While it has been mostly a quiet week around lake Wobegone, your Minnesota
correspondent has been actively dressed in public.

In case you were thinking of asking, yes, it does raise a few
eyebrows, but what should we expect?

In the last week, I had my eyebrows waxed, obtained a fresh manicure
and pedicure, bought a new pair of 4" red wedge sandals, and coupled
with a light blue, knee length denim skirt and red turtleneck, took the whole outfit out to a singles dance party. What the women were impressed by, though, was the pair of earrings I made from old fishing lures. One gal
wanted me to give them to her.

In the midst of mostly conservative, middle aged, middle class,
middle American singles, I am an admitted anomoly. While I get a few
funny looks, toleration is the norm, and I always dance with some of
the women.

The key to pulling this off, is confidence and self assurance. This
is hardly psychic force; more a matter of practice and attitude.
Because I don't care what my critics might think, I can mix and
mingle in open society, while dressed for success.

There is never fear of my secret being found out, since I am
advertising, rather than concealing, my wardrobe.

While it is absolutely true that I am not without detractors, they do
not deter nor frighten me.

And just so you know, even though it may seem curious, I have better
luck with the ladies, when I am in full dress mode.

Not so far from Lake Wobegone, it was mostly a quiet week in Minnesota.

Way to go! With more people like you leading the way, maybe someday we'll all feel free to be ourselves.

I've got a few things that come to mind:
1 - Congrats on having the confidence to do this. When more of us are out there all the time it will become a lot more accepted. Same thing happened when the Gay and Lesbian community decided they were tired of hiding.
2 - I've been out in Minnesota myself and we well treated.
3 - I've been surprised at how well some places you would hesitate to cross dress in have treated me. As an example, Minnesota, Little Rock AR, Oklahoma City. These are all places well known for their conservative reputations and yet I swear I was treated better in these places than anywhere else. In OKC everyone I interacted with was genuinely friendly - they weren't just putting on the act to be professional. Frankly I look forward to going back! :-)

Again, congrats! :-)

Your involved in The Singles Scene and appearing en femme? Oh-my!

One of the chief complaints I always hear from The Ladies: "These guys are just not honest about their feelings. They always seem to have some hidden agenda." Well, they sure won't be able to say that about you! I think you will be putting them to the test....let's see how much "real honesty" they can handle.

Peace and Love, Joanie
