View Full Version : An odd question (perhaps).

Who else feels comfortable in both male and female mode?

I'm typing this en femme. Everything minus makeup, now and then glancing down at my new pair of two-tone spectator pumps. I'm enjoying myself, and I feel good.

If I look over my shoulder, I can see a brand new pair of Corcoran jump boots, with the cap toes and the beveled heel. I'll get up tomorrow, and lace them on, the whole time enjoying how they look and feel.
I'm not a sneaker person. It's a vestige of my punk/hardcore past.

It's odd. I was wearing one pair when I bought the other. Even the saleslady commented on the contrast. Anyway, it got me to thinking...

Tonight I'm Matrioshka for a few hours. Tomorrow I'll be Brian again. In both personas, I'm equally at home. I don't feel uncomfortable either way. Maybe I'm lucky in that regard. I may be lucky, but am I alone?

I really think that is natural for all of us, I mean we all kinda dress the same when we just want to relax, COMFORTABLE Comfort is what the mind wants.

Not at all Hon. I'm equally okay as Rich or Sal, although Sal is a bit "prettier" (or so I'm told). True beauty comes from the inside though and that is how I relate to others.:)

I think that most of us feel comfortable wearing drab or fem wardrobes. We may enjoy the fem side more as it is more exciting to us, but I think that our fem selves are an extension of who we are, and not a separate identity.

It's not an odd question. There is such a thing as gender dysphoria, and men who have it are perpetually uncomfortable in male mode. They are candidates for SRS.
Many of us (myself included, and you by the looks of things) have a male and a female side to express, and can maintain both, and once we understand this we can be comfortable either way.

Comfortable both wats although fem is more fun. Not easier, because everything must coordinate. Like my psyche sometimes its a little of both.

I'm happy to say I enjoy both sides as well, though I can't say I luxuriate in being a boy. I really do feel for those of us in pain who aren't comfy on both sides of the fence. Tammi

I feel comfortable both ways. At home I sometimes dress half and half, but maybe that's just me being weird.

Great question to ask.

Years ago when I thought I was the only one who did this (before Compuserve) I had two separate personalities. Yes , I had to be fully dressed and madeup to really feel like I was a girl.

But now 30 years later and years of therapy, I am one person, inside and out. I find I am much more comfortable when dressed as Karen but being in male form which I have to be every day for the public world, I know I am Karen, the outward appearence is just a shell of who I truly am.

I can close my eyes and the image I have of me is my true self.

I feel comfortable as both now. At one time I had no clue and being tall I knew at that time SRS was not an option and that was before marriage. Now I am very glad I made the right decision an found a balance that works for me.

I dig being a chick but I could never give up being a guy. Like 'em both, or rather I should say I am comfortable with myself both ways. The girls clothes are way more fun to wear....

You are not alone.
I feel like me no matter what I wear. I feel like am split 50/50 between the fem/masc me. I like both sides of me equally.
Having said that, I'm also trying to ditch the social concept of womanly/manly labels and just be my true self. Notice I said trying, I'm not there yet, but working hard on it.

For the most part, I live my public life dressed in male clothing; but I much prefer female attire. I can tolerate a few days without dressing. But then the urge to dress as a woman grows to the point that I very much look forward to dressing up again. I actually begin to feel very uncomfortable presenting as a man.

Dressing as a woman is always something special for me. So I can dress and feel comfortable as a man -- but only for a while.

equally at home as mike or mitch but prefer the latter and would like to spend more time with her. Circumstances dictate otherwise though and I have my next girly adventures to look forward to.

I wear trousers or overalls every day and I wear a skirt every day. It depends on what I'm doing at the time.

At home, yes. Not yet comfortable enough with her side to go anyplace. To gain that kind of confidence I'd want to lose a few pounds and try to reduce the size of my upper body any way I can without surgery.

Hi Emily: I don't think that's being weird at all. That is the way I am at least 90% of the time. I've heard it called "gender bender" and worse but the labels don't bother me. My wife told me she doesn't like the fake boobs, and make-up which is alright with me too. I like to think of it like native americans did i.e. two spirited, although to me it's the same whether in drag or in drab. To answer the op I feel the same no matter how I'm dressed.

I too am comfortable with both sides of who I am. Of course it is much more fun being dressed in womens clothes but that mode of attire is not always appropriate for the things I enjoy doing. To me it does not feel right to get dirty, greasy, or sweaty when dressed en femme. Each style has its place and I am comfortable with myself being dressed either way.
