-inch heels, black nylons, black leather skirt and white sweater blouse. 15 years years later, that outfit is still her favorite. Maybe your SO would like to do the same thing and make the first time seeing you dressed a little more personnel.
