Kinsey Scale of Sexual Orientation

I’m sure a good many of you gurls have heard of the The Kinsey Scale of Sexual Orientation. It’s a standardized grading system that is supposed to determine on a numerical scale, how straight, gay or bi you are. 0 on the scale is completely straight and 6 is exclusively homosexual. The numbers in between denote the tendencies in between the two extremes.

My guess is that this came about because we all know how everyone tries to categorize everyone else in this world. Most TV/CD and TG’s also know that it’s not as easy as all that and really…who cares :) Gay and bi crossdressers are a unique entity in that they are attracted to fem things and so that may affect the test.

My personal opinion of the scale is if you don’t take it too serious and get all freaked out about it, it’s actually kind of fun to see the results. From what I read, Kensey's methods were flawed and unscientific. He let a lot of his own "wishful thinking" get in the way and was not adverse to cheating on his data. He estimated the percentage of homosexuals in the population at 10%----A significant number lached on to by both activists and exploitive politicians.----but more recent data suggests that the number is 3.5% (one standard deveation BTW)--which makes more sense for usual variations in biological "error" rates.

While the page mentions the Kinsey Scale, the little test is for the Klein Scale (wherein I scored a 6.9, because I'm totally a homosexual woman).

I'm not at all sold on only 3.5% of the population being gay, btw.

Perhaps it is un-scientific (or should it be non-scientific) but it nailed me dead center. Bi with heterosexual tendencies. I think the results are more from my actual experiences than my tendencies. I am totally committed and faithful to my SO and would not change that for anything. My bi tendencies are exclusively related to my female side. When I am in my fem world I am totally immersed in every way. I am the ultimate female. I adore beautiful men. On the other hand when I am in my male personna I adore the women in my life - SO, friends, aquaintances, even beautiful women I see when I am shopping. So, my tendencies seem to be more opportunistic than by design.

Does that make me a bad person?

As someone who feels attraction to women, but can identify mostly as "asexual", I didn't quite know how to answer this quiz (I use the term diliberately as refering to something trivial and hardly to be taken as "science") "correctly". And what on earth does the bit about how I identify "politically" mean??? does it mean if I am accepting of sexual diversity I tick in the "homosexual" end and if I'm NOT accepting I tick the "heterosexual" end?? I scored a bisexual with heterosexual tendencies. That's good to hear. I was worried that I was too straight, and I can't ignore my quirks. Quirks make fantasizing far more interesting. Reality can match the fantasy, and it's a good idea for me to remain open to new experiences. I can get enthused about a female who looks male, or a male who is dressed as a female. I don't need "guilt restrictions." They are useless, when all things are presented in a positive manner.

Because a person taking this test knows the subject matter of the test and that this test was linked form a crossdressing forum it is fundamentally flawed to being with.

This would be far more accurate if it was a blinds survey where the test questions did not lead the test taker in to knowing it was about sexual orientation.

I find these test flawed to being with as I would, if needing to be cataloged, be considered homosexual or bisexual as I am more attracted to men than women. I however consider myself more woman than man even though i present an outward appearance and gender of a man.

Since I do feel and display such things I reject sexual typing and instead consider myself attracted to whoever I feel like at the time.

Guess that is why I scored dead center... or maybe it was because that was what I wnated to score taking it ;)

If I honestly answered the questions and I think that I did, then the results are indicative of the type of person that I am moving toward.

My results are that I am bisexual with hetero tendencies. My hetero side wants to explain such a ridiculous assessment but my bisexual side needs no explanation.

As I am reaching an age of androgony, the tenderness and the love with another person is most important irregardless of the sex of the other person. Yes, I would have a relationship with someone of the same sex if that person gave me the same type of support that I get and have gotten from my wife. Perhaps her fears of the past, her fears that my dressing would trigger homosexual encounters, are somewhat true. I don't know, but I do know that I am no longer afraid of facing that decision. I don't know if a relationship with another male would be sexual but if I received emotional support from another male; what is the problem with that?

i'm with her. for, though it pegged me by its own questions frankly answered as that most square of pegs, a 1.0, there was no way to indicate how attracted i have been been towards feminine images, both external as well as emotional, mental and empathic presentations of some exceptional crossdresers here. believe we are all made up up of both feminine and masculine traits and gender preference is probably as mixed up as the rest. but i answered as i see myself and i feel it is not very accurate as pertaining to us.

My result was 3.7 and when I took the test the phrase was this: "You're completely bisexual". I laughed my @$$ out loud. At fisrt I was not sure whether I'd agree or not with the result, but I knew and know I'm bisexual. Overall I don't believe much in tests, yet this was helpful.

The questions listed here should be posed in a format having reptition. There should be more questions to answer as well. It is only through the repetition of answering the same or similar questions in the same way that you are able to generate a base line of data sufficient enough to allow for the [U]possibility of making a correlation. Then statistically speaking you have the choice of either "No" or "possibly"...

I scored a 3.8 but any bi/homosexual tendencies are indicative of my femme persona. When I tried the S.A.G.E test I did it on two separate occasions; one when I was feeling particularly femme and again when feeling homme. The results were kind of predictable yet accurate.
I have not yet been able to blend my male & female sides; right now they're pretty much two separate people and so I have to complete these tests as one OR the other or else the results are confused. Just like this one!

The test assumes that everyone is sexual in some way and does not allow for my asexuality. That's my complaint with it. It needs to delink sexual orientation from sexual needs, desires and the drive. Far too many assumptions it makes of the person taking the test...

The test was interesting, but there is too much room for error and false readings because of the way it is set up. Taken as a man I'm heterosexual, but taken as a woman I am homosexual. However the test is good for fun and laughter.

Potentially accurate depending on my mood, I do not have the interest in sex with a man in any fashion, but, when dressed I do sometimes think of pleasing a man, more a fantasy. The only way I would act on these fantasies would be with the wife wearing something say plastic or rubber in nature. Seeing how that will more than likely never happen - it will just stay a fantasy!
