Not-so-fancy Footwear

...so we're just hanging out being lazy, trying to keep cool on a hot afternoon, when my "recently-abused-by-a-kitten-with-a-full-bladder" slippers come to mind:

Me: Geez, so now I have nothing to wear.

She: Well, you can wear my slippers if you want....

Me: and here I thought we had "rules" against that! :)

She:.. tho I don't think they'd fit you.

Me: Oh, that never stopped me before. LOL

She: ...and there's always the high heels I have in the closet... (smirk)

Me: Yeah, the ones you've never worn!

She: That's cos I can't fit into them.

Me: Ok, fine,.. chalk that up to a bad purchase...

(a few moments pass)

She: I love you.

Me: How can you be sure?

She: I can't,.. but I think I am. LOL.. and anyways, it's too late now!

Me: Oh, for some people it's never too late... now get some rest.


Simple exchanges like this are like someone offering you the last spoonful of your favorite flavor ice cream.

Footwear is my biggest (I really mean BIGGEST) problem.
I have women's size 16.5 feet. Just try to find them even on teh internet.

Before transition I used to wear one pair of shoes all the time.

Now I have 12 pair out and dance in the following:
hushpuppies loafers, tan
Hushpuppies leather brown loafers
black diabetic shoes with arch supports and padding (like black waitress shoes)
pool or water shoes, green, blue or light blue

The about 3 months ago I got 2 pair of flipflops. The first time I wore them they were agonizing when we went out to eat. I started wearing them in the house, and finally they didn't hurt anymore and I could keep them on. So I started wearing them all the time.

4 weeks ago I tried to dance in them and was surprised that I could, so I have worn nothing ever since all the time.
