View Full Version : What I Learned in Las Vegas

During the year, I try to get out several times a month…for me this is huge and I cherish each time I get out. But nothing has changed my outlook and attitude on getting “out and about” as my recent trip to Las Vegas. But as I reflected back on this past week, there were several important lessons I learned about myself and traveling. I posted much more at "Out and About". http://www.crossdressers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=84499

I love being Kristen. I could not wait to get dressed and be out and about in TG friendly town like Vegas. To see Las Vegas through her eyes was amazing. Gambling at the Bellagio, Hilton, Sahara and Riviera will forever change the way I view those casinos when I see them featured in movies or ads. Attending LaCage, and going to clubs and restaurants were dreams come true.

Traveling friends are important. Connecting with the girls from Vegas, (or Orlando or Chicago) make the nights (or days) so much more enjoyable. I so much enjoying hanging out with them and it makes me a better hostess when girls come to Boston!

Makeovers are good. I have been doing my own make-up for over a year now and am comfortable going out with it on, but I had two professional makeovers while I was in Vegas. Having a makeover appropriate to your clothing for the evening makes that evening a little more special and gives you a little more confidence. I remember exclaiming to Amy at the Glamour Boutique as I was primping in the mirror before heading out….”Has anyone ever looked this good ?” She sweetly replied….no, never. Sigh…

And shoes…make sure they are sexy and comfortable so you can wear them for hours. Each night I was out for 5-6 hours. One pair I had was amazing and the other ended up being a problem after an hour. I struggled with them for a while before switching over….yes, I carried a back-up pair in the car.

What are some of your lessons learned while traveling?

Hope you had a great time. Looking at your picture, you had no problem blending in. Then too Las Vegas, just about anything goes.'

I love vegas. Its such a sensory overload to begin with...its hard for me to even imagine dressing enfemme and experiencing it.....(like going on the New York New York roller coaster and loosing my wig during the first drop...)

Kristen, did you go to...or can you recommend any TG friendly clubs or bars out there?

You ask what I've learned when traveling. Well, most of my travels have been to Vegas as well, so it may be limited to that location, but maybe not. Most of the folks on The Strip are so caught up in the architecture and ads and gambling and everything else there, they didn't notice me. Now you have to know that I'm 6'1" and if you look at me from the wrong angle (most of them), I couldn't pass in a very dark room. Either they don't pay attention, or expect this in Las Vegas or just don't care enough to let it change their behavior. I have seen T-Girls followed for a while and have heard comments from drunks, but they are few and far between. If you don't want to attract attention, you just may not attract unwanted attention.
And ALWAYS have a backup pair (or two) of shoes.

Absolutely. Freezone on Paradise is very TG friendly. I was there two nights and one night was lesbian night and I loved it. I also went to LaCage (the show) and the Riviera and Sahara casinos are so easy to walk around in, shop and gamble. I spent over an hour in each and had guests take pictures of me. I ate at the Artisan...an alternative restaurant and that was wonderful. I'd go there again...anytime. On the wild side is the Las Vegas Lounge....a number of working Tgirls go there at night....I went twice and had an amazingly fun night for a straight girl.

Glad you had a blast. You look fantastic in your pic. Hope someday to be able to do what a lot of gurls like you have done. And, yes, I will carry spare shoes!!

Maybe you didn't get the memo "What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas". Now I understand if you didn't know this rule and posted about your trip is one thing but if you knew this rule adn still told us about it that may be a problem.
Just kidding, glad you had a good time (translation: I am really really jealous). And you looked good in that picture.

Kristen, next time you go, make sure you stop at the MAC store in Caesar's Palace shopping mall. Its a big one and they have lots of stuff there that are not in the regular MAC shops. Plus, half of the guys working there (4+ total) were wearing lots of makeup.

What are some of your lessons learned while traveling?

1. Carry back-ups of everything! (especially good shoes)

2. Don't spend too much money and keep your plastic handy if you do.

3. Try to research ahead of time so you know where to go and where to avoid.

Love your look Kristen! Glad you had a super time.

Love,

If your shoes are killing you at the end of the night just take them off like all of the GG's do and walk in your hose.
Always have extra hose.
It will always take a bigger suitcase to travel en fem than in drab.
Always remember that the 45 minute make job will take at least 2 hours when you are on the road. You just have to have everything right.
