In honor of Babette (who can come back from walking the dog to find something she likes), what do you like about other CD's? What keeps you coming back here (or to other places where CD's congregate?

I, for one, think it's great that I can share with y'all and I love reading your experiences and stories as they inspire me to be me, however I choose to be.

we are kin, dears,
outcasts in common who perceive that we are not cast out by them but we walk to the beat of a different drummer!
no marching for me.
i enjoy greatly hearing your adventures, your tips, your fears, your hopes.
we grow by our sharing.
that is why, though limited in time, i love coming here.
and wish i were there.
hugs,
jessie

Virginia, you didn't give me a chance to get out the door - my poor dog. I like the eclectic mix of people within this forum. Its so exciting to watch a new member enter for their first time. Sometimes I can almost feel their energy and excitement as they open the closet door and say, "Hello, my name is..... and I'm new."

The warmth and compassion offered by so many is so very real. What would be this forum be without Holly offering warm cookies and directions to the restroom? Reflect on all the times a member shared their feelings over the loss of a loved one, a sick family member, a troubled relationship with their SO or friend, or discouragement. Then think of all the times so many members offered their support.

How many times can do you recall a member presenting their first picture or sharing their first experience with makeup, or telling us about going out for the first time. Then how many members followed up with positive replies.

Think about all of the moderators who provide their time and talents to make this an outstanding forum. I participate in several other forums covering other topics. This one is the gold standard.

I could go on and on but the dog is starting to snore. What do I like about other CDs? I think CDs and their SOs are some of the coolest people around.

Every time I log into this site, I am just so please to find that there are so many people like me. There was no internet as I was in my teens, so I thought I was the only one like me (except for porn she-males). It is so wonderful to find so many others like me.

Although I'm more of an observer than participant, I find it amazing there are as many "girls" out there that love the ridiculous power of femininity as much as me...

I feel it takes a special and unique individual to CD, its like venturing down an unknown path in the dark and I admire the courage it takes to do that.I can see that determination every time I log back on here, so for someone who continues to give their all in this, they have my greatest respect.

I get a buzz coming here, similar to dressing. I love to read other girls adventures, read about wives/girlfriends who accept & encourage us. All the people here are very friendly & honest, & the big bonus is all the lovely photos.

I love the consideration that is given to each poster.Allowing others their own opinion and likes and dislikes. That is a big part of what makes life great. I also enjoy reading the encouragement that is given about. Very seldom negative comments. Just friendly 'Way to goes', and 'Wish I had the guts to do that'. It makes it easier to go out wearin some female clothing and not worrying about what other people think. Keep up the good work.

I am hand's down one of the most misinformed people on the planet. I accually thought that I was the only idiot on the planet that was dumb enough to enjoy doing this. Wow,was I wrong. I love this site. There are so many people like me out there that is is truly scary. I am so glad that the internet came along so we could accually talk to each other that I could just shit my self. LOVE CINDYCD

It is a community of people with similar interests and diverse ways of expressing those interests. Like many others, for a long time, I thought that I was one of a very few people who crossdressed. When I found out that there were many more, I was relieved and elated. It was like finding long-lost children.
I keep coming back for the friendship, the acceptance, the helpful advice, and the general support for crossdressing.
I am extremely happy that I found this site.

The honesty, the compassion for each other, the feeling of not being alone anymore.I can't dress nearly as much as I'd like to, but, this is kind of "mentally dressing",and keeps my femme side within reach.

Their strength and intelligence. You need a lot of both to be a cd

I enjoy being away from male personalities.

Growing up as a male, I felt unending pressure to be tough, confrontational, take no s*** from anyone, handle everything, deal with every problem, etc.

I prefer being calm, gentle, caring and feminine. The entire world
would be a better place without a lot of stereotypical male bullS***

Love to your all.

I have never met another CD face to face(?) that I know of. This forum lets me know that I am not alone in this world or not the only one that enjoys the feminine side of myself. For the longest time I felt guilt, revulsion and self pity for the way I am. I fully came out to mdy wife about 3 years ago and it was one of the best things I have ever done. She is supportive of me and helps me shop and sometimes buys things for me. I even got her to wear make-up more nowdays. I have learned so much from all the ladies here and that is another great thing I like about this forum.

It's a bit of an obvious one, but what I like most is that they understand what it's like to be a CD, and that you can have real deep and meaningful conversations with them without feeling too shy, and without feeling that you need to justify your crosdressing.

Of course, this can be true of GG's too, but with CD's (especially mature ones), the starting point is a common and known behaviour.

Like Others have said, its knowing that you are not the only one who likes to be dressed in pretty clothes, and all the other members are so supportive. It build's your confidence to be all you can be and to be happy. :battingeyelashes:

I love the way people are so open and honest here and are willing to pitch in even if it is just in a little way. I also like the fact that most of these threads are questions that I would of asked my self. What I mean is that people here bring up real issues and real questions that benefit all and not a bunch of crap about nothing that benefits no one. The replies are polite and respectful for the most part and I appreciate that people can agree and disagree in a polite and respectful manner and keep these threads clean and on topic and not turn them into a warzone of words and get way off topic.

The healing, to know that other people all so had a bad time as I did, but now can put it behind than. To look forward to a new life as being one with your self not two people that are all ways fitting.

I have not met many CDs face-to-face but have found them on the sympathetic side of the spectrum of people. I have only just joined this site but already I can feel the empathy from the posts I have read. I wish this could have been around 50 years ago.

By coming here, it makes me realise i,m not the only guy in the world who wants to spend time being girly.
Also reading many things here, gave me a better understanding of why i feel the desire to dress as a woman and thats theres really nothing wrong with it:)

Hmm -- that you really are there, reaffirming that no crossdresser is an island unto herself. Yes, we all walk different paths, and each of us is as unique as those in any other group of people. The vast majority of crossdressers that I have met are truly superb caring people. Yes, I have met some rotten apples too, but then I've met some in any of my other life pursuits too.

But -- there is a special understanding and caring nature about our well-being as crossdressers that I so very much appreciate.

I learned this the hard way many years ago on my first ever soirée in public en femme. I was read by a teenage girl at a food court, and was chilled to the bone that purged everything and ran from the group I had help to begin, Transpitt. Years later, when I rejoined, I met one of my co-founding sisters, and related my story. She said taht everyone had wondered what happened to me and was so very concerned. She said that I could have come to them and they would have helped me through.

I now know this, and thank heaven that we as a community do care and understand. Equally important, and I do have to say it, having my wife in my life, who also understands. Without the care of both, I wouldn't be here typing this today.

Hi Virginia , What made me join and keeps me coming back to this site is all of the great people here that are willing to share there feelings and experences with all of us so that we may all benefit . I for one was scared to death to join , fear of the what if`s , now that I have spent some time here I feel comfortable and relaxed to know that we all are here for each other . And a huge THANKYOU to everyone that makes this site possible for without you all we would not have this luxury!! Tomara

Fully agree with above, my sentiments exactly. Only problem is finding the time to visit the site every day and I am retired. How do the working "girls" manage to find the time?

Whenever possible I've always tended to establish freindships with other CD's. In these freindships we each know pretty much what the other person or persons is all about. Camraderie between all of us comes out of this. We don't have to agree with each other in all subjects of discussion but we all share crossdressing and it's ins and outs, ups and downs and we talk to eachother about it. Adrienner mentioned male personalities. One reason why I come to the m to f forums is that by and large everybody seems to have personalities that tend to be quite feminine.

Women tend to use language a little differently than men and it shows in quite a few of the m to f posts. I've been CD'ing since I was 11 or 12 and I get great satisfaction out of being part of this community.

Because you can openly be honest and get more feedback about questions than you can anywhere else. Also it helps to have someone to talk who actually understands.

That this is the first forum where no one has told me to shut the f up if they didn't like my opinions or politics. That in itself, says tons about acceptance!

What do I like about other CD's? Although others have mentioned many positive things about their meeting people on this site, when you venture out and meet CD's face to face is the real rewarding part. I refer to it as the Lake Wobegon effect - Garrison Keillor's description of a group of people being above average, usually statistically improbable.
A lot of the CD's I meet are smart, possess an excellent sense of humor, have done well in their careers, have had many varied experiences in life beyond their job or crossdressing. They have accepted themselves, don't take this business too seriously and have a real grasp of the pro's and con's of our existence.
But the brute honesty that the friendship starts on and then develops from there really puts in on the fast track, and you can get very deep, very fast, something that rarely happens in the "outside" world.
Now don't get me wrong, there are some rubberheads out there, but I just give them their space, I believe there is something to be gained from any intercourse(look it up), even if it is to avoid that person again...
Fantastically rewarding I say, so venture out to a group meeting or a TG weekend sometime and really start enjoying the advantages of our lifestyle.

I ,like others before me, coming upon this site has made wonderous changes in how I see myself and others like me. I don't post much but I read resposes as much as time permits. Everyone has been great and most helpful in making my life as a CDer wonderful. Many suggestions on "how to" handle this or that has also been great. My thanks to everyone out there for their support!

I wouldnt miss a day without logging on to this site. I am new to CDing and the few questions I've posed along with a couple situations I have found myself in has resulted in such excellent advice from caring and sincere people that have been there before and are more than willing to share their experiences. I thank you all.

I just love the great feeling of chatting with similar minded people, and marvel at the variation of all the lovely girls on sites such as this. We also accept each other for what we are as we have all experienced every emotion possible between us and there is always someone else who can share your experience.
I do not think that there is a nicer group of people on the planet.
