I had a friend growing up. She caught me trying on her mom's half slip. She smiled and helped me, then put one on herself. We were 6? From that day on we were secrret girlfriends! We dressed and played with Barbies. When she got a new dress, I got to wear it too. She shared her clothes and shoes with me. And her mom's. Her mom caught us but was very understanding. She taught us makeup and hair care as teens and their basement was my fantasy reality. Paula (changed to protect the not so innocent) and I did fashion shows for her mom who applauded us. It was so innocent and so much fun. I learned so much from them. We parted ways years ago. I realized later this girl loved me but not at the time. Too bad I didn't have feelings like a girl to match my looks. I miss Paula now. Did anyone else ever have a friend like that? :hugs::daydreaming:

Have you tried to look her up. It might be a blast to meet her again.

wow, I agree, have you thought about trying to look her up, see if that friendship is still there? You have nothing to lose, you could end up being the best of friends again.

I had a crossdresser friend back years ago, but back then I was too "redneck" to appreciate the person for the friend the person really was. I would try some of the friend or people search web sites and try to locate that person you knew growing up. Worse that could happen is that they don't remember you or don't want to know you anymore, but that is only an extreme case, but you never will know if you don't try.

Yes, I had one like that once. My sister. She always felt more in tune being a boy and I as a girl. She secretly taught me things I needed to know, researched our mutual dysphoria, and was always there for support (and vice-versa). We shared these things, helped each other out until we were seperated by family issues. One day she couldn't fight her demons anymore and gave in.
I miss her terribly and that pain never goes away.
She taught me many things and always encouraged me even when it got really dark.
I really miss her.

The problem is it's hard to find women friends because they change their names through marriage. Is there any way around that?

Some states put their marraige indexes on-line. You can search by the maiden name to find out when and who they married. I think some of the geneology sites may have something similar. Check the State Archives where they lived.
