Do any of you girls know how I can avoid oily skin ruining my make up, I got dressed and made up last night to take some pictures of my new tops and after a couple of hours my skin looked so shiny it was awful!

Yes you can. You need to cleanse, tone and moisturise your skin first before putting on makeup. Also for oily skin, exfoliating it once a week will help. Make sure you buy products that are made for oily skin.

Have a read of my routine in this post #11

Jayne, use Noxzema cleanser/moisturizer. It removes the oils quite well, and moisturizes the skin also.

Also, once you've applied your foundation, use a good powder to set the foundation.

Jayne, three pointers....

First, don't overdo the moisturizer under your foundation.

And second... remember to dust on transluscent powder over your foundation and blush. It not only sets your make-up, but it provides a portrait like finish and also absorbs the natural oils released through your pores. Although I prefer Loreal foundations, I use Cover Girl powders. Powder usually comes in three shades for you to select from: light; medium; and dark.
Sometimes I use Pressed Powder, which I prefer to apply with a brush instead of the puff. Other times I use the transluscent powder, which is finer and more absorbent because the individual grains settle in your pores. Occaisionally I'll even use both with a light touch. I always, always, always dust with powder after applying makeup. It truly gives you that nice finishing touch.

Finally, you may want to carry some blotting tissues in your purse. You can find them in almost any store's cosmetics section.
After you've been made-up for awhile and that dreaded shine begins to appear, lightly press the specialized blotting tissues gently over your face and they will soak-up any excess oils without smudging your make-up.

I hope this helps!!

Hello Jayne:

In the boutique here we sell Fleshtoned Foundation Stage Makeup that holds up marvelously to heat, sweat and under oily complexion conditions. Many of our girls use it as a beard cover because it stays put all day. We recommend using it in combination with Our Oil Free Pressed Powder. We have plenty in stock - but I don't think we have any in the window so email me if you are interested. Take Care and Love Always,

Theresa
