20 Years

Tonight the night.


20 years ago I started something, I did not think about it at the time, I was just looking for some kindred soles.

It’s called Gender Mosaic, (Canada’s Oldest and most established
Transgender Support Group) and to night we celebrate 20 years of service to the community .

My role to night will to be the founder, the reception will be held in Ottawa, Ontario at City Town Hall, and we HAD place’s 100 for but the space is all sold out.

My son will be there, the Chief of Police, and so many I can’t think of them all.

This the first time I have been out in 5 years, and I'm a bit scared, when you sort of the guest of honour it’s a bit different than just being out.

There will be lot’s of pictures and I will post them soon after.

Many think that being Trans is a selfish thing, but we know that the opposite is really true.

To give back to a community that has supported you is the best of possible activities.

Would it help to just close your eyes and thing of your original intention and how many people have been helped? I think the core beliefs and personal motives are more important than the surface stuff. Our personal values have far more impact than how we look. At least I think so.

I'll add my congrats. Understand that you did a wonderful thing for your Gurls! I personally know several members and they always point at Mosaic with pride.

Imagine all of the people who have been helped over these past twenty years. You have developed a lot of Good Karma, and of course all of that has a way of coming back around.

Enjoy yourself, take your bows, and imagine how different things would be if you hadn't taken that step twenty years ago.

Thank you for your insight 20 years ago to Start Gender Mosaic.

While I live a fair distance from Ottawa, there are a great group of girls there, and what few times i have the opportunity to go to Ottawa, always have a great time.

I am dissapointed that I was not able to be to the 20th anniversary party, due to distance from home and working, but am so pleased that every one had such a great time.

Hope they have another very succesful 20 years, and it would be so nice to be able to go to a 40th anniversary party
