I was curious how the weather affects everyone's desire to dress, if at all. Here in South Australia we are in the middle of a heatwave, with this weekend being 40C for a few days & not below 34C all week. I'd usually dress on the weekend & I have suitable summer clothes for warm days. However, the idea of wearing a wig & makeup in the heat : no thanks ! Even with the aircon on.
I know most places don't experience it this hot, but GGs hav to put up with it here & survive.
How do other girls cope in very hot or cold conditions ?

Hi Davinnia - I'm in Perth and I don't enjoy the heat much either.
I find it a problem with my foundation when it's too hot, although have discovered that Revlon Colorstay is the best for keeping on during the heat.

Well here in New England we get a taste of deep snow and high heat, sometimes in the same week :P
I do dress year round but I am a much happier girl when it's not so hot. I got all dressed up one day last summer only to have to change less then 5 minutes later due to the sweat pouring from me. Turned out to be a good day to lounge around in front of the A/C...wearing only panties :D

Here in Chicago, we go from wind chills to heat waves instantly!Right now, winter just won't let go,and it's pretty hard to deal with.I find either extreme makes going out difficult. My wardrobe is built for mild temps, and I'm getting a little crazy waiting for spring to get here!

It is winter here where I'm at and we just got snowed on. But I go in either dresses or pants and the heater and Ac work great in my truck.

I used to like to dress more in the fall and winter months, but now I like to dress all year round since I moved to Florida and the temps are warm most of the time.

when it is 90ºf plus high humidity I dont dress. Just too hot. However at the rate the weather is going here in the figure lakes of NY, I'll be dressing for a while :)

When its winter, I wear my boots practically all the time, and I will wear jeans quite often.....in the spring and summer, its short sleeves , open toe shoes and cute sun dresses or skirts and of course short shorts:o:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::D

In hot weather, my wig can make my head sweat. I'm looking for certain styles that may be cooler in hot weather.

Does the weather play a part in if i dress or not? My oath it does... I prefer the temp. to be under 25 or so, anymore than that i sweat really bad. Not a good look either.
As Davinnia said, Sth. Australia is going through a heat wave, we here in Victoria get that the next day, so today as i write this, it is about 30 degrees cel. at 11.30am

The weather really affects me because I don't have enought clothes to cover all the weather conditions.
I guess I'll just have to go shopping for more clothes. What IS a girl to do?

If its hot dress cool, if its cold dress warm.
If your makeup is melting, your wearing to much anyways, style your own hair and give up the wig.
Its really simple. You don't need to over complicate putting on clothes.

That's why I love spring in New England. Cool enough for a sweater and you don't sweat. Once summer comes, much less make-up.

During the warmer months, I dress from the waist down, staying in the cool AC. Summer time I am doing more activities that lend themselves to drab mode.
Winter time is my favorite time for dressing up and going out the little bit that I do (hope to increase that later this year.)

I am not sure really why but most of the time I stop dressing and going out en femme in summer and start up again in the fall. I guess it's what people are saying about the problems with wig and makeup in the heat.

I don't! Although it is a little cooler here in Cape Town on some days it can reach 30/35 C and I don't have aircon:sad: the thought of dressing just does not appeal.

Living in ANC AK, you bet the weather has a lot to do with what I decide to wear and when to wear it.
The nice thing is, that duirn gthe winter up here most folks are so bundeled up in heavy outerwear during the winter you can really wear a lot of things and very few will notice.

I love the summer months for dressing enfemme, I get cold really easy, and I dont get hot untill it is over 100 degree's fahrenheit, the evening hours is a great time to dress with a wig and makeup for me when it is very hot during the day. the only time I do not wear dresses is when it is 20 degree's or colder here. I usually double up on the pantyhose when it is very cold here.

Winter: leggings and a sweater top, even indoors.
Summer: Hawaiian dress outside in backyard.

Today we had 39c and I spent most of the time in just panties and platforms. After the change came in late this afternoon I put on a sundress.

This past week, on the day I get to dress, wife and kids stayed home from school due to closing because of snow. So yes, the weather does affect my dressing. After last week, how would you know when to dress? In a 5 day period, we had rain, a tornado warning, high winds, 75 degrees and sun, sleet, and snow.

Yes! Go figure! In the winter, I wear sweaters, wool skirts, and heavier dresses. In the summer I wear lighter, sheer dresses, blouses, and chuck the sweaters. It's amazing!
In the summer, dressing can be hot, and I hate sweating while all dressed up, especially while wearing makeup. All in all, I enjoy dressing in the winter a bit more. But oh, well, a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do.

I don't know what extremes of weather you girls get where you live but we in South Australia have just had a record heatwave of 15 days averaging 38C.This is the longest heatwae for any capital city in Australia. I haven't been able to dress fully in all that time as it was too hot to be bothered doing much at all. Global warming is a Cder's worst nightmare !
At last the heat is gone & a mild Easter is predicted so I'll be making up for the opportunities I missed.
Happy Easter everyone.

I used to go out only when teh temperature was reasonable, meaning from march to around early July and then again from the end of September to early January. I now go out year round and dress accordingly, refusing to be beaten by the weather.
